Resources
 Teen Drug Use Increases… According to the National Institute’s on Drug Abuse 2010 Monitoring
the Future survey, drug use among teens has increased. Marijuana use was up in all grades surveyed.
The survey measured and reported a change in teen attitudes about the dangers of drug use and
perceptions about drug availability. This data confirms a continued softening in young peoples’
attitudes toward drugs, particularly marijuana. Click this site for an excellent parent handout
concerning marijuana: http://www.well.com/user/woa/fspot.htm.

 Protect Your Teen on the Road… As teens take to the roads, you can take action by talking
about the dangers of drugged and drunk driving. Parents are the most important\ influence on their
teen when is comes to risky behaviors, including substance abuse and driving. The National Youth
Anti-Drug Media Campaign provides FREE online resources for community leaders and parents of
teen drivers. For more information, go to: http://www.theantidrug.com/resources/impaired-
driving.aspx.

 2010 Kids Count Data Book… Updated statistics on indicators for Indiana youth are now
available for download. A great resource when writing grants! For an online copy:
