PRESENTATION
The MARINI model ‘MA 100 ID’ drill is exclusively designed for use on drilling sleds.
The MA 100 ID is a rotary percussion drill with right and left hydraulic separated rotation, for use with
extendable screw bits (R22‐R25‐R32‐R38, ISCHEBECK Titan 30 – 40).
Its ideal use is for the drilling of anchors or stabilizations in civil engineering construction sites and in deep
drilling in quarries of various lithotypes.
The flushing for the cleaning of the hole can be supplied with air or water with pressures of up to 6 bar. The input of
cement solvents up to 50 bar is also possible.
The use of the MA 100 ID drill allows a high speed of drilling, low consumption compared with other drills of
similar weight, and reduced consumption of spare parts.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Manual content and use
Keep this manual in a dry and safe place for future reference, so that it is not ruined and is always available
for consultation.
This manual cannot replace the user's experience but it does supply all the information for correct machine
use.
If you need copies or up‐dates, exclusively contact the Marini Quarries Group, which will supply indications
on the matter and solve any problems.
Typographical convention
The notes supply suggestions or special tips.
This message informs the user about incorrect procedures or special conditions which may
damage the machine or place the operator in danger.
CAUTION: Marini Quarries Group carefully follow the instructions, procedures, and
recommendations contained in this manual, to take all the precautions suggested by good
technique and to comply with current safety regulations.
GENERAL NOTES ON DELIVERY
Al ricevimento della macchina, aprire l’imballo e controllare che:
‐ On receipt of the machine, open the package and check that:
‐ the equipment is not damaged
‐ in the case of transport damage, inform the forwarder and/or the transport insurance company in a
detailed way, immediately on delivery.
‐ the supply corresponds to the order specifications. If any pieces are missing, immediately inform the
Marini Quarries Group within 8 days of receipt.
Guarantee
The machine is supplied and guaranteed to be free from fabrication faults or defective material for a period
of 6 months from the date on the transport document.
This guarantee, concerning faults and defects due to material, manufacturing and processing, is valid on
condition of reporting them within 8 days time after the relative identification.
Parts proved to be defective will be reaired or replaced, at the discretion of the Marini Quarries Group, on
condition that the said defect does not depend on failure to observe the use and maintenance instructions,
bad or unsuitable use of the equipment or on normal wear.
The parts to be replaced or repaired will be made available ex‐our workshop.
The user shall sustain the shipment and transport costs, plus those for the labour, travel and board, if the
repair should necessitate the presence of one of our technicians.
Parts subject to wear are not covered by the guarantee.
OBLIGATION TO STOPPING THE MACHINE: If there is a risk that the defect might
compromise the safety or security may cause further damage, you shall not use the
machine until it is repaired and performance tested.
Modifications to the machine
Marini Quarries Group reserves the right to make all necessary modifications to the machines it
manufactures without any prior notice
Machine identification
The machine is identified by the no. indicated on the card (see "Technical description" on page 9).
Identification of spare parts
When requesting spare parts, always indicate the machine's serial number found on the test card and the
no. of the required part taken from the enclosed lists of spares.
SAFETY
General Safety Information
In the design and construction of this machine were adopted policies and measures that will meet the
essential safety requirements of the European Directive 2006/42/EC.
In particular, in the design and construction measures have been taken to prevent risk to the operator.
Full documentation on the measures taken for safety is contained in the technical dossier deposited at the
offices of Marini Quarries Group Srl
For some risks has not been possible to find solutions to project level. In this case, in this manual are the
safety precautions to be observed to operate as safely as possible.
CAUTION: Marini Quarries Group carefully follow the instructions, procedures, and
recommendations contained in this manual, to take all the precautions suggested by
good technique and to comply with current safety regulations.
Safety requirements
‐ Installation, maintenance and use of the machine are reserved for staff.
‐ Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance, make sure to turn off the engine control unit, and
remove the ignition key.
‐ Never remove stationary machine designed to protect the moving parts.
‐ Do not put your hands in the parts where it is possible a danger of crushing and / or entanglement.
‐ The operator, during the working operations and positioning, must be arranged at a safe distance with the
remote control, if available in the most protected position possible, in case of manual controls arranged
always behind the group commands.
‐ The lifting and transport the machine and moving part of it must be carried out with the machine off, by
trained personnel and suitable equipment.
‐ If it is necessary to replace components of the machine, use only original spare parts.
Risks identified by the analysis of hazards and dangerous situations at work
Contact with overhead power lines, shock, impact, impact, compression, vibration, slipping, falling over,
noise, shearing, crushing, material falling from above, mineral oils and derivatives, moving mechanical
parts, safety distances.

ENTANGLEMENT HAZARD AND CRUSHING
ALWAYS WORK SAFE!
In order to avoid dangerous situations and to protect your safety, observe the following rules and general
precautions:
Before using the rock drill, read these use instructions carefully and completely. Always follow the
described rules.
The rock drill can be used only by skilled operators on purpose
The rock drill can be used only for the purposes it is designed for.
The rock drill has to be used exclusively on drilling slides.
Verify that the rock drill has undergone maintenance according to the described instructions in this
manual.
Always wear protection clothes during the drilling operation: safety
working shoes, a helmet, working gloves, protective glasses, anti‐
noise devices and anti‐dust masks. Follow the local safety
measurements in force.
Drilling some materials may cause spark development. The MA100
ID rock drill is not approved for the use in environments with
explosion risk.
Be careful during the use of the machine. The drill steel is subject to
considerable loads and can break, causing injuries risk to people.
The steel holder should always be closed during the drilling procedures.
Before changing the drill steel, verify the deactivation of the air output to the machine
The drill steel is in rotation during the drilling operation. Therefore there is the risk of injuries in case of
contact with the drill steel. The operator should keep both his membranes and his working clothes at a
safety distance from the tool. Avoid wearing large clothes.
Check that the used hoses are of the right quality and that all the fittings are in good conditions and
suitably tightened. A loosen pipe doesn’t only have a loss, but can also disconnect itself completely
from the rock drill and cause injuries both to the operator and other present people: therefore keep an
adequate safety distance.
Never disconnect a pipe under pressure: always disconnect the air output and discharge the pressure in
the hammer before disconnecting a pipe.
Before starting any operation on one of the machine parts, verify that both the air circuit and water
circuit are without any pressure.

ATTENTION
The MA100 ID rock drill is exclusively used on drilling slides.
Therefore also follow carefully the operating instructions and
safety rules of the slide manufacturer during the use of the
rock drill.

Note: The MA 100 ID drill is interchangeable with the ID 160 rotation heads or the MA90 drills
mounted on our sleds.
MAINTENANCE
A daily maintenance, the regular check of pieces subject to wear and prompt execution of repairs are means
which avoid the turning up of failures and lengthen the effective life of the machine. Therefore we
recommend to respect the following intervention programme:
ATTENTION
Before starting the rock drill, check very carefully that all the connections of the feed
air tubes have been strongly tightened.
Each working shift (every 8 operation hours)
Grease the points indicated in the figure 1
Check the attachment of the nuts of the drill tie rods (based on the values indicated in the figure 2 page
11), with a torque wrench.
Check the closure and the integrity of the valves for the loading of the nitrogen accumulators.
Check the attachment of the accumulator bolts.
Check the rock drill connection to the slide.
Check the excellent condition of the hoses, connections and pipe fittings, in order to find possible losses
and to eliminate any risks to the operators.
Every week (every 40 operation hours)
Carry out a complete check of all the drill equipment activities.
Every two week (every 100 operation hours)
Check the nitrogen load of accumulators and integrity of the membranes.
Every month (every 200 operation hours)
It is recommended to disassemble the machine completely in order to have a general check of all its
components.
Whenever the drill is used for the injection of mortar or other hardening materials
through the filler (A), it is absolutely necessary to wash it, putting water through the
filler itself. After a thorough washing it is recommended to introduce a small
quantity of oil from the filler (A) simultaneously rotating for a few minutes.

Carry out regularly a total revision of all the machine parts according to the local operation conditions.
If there aren’t any skilled technicians on the premises, send the rock drill to a
workshop for inspection.

NOTE: Compliance with the indicated values is fundamental for the operation of the machine; use a torque
wrench.
The drill must be completely serviced after every 200 hours of actual work:
Check the conditions of the various components and their wear limits
Check the membrane of the low pressure accumulator
Substitute all of the O‐Ring gaskets and the high‐pressure accumulator membrane.
NOTE: After having reassembled the drill and performed a work shift, check all the tightening values for the
nuts and bolts.
ATTENTION:Use original MARINI pieces only. Damages and failures of whatever kind,
caused by the use of not original MARINI pieces, are covered neither by the
Guarantee nor by the product responsibility
ATTENTION:
AVOID USE OF INFLAMMABLE LIQUIDS
CAUTION: ONLY A TRAINED PERSON IS ALLOWED TO MAINTAIN THE DRIFTER. EVERY
NEGLIGENCE MAY CAUSE A RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.

CAUTION: Hydraulic hoses hight vibrations, or less performances of the drifter , may
be the sign that the accumulators are non‐correcly‐pressurized.
