Export Manager
Responsible for coordinating export/import process including scheduling, trafficking of
international shipments, and ensuring export/import compliance. Serve as liaison between
customer, outside freight broker and internal departments to coordinate efficient and timely
order processing. Meet with customer freight forwarders to assure documentation
compliance. Visit subsidiaries and support efforts for international shipment regulation.
Thorough understanding and knowledge of Export Administration Regulations, U.S. Customs
Regulations, NAFTA Regulations and compliance procedures.

Process Implementation:
• Improved export order process time from 1 day to 3 hours by tracking exactly when an
order was entered and then released from all holds credit, sales, allocation.
• Developed process for creating and processing direct shipment invoices for shipments
sent to Brazil from Japan with United States as the invoicing center. Created system to
track every step of the process to provide just in time information.
• Improved import tracking process by creating reports to track all international shipments
from shipping to receipt to provide accurate information on ships contents and when
parts/equipment were expected to arrive at warehouse.
• Created process to have forwarders return proof of export, showing AES (Automated
Export System) ITN (Internal Transaction Number) to ensure appropriate documentation
available for audits.
• Improved the time it took to contact the forwarder, and have a container spotted at our
location for loading by 66% (3 days to next day) due to the relationships established
with the forwarders.
• Created reports to verify Schedule B export classification codes in SAP systems between
warehouse locations.
• Created, processed, reported and distributed a weekly report to sales for distributors
and subsidiaries that showed status of all open orders. Included in report were details
on product availability, credit, sales and allocation issues that showed the consignee the
expected shipment date of their consolidated shipment.

Compliance
• Initiated a system for checking all customer orders against the “Lists” (Denied Persons
List, Entity List, Foreign Nationals List, etc.) ensuring a perfect track record of
compliance.
• Worked with IS department to create reports for (BIS) Bureau of Industry and Security to
track the value of exports of certain products to specific countries in Latin America.
• Maintained compliance when a major change in the Schedule B Export Classification
Codes was issued by BIS, researched the new codes and updating SAP.
• Updated to new Incoterms removing DDU (delivered duty unpaid) and adding DAT
(delivered at terminal) and DAP (delivered at place) within SAP and advising impacted
departments of the changes.
• Identified requirement for Encryption for new License Classification Code, worked with
Legal Council and Engineers to identify and update the export system in SAP ensuring
accurate and up to date information for both software and hardware applications.
Additionally, this required new License Code to be entered into SAP and Export
Documents to be reworked.
