Welcome
to
Scoring
Secrets!
First
off,
I
want
to
congratulate
you.
Most
players
aren’t
willing
to
invest
in
their
game,
and
this
will
be
your
competitive
advantage
over
everyone
else.
So
thank
you
for
being
a
dedicated
enough
player
of
ACTION
to
take
the
first
step
towards
reaching
your
goals.
There’s
nothing
I
enjoy
more
than
helping
players
like
you
–
those
who
are
willing
to
go
against
the
grain,
above
and
beyond
the
competition,
and
put
their
heart
and
soul
into
the
game.
You
have
an
amazing
future
ahead
of
yourself,
and
I’m
incredibly
excited
right
now
because
I
know
that
I
can
help
you
get
there.
So
enough
with
the
love
fest,
let’s
get
down
to
business.
This
manual
is
designed
to
accompany
your
Scoring
Secrets
of
the
Pros
video.
It
is
your
cliff
notes,
your
“swipe
file,”
if
you
will,
to
the
main
video.
It
is
designed
to
supplement
the
material
in
that
video,
and
allow
for
quick
review.
It’s
short,
sweet,
and
to
the
point
so
that
you
can
quickly
and
easily
reference
it
at
short
notice.
The
bottom
line
is,
these
are
techniques
you
downright
NEED
to
know.
The
real
big‐timers
know
exactly
what
to
do
at
exactly
the
right
times,
and
more
importantly,
why
they
are
doing
it.
They
can
read
the
defense,
react,
and
then
Make.
Them.
Pay.
And
that’s
what
it’s
all
about.
So
let’s
not
waste
any
more
time.
Sit
back,
relax,
pop
in
your
copy
of
Scoring
Secrets
of
the
Pros,
get
out
the
notepad
and
let’s
get
to
work.
The
Critical
Scoring
Skills
1.) Defender
Control:
How
well
you
read,
react
to,
and
control
your
defender’s
movement
on
the
court.
2.) Perimeter
Play:
Your
ability
to
use
moves,
angles
and
tricks
on
the
perimeter
to
beat
the
defense
off
the
dribble
and
off
the
catch.
3.) Midrange
Game:
Nothing
gets
a
coach
more
excited
than
a
player
who
can
stop
and
pop
at
any
time
against
any
defender
4.) Finishing
Strong:
It’s
what
Kobe,
MJ
and
D‐Wade
all
have
in
common.
Now
you
can
join
that
group.
5.) Scoring
Without
The
Ball:
Add
an
extra
6‐8
points
per
game
to
your
scoring
average
just
by
recognizing
the
scoring
opportunities
that
are
already
in
front
of
you
Here’s
a
brief
overview
of
what
each
concept
means,
and
what
we
will
cover
in
each
more
in‐depth
video
segment:
Defender
Control
*
Every
game
is
a
tug‐of‐war
of
control
between
you
and
your
defender.
Either
you

or

Know

you’re

to
make
your
defender
do
on
the
court
to
guard
you
‐
Develop
the
ideal
reactions
to
every
movement
they
make
‐
Keep
the
control
in
your
hands.

Scoring
Without
The
Ball
*
You
can
add
6‐8
points
per
game
to
your
scoring
average
just
by
mastering
these
concepts
‐
Learn
to
properly
create
space
without
the
ball
and
get
open
against
lock‐down
defense
‐
Come
off
screens
efficiently
and
learn
to
shoot
and
score
on
the
move
‐
Take
advantage
of
the
3
biggest
scoring
opportunities
most
players
miss
entirely
on
the
court,
and
look
to
score
off
at
least
one
of
them
per
quarter
The
Kill
Zone
*
Always
look
to
attack
this
spot
on
the
floor
when
you
can.
Don’t
force
it,
but
this
is
the
one
place
where
you
can
create
the
MOST
options
for
your
team:
You
can:
‐
Pull
up
or
shoot
a
floater
‐
Dump
pass
to
the
big
man
‐
Finish
at
the
rim
‐
Skip
pass
out
for
a
3
(European
teams
do
this
well,
and
are
looking
for
players
who
can
see
this
pass.
Remember
that
if
your
goal
is
to
play
in
Europe.)
Scoring
in
Bunches
*
Every
great
player
looks
to
score
in
bunches
and
go
on
runs
rather
than
consistently
scoring
throughout
the
game.
There
are
3
reasons
for
this:
1.) Leaves
more
time
to
distribute
the
ball
2.) Creates
more
authority
for
you
and
is
more
memorable
3.) Allows
you
to
control
the
flow
of
the
game
a
lot
easier
The
best
times
to
look
to
go
on
a
run
are:
1.) The
start
of
the
second
quarter
2.) The
end
of
the
third
quarter
3.) The
middle
of
the
fourth
quarter
*Note:
This
only
applies
to
tough
games
where
you
really
need
to
strategize.
Diversification
vs
Riding
*
Know
your
defender
AHEAD
of
time
–
do
you
have
a
mismatch?
Diversification:
Using
multiple
scoring
methods
(midrange,
perimeter,
shooting,
driving,
etc)
against
one
single
defender
‐
Use
this
when
you’re
playing
against
a
good
defender
who
is
roughly
your
size,
where
there’s
no
big
mismatch
Riding:
Using
one
single
method
of
scoring
on
one
defender
‐
Use
this
against
a
mismatched
defender.
If
they
are
shorter,
shoot
overtop
or
post
up.
If
they
are
slower,
go
to
the
hoop.
Simple,
but
you
have
to
know
your
defender
ahead
of
time.
Know
The
Defense
*
Here’s
what
you
need
to
be
looking
for
BEFORE
the
game
starts
(always
be
scouting
the
other
team)
1.) How
tall
is
the
other
team?
How
tall
is
your
defender?
2.) How
athletic
are
they
compared
to
you?
3.) What
is
their
defense
like?
Do
they
play
tough
in‐your‐face
defense
or
do
they
sag
off?
4.) What
do
they
think
of
you?
Do
they
expect
you
to
be
shooting
all
game?
*
Always
know
ahead
of
time
going
in
so
that
you
can
attack
them
with
the
CORRECT
methods
right
away
The
Wrap
Up
This
manual
is
designed
so
that
you
can
reference
it
quickly
to
sharpen
your
mind
for
scoring.
Most
of
it
is
basic
(it’s
only
module
one,
remember),
but
they
are
concepts
that
you
NEED
to
know
and
look
for
throughout
the
videos.
Continue
to
reference
this
manual
(c’mon,
it’s
only
ten
pages!)
as
you
progress
through
your
career.
Review
the
principles
and
commit
to
ingraining
them
into
your
game.
You
will
be
successful.
There
is
information
in
this
manual
that
most
players
will
never
even
know
about.
Being
a
Scoring
Secrets
student,
you
have
taken
action
to
be
better
than
the
rest.
You
will
be
successful.
