Tidel Error Messages

Application Flash Error 1) Usually occurs after software download.

2) Save setup to floppy and perform a New System Startup in the


Program Menu or perform a cold start (J9 jumper)
Bad Floppy 1) Insure write protect tab is off.

2) Replace disk with a high density disk & perform Initialize Floppy

3) Perform “Floppy drive test” in system diagnostics. Verify Floppy


Drive light illuminates during test.

a) If not, verify 12 & 5VDC at the Floppy Drive. If correct, proceed to


next step.

b) If light illuminates but floppy drive test still fails, check


communication cable connection at the rear of the Floppy Drive &
terminal J6 on the Main PCB. (Red stripe should be on the left side,
facing Drive from rear). Attempt Floppy Drive test again.

4) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

b) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.

5) Possible defective Floppy Drive


Bad roller profile 1) Possible double detect needs adjustment. Adjust using double
detect adjustment kit & black melenix notes.

2) Inspect double detect rollers for damage.

3) Check for loose screws on each side of the Dispenser. Tighten if


necessary.

4) Check dispenser frame for damage or mishaped frame


Bill count equals zero 1) Re-enter amount of notes in cassette in the “Load Dispenser Count”
menu.
Bin Block check char error SDD Dispenser:

Bin cmd receive timeout 1) Dispenser communication interruption. Perform “Purge Dispenser”.

Bin cmd transmit timeout 2) Check power cable connection at rear of the Dispenser at PL2

Bin eot not received 3) Check communication cable connection at the rear of the Dispenser
& terminal J7 on the Main PCB.
Bin failed com write
4) Check voltages at the rear of the dispenser. Org=24VDC, Blu=-
Bin no ack received 12VDC, Wht=5VDC & Red=5VDC. If correct, check fuses in the top right
corner of the Dispenser PCB. If fuses are not blown, Dispenser PCB may
be defective.

5) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

b) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.

NMD Dispenser:

1) Dispenser communication interruption. Perform “Clear Dispenser


Errors”.

2) Check communication cable connection at terminal #18 of the


Dispenser Main PCB & terminal J28 on the ATM Main PCB.

3) Verify there is 110VAC at the power cord which plugs into the
dispenser power supply and that the power switch is on.

4) Verify 12 & 36VDC output from the 3-pin terminals on the Dispenser
Power Supply. If only 1 of the 3-pin terminal headers show incorrect
voltage reading, move the cable to an unused 3-pin header which has the
correct voltage. If all 3-pin terminals on the Dispenser Power Supply
show incorrect voltage readings, the Power Supply may be defective.

5) If no LED is illuminated on the “HOT” side of the Dispenser, check


power connection at terminal #10 on the Dispenser.
6) Possible defective Dispenser Main PCB.
Blocked Exit 1) Check for obstruction in delivery throat.

2) Clean lens on Exit Sensor with a soft dry cloth. **Do not use
solvents**

3) Check throat sensor connection at terminal #1 on the Stack


Presenter PCB (NMD)

4) Insure exit sensor cable are securely connected to positions 3,4,5 &
6 from the bottom up on terminal PL5

5) Possible defective Exit Sensor (SDD) or Bundle Output Unit (NMD).


Card Reader Failure 1) Perform power reset on unit.

2) Try a known working magnetic card.

3) Perform Card Reader Test in System Diagnostics.


Cassette data corrupted 1) Perform Clear Dispenser Errors

2) Perform Clear Note Qualifier table, then perform Calibrate


Cassettes all, in System Configuration.

3) Possible defective cassette (NMD).


Cassette-X Empty 1) Cassette empty. Re-load cassette.

2) Perform “Load Dispenser Count” & re-enter the number of notes


loaded in the cassette.

3) Empty Sensor on Note feeder dirty. Clean with soft dry cloth. **Do
not use solvents**

4) Very dark documents may generate this message.

5) Check for bent pins & connector seating at terminal #5 on the Note
Feeder PCB.

6) Possible defective Empty Sensor (requires replacement of Note


Feeder).
Cassette exit sensor failure 1) Dirty/obstructed Exit sensor on Note feeder

2) Check for bent pins & connector seating at terminal #5 on the Note
Feeder PCB

3) Possible defective Exit Sensor (requires replacement of Note


feeder).
Cassette faulty 1) Perform Clear dispenser errors.

2) Check note feeder connection at terminal #5 the Note feeder PCB’s

3) Check communication cable connections on terminals 1 & 2 on the


Note feeder PCB’s
4) Check the power connections on terminals 3 & 4 on the Note feeder
PCB’s

5) Check the cassette door motor connections on terminal #6 on the


Note feeder PCB’s

6) Check the cassette connection on terminal #7 on the Note feeder


PCB’s

7) Check the cassette door sensor connection on terminal #8 on the


Note feeder PCB’s.

8) Check all above connections for bent pins.

9) Cassette may be defective.


Cassette lock faulty 1) Perform “lifts down”, remove cassette & check for note jammed in
cassette door or feed path. Re-loading cassette is recommended. Insure
Note stack is at least 1 ½” deep before performing “Lifts up”.

2) Check for bent pins & connector seating at terminal #’s 5,6,7 & 8 on
the Note Feeder PCB.

3) Check connections at cassette socket (inside Note Feeder


assembly cassette cavity).

4) Insure cassette door drive motor & gears are properly engaged.

5) Exchange cassette with a working cassette. If problem follows


cassette, cassette may be defective. If problem stays in original cassette
position with another cassette, Note Feeder PCB may be defective.
Cassette-X Low 1) This error message should not take the unit offline. If will appear as
a warning in the “Error Menu”
Cassette Low
Cassette may have been 1) Cassette not recognized by dispenser. Perform “lifts up” & “clear
changed dispenser errors”

Cassette needs calibration 2) Check power connection at terminal #3 & 4 on All note feeder
PCB’s

3) Check communication cable connections at terminal #1 & 2 on All


note feeder PCB’s

4) In “System configuration” select “Enter calibration values”.

a) Enter the cassette number & press “Enter”.

b) Select “Document Symbol”

c) Enter a 3 digit document symbol (USD for U.S. Dollars or any 3


characters for any document different than U.S. Dollars. Press Enter &
then done.

d) Select “Calibrate cassette”


e) Enter the cassette # & press Enter.

f) Follow the instructions on the screen to finish calibration.

5) In System Configuration, perform Clear note qualifier table.

a) Perform Clear Dispenser errors.

b) Perform Calibrate cassettes all.

c) Attempt to put unit online.

6) Perform “Write Setup to floppy”

a) Perform “New system start up” in Program setup menu

b) Select “New system start up & calibrate NMD”

c) Follow the instructions on the screen to finish “ New system start


up”.

d) When program menu is displayed, perform “Restore setup from


floppy”

e) Perform “Clear dispenser errors”.

f) In system configuration, perform “Calibrate cassettes – all”

g) Follow instructions on screen to complete calibration.

h) Perform “Trial Close” & attempt to put unit Online.


Cassette not installed 1) Cassette not properly installed

2) Perform “Clear dispenser errors”

3) Check for bent pins & connector seating at terminal #’s 6,7 & 8 on
the Note feeder PCB.

4) Check connections at the cassette socket inside the Note feeder


cassette cavity.
Cassette-X Zero document 1) Perform “Load dispenser count” & and re-enter the number of notes
count currently loaded in the cassette.
Change floppy error 1) Insert a high-density disk into the Drive & attempt to put online,
(may require initialization).

2) Insure write protect tab is off.

3) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

b) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.
Delivery failure 1) Note was detected at every sensor except the delivery throat
sensor (bundle output unit). Perform “Clear dispenser errors”. Check
operation of Bundle Carrier Unit. Insure bundle carrier unit goes to the
reject cassette (Clear Dispenser Errors) or Bundle output unit (Live
Transactions).

2) Clean Delivery Sensor lenses with a soft clean cloth. **Do not use
solvents**

3) Insure bundle carrier unit is not skewed. If so, remove the bundle
output unit, remove the bundle carrier unit through the front of the stack
presenter (Handle the bundle carrier unit gently & with great care, non-
warranty damage can occur easily), reposition the bundle carrier unit onto
the track and re-install the bundle output unit. Perform “Clear Dispenser
Errors”.

4) Check operation of the shutter.

5) Possible defective bundle output unit.

6) Possible defective bundle carrier unit.

7) Possible defective stack presenter PCB.

8) Possible defective stack presenter Assy.


Diverter Error SDD Dispenser:

1) Count Sensor arm not detected in correct position. Check for jams
in diverter.

2) Insure the spring on the Count Sensor Arm is engaging the arm &
spring loaded action of the arm is present.

3) Check connection of the Count Sensor at pins 6,7 & 8 on the


Dispenser Main PCB.

4) Perform voltage check at test point #6 and ground to check


operation of count finger sensor. Voltage should read 5VDC when
blocked and 0VDC when not blocked.

5) Possible defective count sensor/timing sensor


NMD Dispenser

1) Rejected note was not “seen” at the Reject Sensor on the Diverter.
Check for Jams at the Diverter.

2) Check Diverter door, tabs & flapper for correct positioning &
installation.

3) Check connection of the Reject Sensor at terminal #15 on the


Dispenser Main PCB.

4) Check connection of the Diverter Motor at terminal #14 on the


Dispenser Main PCB.

5) Check cable connection of the Reject Sensor on the Diverter.


Door open with no logon 1) Door was opened prior to logging on as a Programmer, Manager or
User/Clerk. Place the unit On-line after viewing the Error Message.

2) Possible defective Door Switch or associated wiring.


Double detect mistrack 1) Perform purge dispenser in the Manager Menu

2) Adjust double detect using double detect adjust kit & black melenix
notes.

3) Perform Dispense & Reject Test in System Diagnostics. Check for


stream feed condition.

4) Possible defective count sensor. Perform voltage check at test


point #6 and ground to verify proper operation. Voltage should read
5VDC when blocked and 0VDC when not blocked.
Download card removal 1) Perform power reset & place unit back on-line
display
Empty cassette(s) 1) Perform Lifts Down, remove & open cassette to verify notes are
present in cassette. Note: Insure note stack is at least 1 ½” deep prior to
re-installing cassette & performing Lifts up.

2) Perform Load Dispenser Count & re-enter the number of notes


presently loaded in cassette.

3) Check for bent pins/connection at terminal #5 on the Note Feeder


PCB

4) Check for crimped/cut wires on Note Feeder cable.


Eprom error If error occurs after “purge dispenser” is performed:

1) Check fuses on dispenser main PCB (SDD).

2) Possible defective Dispenser Main PCB.


Error writing to flash 1) Write setup to floppy & perform cold start using J9 jumper on Main
PCB.

2) Possible defective Main PCB.


Exit Mistrack 1) Perform Purge Dispenser in Manager Menu.
2) Adjust double detect using double detect adjustment kit & black
melenix notes.

3) Check for reject tray full.

4) Possible defective count sensor.


Exit Quantified 1) Perform Purge Dispenser in Manager Menu

2) If sensor was just replaced, cables may be reversed.

3) Exit Sensor blocked or dirty. Remove obstruction or clean sensor


lenses with soft dry cloth.
Exit Sensor Blocked SDD Dispenser

1) Perform Purge Dispenser in Manager Menu.

2) Check delivery throat for obstructions.

3) Clean Exit Sensor lenses with a soft dry cloth. **Do not use
solvents**

4) Check connection of Exit Sensor at pins 10 & 11 on the Dispenser


Main PCB.

5) Possible defective Exit Sensor. To verify correct operation, block


Sensor. Check for 5VDC at test points A & B on the sensor. Remove
block & voltage should drop to 0VDC.

6) If correct voltage readings (above) are read, Dispenser Main PCB


may be defective.

NMD Dispenser:

1) Perform Clear Dispenser Errors in NMD Dispenser Menu.

2) Check Note Feeder for obstructions.

3) Clean Exit Sensor lenses with a soft cloth. **Do not use solvents**

4) Check for bent pins/connection at terminal #5 on the Note Feeder


PCB.

5) Check transport bets at rear of Dispenser.

6) Possible defective Exit Sensor, requiring replacement of Note


Feeder.
Exit Sensor Dirty 1) Clean Exit Sensor lenses with soft dry cloth. **Do not use
solvents**

2) Check connection at terminal #5 on the Note Feeder PCB.

3) Verify 12 & 36 VDC at the output terminals of the Dispenser Power


Supply. If incorrect, Power Supply may be defective.

4) Possible defective Note Feeder.

5) Possible defective Note Feeder PCB.


Feed Failure SDD Dispenser

1) Remove & reload cassette. Perform Purge Dispenser, place unit


back Online & test operation.

2) Perform Purge Dispenser.

If Dispenser motor runs:

a) Check condition of all belts on the Dispenser.

b) Check/adjust the Cassette retaining clips on the inside of the


Dispenser.

If Dispenser motor does not run:

a) Check power connection at the rear of the Dispenser.

b) Check the communication cable connection at the rear of the


Dispenser.

c) Check fuses in the top right corner of the Dispenser Main PCB.

3) Verify voltages at the rear of the Dispenser. ORN=24VDC, BLU=-


12VDC, WHT & RED=5VDC. If correct, Dispenser may be defective.

4) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

c) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.

NMD Dispenser:

1) Perform LIFTS DOWN, remove & reload cassettes. Verify bill count
is correct. Reinstall cassettes, perform LIFTS UP, and perform Clear
Dispenser Errors & place unit Online. Test operations.

2) Cassette guide rails improperly adjusted. For US Dollars, index


pointers should = Height> Pointers should both be at 9. Width> Pointers
should be at I on both sides (front & back) and I & H (front & back).

3) Verify packer plate is being driven toward door of cassette. (When


cassette is opened, if notes are loose or have fallen over, this indicates
packer plate is not being driven). Insure packer plate is engaging drive
belt & belt is on drive motor at the front of the cassette.

4) Check for bent pins/connection at terminal #5 on the Note Feeder


PCB.

5) Possible defective Cassette.

6) Possible defective Note Feeder.


Feed Mistrack 1) Adjust double detect using double detect adjustment kit & black
melenix notes.
Feed Sensor Blocked 1) Clean Timing Wheel & Count Sensors with a clean dry cloth **Do
not use solvents**

2) Check Dispenser for jammed notes.

3) Spring has come off count sensor arm. Check spring-loaded action
of arm.

4) Check Count Sensor connection at pins 6,7 & 8 on the Dispenser


PCB.

5) Possible defective Timing Wheel/Count Sensor. Perform voltage


check at test point #6 and ground to verify proper operation. Voltage
should read 5VDC when blocked and 0VDC when not blocked.

6) Possible defective Dispenser Main PCB.


Floppy Drive not Responding 1) Insure write protect tab is off.

2) Insert a High Density Disk (HD) into the Floppy Drive, perform
Initialize Floppy & attempt to place unit Online.

3) Perform Test Floppy & insure light on Floppy Drive illuminates

a) If light illuminates, check communication cable connection at the


rear of the Floppy Drive. (Red stripe should be on the left, facing the rear
of the Drive.

b) If light does not illuminate when Test Floppy is performed, verify 5 &
12VDC at the rear connection on the Floppy Drive. If correct, Floppy
Drive may be defective.

4) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.


a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

b) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.

5) Possible defective Floppy Drive.


Floppy in use 1) Replace high density disk and perform Initialize Floppy
Floppy Read Error 1) Perform “Test Floppy Drive” and insure disk has enough space is
available to hold info being stored to disk. Insure Floppy Disk light comes
Floppy Write Error on when test to performed. If not, proceed to #3.

Floppy write receipt error 2) Replace disk with a high-density disk, perform “Initialize floppy” and
attempt to write setup or receipt to floppy disk again.

3) Verify 12 & 5VDC at rear of Floppy Drive.

If correct:

a) Insure the write protect tab on disk is not on.

b) Check communication cable connection at rear of Floppy Drive


(Red stripe should be on left, facing rear of Floppy Drive).

c) Check communication cable connection at terminal J6 on the Main


PCB

d) Possible defective Floppy Drive

4) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

b) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.
Host msg 96 – Invalid msg 1) Verify terminal ID is programmed correctly in the Host Setup Menu.
sequence
2) Delete & re-enter the terminal ID, then perform 2 balance/trial
Host msg 97 – Bad sequence closes back to back

3) If problem is re-occuring, terminal ID may be programmed in
Host msg 99 – Bad terminal another unit at a different location.

Interface Recovery 1) Perform Purge Dispenser in Manager Menu.
Jam at Exit 1) Note not “seen” leaving the exit sensor. Perform lifts down, remove

2) Check cassette rails for proper adjustment (centered).

3) Check feed path at Note Feeder.

4) Check connection at terminal #5 on the Note Feeder PCB.

5) Check Note Feeder wiring harness for crimped or cut wires.

6) Possible defective Note Feeder.


Jam in Note Qualifier 1) Note was last “seen” at Double Detect Sensor but not “seen” at
Entrance Sensor of Stacker or Reject Sensor of Diverter.

2) Check for jams in Note Qualifier or Diverter.

3) Insure the Diverter is “snapped” securely in the proper position and


all doors are closed properly.

4) Check Reject Sensor connection at terminal #15 on the Dispenser


Main PCB

5) Check Stacker connection at terminal #13 on the Dispenser Main


PCB.
Jam in Note Stacker 1) Timing wheel not “seen” turning.

2) Check for jams in Stacker.

3) Check for broken belts

4) Perform clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu. Verify


Main Motor is running.
If main motor runs:

a) Check timing sensor connection at terminal #11 on the Dispenser


Main PCB

b) Check for Timing Wheel Sensor wires pinched between Stack


Presenter & Mono Note Feeder.

c) Verify Timing Sensor is mounted securely to Dispenser frame.

d) Insure Diverter is properly mounted and all doors are correctly


snapped in place.

e) Possible defective Timing Sensor

If Main Motor does not run:

a) Verify 12 & 36 VDC at Dispenser Power Supply outputs.

b) Check Power Supply connection at terminal #10 on the Dispenser


Main PCB.

c) Check Main Motor connection at terminal #9 on the Dispenser Main


PCB.

d) Check Double Detect connection at terminal #12 on the Dispenser


Main PCB & at the Double Detect Sensor.
Jam in Note Transport 1) Note was “seen” leaving the note feeder (exit sensor) but was not
seen at the Note Qualifier.

2) Open doors at the rear of the Note Feeders and check for jams.

3) Insure doors at the rear of the Note Feeder are not open.

4) Check for broken transport belts at the rear of the Note Feeders.
LID on floppy 1) Check door on Floppy Drive.

2) Insert a new high-density disk and perform an Initialize Floppy.


Perform Balance/Trial Close to verify operation.

3) Possible defective Floppy Drive.


Link Error 1) Perform purge dispenser in the Manager Menu

2) Possible defective link on Dispenser PCB.


Must perform close out 1) Perform balance/trial close & attempt to put online.
Must read NMD ID’s 1) Perform lifts down, remove & reinstall cassettes, perform lifts up &
perform clear dispenser errors in NMD Dispenser menu.

2) Peform Clear Note Qualifier table, then perform Calibrate Cassettes


all in the System Configuration Menu. (Cassettes must be installed &
have notes loaded for this procedure).
NMD Com Time Out 1) No communication between ATM Main PCB & Dispenser Main
PCB.

2) Check communication cable connection at J28 on the ATM Main

NMD Data Corrupt 1) Perform clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

2) Perform lifts down, remove & re-install cassettes, perform lifts up &
clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

3) Perform Clear Note Qualifier Table, then perform Calibrate


Cassettes All in the System Configuration Menu, (cassettes must be
installed & have notes loaded for this procedure).
NMD Error – Power or cables 1) Perform clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

2) Check communication cable connection at J28 on the ATM Main


PCB & terminal #18 on the Dispenser Main PCB.

3) Verify AC power is present at the Dispenser Power Supply & the


Power Supply is turned on.

4) Verify 12 & 36 VDC at the Power Supply outputs.

5) Check the power connection at terminal #10 on the Dispenser Main


PCB. Verify green light is on or blinking on the Dispenser PCB. If not,
Dispenser Main PCB may be defective.

6) Possible defective communication cable (Main PCB to Dispenser).


NMD Illegal command 1) Perform Clear Dispenser Errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

2) Check cassette configuration & cash template in the Cash Setup


Menu. Dispenser cannot dispense more than 40 notes in a single
transaction.
NMD Lifts are Down 1) Perform lifts up in NMD Dispenser Menu.
NMD Main Motor Failure 1) This error occurs when the Main Motor does not reach normal
speed within 5 seconds.

2) Check for jams in feed path, transport belts & Stacker.

3) Perform clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu. Verify


the Main Motor runs.

If Main Motor runs:

a) Check the Timing Sensor connection at terminal #11 on the


Dispenser Main PCB.

b) Insure the Timing Sensor wires are not pinched/cut between the
Stacker Presenter & the Mono Note Feeder assy.

c) Check the Bundle Output Unit connection at terminal #1 on the


Stack Presenter PCB.

d) Clean the Bundle Output Unit throat sensor lenses with a soft dry
cloth **Use no solvents**.

e) This message can be generated if the throat sensor detects


manipulation in throat before the Bundle Carrier Unit reaches the delivery
position.

If Main Motor does not run:

a) Verify AC power is present at the Dispenser Power Supply & the


Power Supply is turned on.

b) Check for 12 & 36 VDC at the Power Supply outputs.

c) Check the power connection at terminal #10 on the Dispenser Main


PCB.

d) Check the Main Motor connection at terminal #9 on the Dispenser


Main PCB.

e) Check the Double Detect connection at terminal #12 on the


Dispenser Main PCB & at the Double Detect sensor.
NMD Module needs service 1) Sensor unable to calibrate. Refer to NMD Sensor Check Chart.
NMD Sensor error 1) Check the Bundle output connection at terminal #1 on the Stack
Presenter PCB. Exposed trace should face the inside of the Dispenser.
NMD Shutter Failure 1) This error can be generated if the Shutter door is lifted while the unit
is in an idle mode.

2) In System Diagnostics, perform cycle shutter & observe operation


of shutter.

If Shutter operates but “hangs up”:

a) Check to see if Shutter door hangs on front of Dispenser. If so,


loosen screws that secure the Dispenser mounting racks, move the
Dispenser as far back as possible, & re-secure the screws.

b) Loosen the (4) nuts that secure the Shutter to the ATM door &
reposition the Shutter.

c) Verify plunger cam is not hanging on the plastic bushing on the


shutter door screws (small side of bushing should be facing plunger
cam). Do not remove the bushings.

d) Insure Shutter door is not contacting the mounting bracket (behind


the shutter door screws).

e) Insure proper play between plunger cam & shutter door. If not,
move retaining outward to achieve small gap.

f) Insure solenoid-mounting bracket is not bent.

If Shutter does not operate:

a) Check shutter connection at terminal #11 on the Stack Presenter PCB & J4 on the
Shutter PCB.

b) While solenoid should be activated, check for 12VDC at the top pin of terminal J2
on the Shutter PCB. Use a cabinet ground for this check. If both pins are used to check
voltage, reading will be incorrect. If voltage is present, solenoid may be defective.

c) Check for 5 & 12VDC at J3 on the Shutter PCB. If voltage is correct, the Shutter
PCB may be defective.

3) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-12VDC and
F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the fuses are lower than listed,
the Power Supply may be defective. If one or more of the voltages at the bottom of the
fuses are lower than listed, the fuse may be defective.

b) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC, yellow=12VDC,


purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of the voltages are lower than
listed, the Power Supply may be defective. Check voltages at the test points (to the left
of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or
more of the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be defective.
NMD Throat Error 1) This error can be generated if notes are not taken from delivery
position within 30 seconds of delivery.

2) Obstruction in delivery throat or dirty lenses. Clean lenses with a


soft dry cloth **Use no Solvents**

3) Shutter disabled in Engineering Diagnostics.

4) Bundle Carrier Unit skewed. Remove the Bundle Output Unit,


remove the Bundle Carrier Unit & reinstall both components.
***Handle/move the bundle carrier unit by the large metal rod & metal
cover only. Use great care! This component can be irreversibly
damaged.

5) Check cassette rail adjustment.

6) Check delivery position sensor at terminal #7 on the stack


Presenter PCB.
NMD Transmission Error 1) Perform clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

2) Insure AC power is present at the Dispenser Power Supply & the


Power Supply is turned on.

3) Check the communication cable connection at J28 on the ATM


Main PCB & terminal #18 on the Dispenser Main PCB.

4) Verify 12 & 36VDC at the Power Supply outputs. (Center is


ground).

5) Check the Main PCB to Stack Presenter communication cable


connection at terminal #10 on the stack presenter PCB and terminal #1
on the Dispenser Main PCB.

6) Check power connection at terminal #10 on the Dispenser Main


PCB. Insure green light on Dispenser Main PCB is on or blinking. If not,
the Dispenser Main PCB may be defective.
No Floppy in drive 1) Insure write protect tab is off.

2) Insure a high-density drive is inserted in the Floppy Drive.

3) Replace the disk with a new high-density disk, perform Floppy


Initialization & check the Error Menu for addition errors.

4) Floppy drive may be defective.


No Note at Double Detect 1) Note was “seen” at note feeder exit sensor but not at Double Detect
Sensor.

2) Insure all Note Feeder doors are fully closed.

3) Open all Note Feeder doors & check for jams. Insure doors are
fully closed when done.

4) Check for belts off/broken at the rear of the Dispenser.


No Notes Retracted 1) Notes were delivered but not removed from the delivery position.
When the Dispenser retracted the bundle carrier unit to place the note
stack in the reject cassette, the dispenser detected notes leaving the
delivery throat.

2) Perform Clear Dispenser Errors.


Note Qualifier Faulty 1) Double Detect Sensor is unable to calibrate.

2) Insure the door on the cassette side of the Note Qualifier is fully
closed & the handle is locked in place.

3) Check for jammed notes in the Note Qualifier.

4) Check Double Detect connection at terminal #12 on the Dispenser


Main PCB & at the sensor on top of the Note Qualifier.

5) Defective Double Detect Sensor.


Note Too Long at Exit 1) Length of the note leaving the Note Feeder was incorrect.

2) Possible notes sticking together. Remove the cassette & check the
condition of the notes.
NMD Dispenser:

1) Verify the spring on the Note Feeder (which keeps pressure on the
counter rotating roller) is in place in the cassette cavity.

2) Check belt on right side of Note Feeder (counter rotating roller belt).

SDD Dispenser:

1) Perform Dispense & Reject Test. Check for stream feeding


condition or skewed notes.

2) Check all belts on Dispenser.

3) Clean exit sensor lenses, Do Not Use Solvents.

4) Check voltage between A and B test points on the exit sensor.


5VDC should be measured when blocked and 0VDC when not blocked.

5) Check double detect adjustment.


Notes in Delivery Throat 1) This message will be generated if the notes remain in the delivery
throat for more than 30 seconds after being delivered.

2) Perform clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

3) Check for obstruction in delivery throat.

4) Dirty sensor. Clean sensor lenses with a soft dry cloth **Use no
Solvent**.
Operation Timeout 1) Command to dispenser has timed out. Perform Purge Dispenser in
Manager Menu.
Paper Low 1) No Paper or paper loaded improperly. Insure paper is routed
between round bar & the paper low switch bracket.

2) Paper low switch out of adjustment. Bend bracket slightly toward


paper.

3) Check connection at P8 on the Printer PCB (Epson) or CN3


(Fujitsu) on the Printer Communication PCB.

4) Paper Low switch may be defective. Test using System


Diagnostics.
Printer Timeout Epson printers:

1) Perform printer reset (apply power while holding feed button down),
then perform Cancel Print.

If printer performs a test print-out:

a) Verify correct printer selection in Engineering Diagnostics menu &


attempt to print a report to verify operation.

b) Check the communication cable connection at the Printer PCB &


J15 on the Main PCB.

c) Printer PCB may be defective.

If printer does not perform a test print-out:

a) Ohm paper feed button or verify operation using System


Diagnostics.

b) Check fuses on the Power Distribution PCB.

c) Verify 5 & 12VDC at the Printer PCB terminal P10. If correct,


Printer may be defective.
Printer Timeout cont. 2) Check voltages at the power distribution PCB.

a) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the

voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.
Printer Timeout Fujitsu printers:

1) Insure Printer throat lever is down.

2) Insure correct printer type is selected in System Configuration.

3) Perform printer reset (apply power while holding feed button down),
then perform Cancel Print.

If printer performs a test print-out:

a) Verify correct printer selection in Engineering Diagnostics Menu &


attempt to print a report to verify operation.

b) Check the communication cable connection at the Printer PCB &


J15 on the Main PCB.

c) Printer PCB may be defective.

If Printer does not perform a test print-out:

a) Ohm paper feed button or verify operation using System


Diagnostics.

b) Verify 5 & 24VDC at the Printer PCB. If correct, Printer may be


defective.

4) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power DistributionPCB may be
defective.
Ram Corruption 1) Perform Purge Dispenser in Manager Menu

Ram Error 2) Check fuses on Dispenser Main PCB

3) Possible Defective Dispenser Main PCB.


Reject Bin not Installed 1) Perform lifts down, remove & reinstall reject cassette, perform lifts
up & clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.

2) Check reject cassette connection at terminal #5 on the Stack


Presenter PCB.

3) Check body of reject cassette for proper assembly, cracks, damage


etc…
Reject Cassette almost full 1) This error message does not take the unit offline. If the unit is
offline, there should be another error message in the Error Menu.

2) The number of notes in the reject cassette has exceeded 75% of


the cassette’s capacity.

3) Perform lifts down, remove & reinstall cassette, perform lifts up &
clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.
Reject Cassette Full 1) The number of notes in the reject cassette has exceeded the
maximum capacity (200 bundle notes or 50 single notes).

2) Perform lifts down, remove & reinstall cassette, perform lifts up &
clear dispenser errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu.
Reject Failure 1) Notes were rejected but not “seen” by the reject sensor on the
Diverter or bundle reject sensor on the Stack Presenter.
2) Check for jams in the Diverter or Bundle Carrier Unit.

3) Check the reject sensor connection at terminal #15 on the


Dispenser Main PCB.

4) Check the bundle reject sensor connection at terminal #4 on the


Stack Presenter PCB.

5) Check the Stack Presenter Control connection at terminal #2 on the


dispenser Main PCB.

6) Check the Stacker connection at terminal #13 on the Dispenser


Main PCB.

7) Check the Power Supply connection at terminal #10 on the Stack


Presenter PCB.

8) Inspect the Bundle Carrier unit for damage. (If Clear Dispenser
Errors is performed and the Bundle Carrier Unit attempts to go to the
Reject Cassette 3 times before returning home, check for fingers “popped
off” round metal bars).

9) Perform the following procedure:

a) Perform clear dispenser errors.

b) The Stacker motor should run, then the Bundle carrier unit should
travel to the Reject cassette.

c) If the Stacker motor begins to run while the Bundle carrier unit is still
in the reject position, and the process is performed 3 times, the Reject
cassette may be defective.

10) Perform Clear Dispenser Errors and check operation of Reject


Cassette door. If door does not open, the Bundle Carrier will not attempt
to travel to the reject cassette.
Reject rate exceeded 1) Remove the cassette & check the condition of notes in the cassette.

2) Adjust the double detect using the double detect adjustment kit &
black melenix notes.

3) Do a cold start (J9 jumper).


Scheduler/Kernel Error 1) Download the latest version of software.
Select cash amount error 1) Cassette bill count may be at 0.

2) Check cassette denomination & cash template in Cash Setup Menu


for discrepancies. (Example: cassette is setup for $20.00 & there is a
$30.00 selection in the cash template.

3) Check maximum amount in Cash Setup Menu. May be lower than


highest selection in cash template.

a) If maximum amount has changed to $68.00 (odd/fractional dollar


amounts may also be present on report), check the software version.
Version 1.13 -–A cold start can be performed to remedy the problem, but
the symptoms may re-occur, to upgrade software, the Main PCB will have
to be replaced. Version 2.02 can be remedied by performing a telephone
download and upgrading to the latest version of software.

4) Re-enter the cassette bill count.


Suspect Exit Accountancy 1) Perform Purge Dispenser.

2) Exit Sensor blocked or dirty. Clear obstruction or clean sensor


lenses with a soft dry cloth.

3) Check Exit Sensor connection at PL5 on the Dispenser PCB


(gray=pins 10 & 11, black=pins 12 & 13).
Telephone, Modem Problem 1) Check for dedicated phone line. Insure no other equipment is
sharing phone line.

2) If AIMS outgoing calls are enabled, disable outgoing calls, perform


power reset on unit & attempt transaction again.

3) Check terminal ID and phone #’s

4) Connect a phone line from the wall socket directly to the Main PCB
& attempt transaction again. If problem still occurs, the modem may be
defective.

5) If transaction works, check phone cables (Main PCB to Power


Distribution PCB & Power Distribution PCB to wall socket.

6) Check phone line jacks on Power Distribution PCB for damage.


Timing Wheel SDD Dispenser:

1) Check timing wheel for cracks or damage.

2) Check all belts on Dispenser.

3) Perform purge dispenser in the Manager Menu.

If Dispenser does not run:

a) Verify voltages at the rear of the Dispenser, 24VDC=orng, -


12VDC=blu & 5VDC=wht & red. If voltages are correct at the rear of the
dispenser, check the fuses in the top left corner of the Dispenser PCB
(facing dispenser from rear).

If Dispenser does run:

a) Check fuses in the top left corner of the Dispenser Main PCB
(facing rear of dispenser).

b) Loosen timing sensor bracket screws, move the sensor toward the
timing wheel & secure the screws.

c) Check the timing sensor connection at the top 3 pins of pl5 on the
Dispenser PCB.

d) Connect voltmeter leads to test points 3 & ground to check the


Timing Sensor PCB. Slowly rotate the right side belt. When the Timing
wheel blocks the sensor 5VDC should be measured. When unblocked,
no voltage should be read. If not, Timing Sensor may be defective.

4) Check voltages at the Power Distribution PCB.

c) If unit is equipped with slow blow fuses:

Check voltages at top of the fuses. F1 and F2=5VDC, F3=12VDC, F4=-


12VDC and F5=24VDC. If one or more of the voltages at the top of the
fuses are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective. If one or
more of the voltages at the bottom of the fuses are lower than listed, the
fuse may be defective.

d) If unit is equipped with resettable fuses:

Check voltages at terminal J1 on the Distribution PCB, (both red=5VDC,


yellow=12VDC, purple=-12VDC and orange=24VDC). If one or more of
the voltages are lower than listed, the Power Supply may be defective.
Check voltages at the test points (to the left of) F1=5VDC, F2=12VDC
and F3=-12VDC, and (to the right of) F4=24VDC. If one or more of the
voltages are lower than listed, the Power Distribution PCB may be
defective.

5) Check the communication cable connection at PL6 on the


Dispenser & J7 on the Main PCB.

6) Check the 2 motor connections on the Dispenser Main PCB.

7) Dispenser may be defective.


Timing Wheel NMD Dispenser:

1) Check for jams in Stacker & feed path. Perform clear dispenser
errors in the NMD Dispenser Menu, verify the Dispenser runs.

If Dispenser does not run:

a) Verify AC power is present at the Dispenser Power Supply & Power


Supply is turned on.

b) Verify 12 & 36VDC at the Dispenser Power Supply outputs.

c) Check power connection at terminal #10 on the Dispenser Main


PCB.

d) Check main motor connection at terminal #9 on the Dispenser Main


PCB.

e) Insure green light is on or blinking on the hot side of the Dispenser


Main PCB. If not the Dispenser Main PCB may be defective.
If Dispenser does run:

a) Check for broken belts on the hot side of the Dispenser.

b) Check timing wheel sensor connection at terminal #11 on the


Dispenser Main PCB. Insure cable is not pinched between Stack
Presenter & Mono Note Feeder.

c) Insure timing wheel sensor is secured on the frame & positioned so


that the timing wheel rotates in the sensor.

d) Inspect timing wheel for cracks or damage.

e) Possible defective timing sensor.


Too many notes 1) More than 40 notes were required to complete the requested
transaction.
Too many notes requested
2) Check the cassette setup & cash template in the Cash Setup Menu
for discrepancies.
Turn off audio alarm 1) Silences audible beeper until problem is solved or unit goes offline
again.
TX File date error 1) Print TX report and perform Cancel Print.

2) Cold start (J9 jumper).

3) Perform telephone download and download latest version of


software.

4) Possible defective Main PCB.


Vend Short Amount of notes requested were not dispensed. This message should be
accompanied by another error message. Refer to that message.
Waiting Reversal Completion 1) Amount of transaction was not completely fulfilled, processor has
not indicated reversal has completed.

2) Perform power reset.

3) May require new system start-up to correct.


Wrong count 1) Possible stream feed condition. Perform lifts down, remove feed
cassettes, & verify spring for counter rotating roller is present on Note
Feeder.

2) Check belt on right side of Note Feeder.

3) Open cassettes & check for high pressure on note stack, check
Note Feeder connection on terminal #5 of the Note Feeder PCB. If note
feeder connection is proper, pressure sensor in Note Feeder may be
defective.

4) Insure Diverter door is closed & yellow tabs are on outside of door.

5) Check for jams in Diverter.

6) Check Diverter Motor connection at terminal #14 on the Dispenser


Main PCB.
