OGT Week PE / Health PHS College Fair

Spring OGT week is March 14-18. In
order to ensure a quiet testing
environment, 11th and 12th grade
students will come in at 10:15 on days
of tests that they have passed. All 9th
and 10th grade students – and
upperclass students needing to pass an
OGT – must report at the regular 7:15
time. Busses will run at the regular time
as well as three and a half hours later
for those upperclass students. For a full

PCSD’s annual Festival of Arts is this Sunday, March 6 from noon to 5pm. Come to PHS
to see performances by district music groups as well as the best artwork from students
all across the district. There will also be a bake sale to benefit Pasta for Pennies.
The physical education and health
department continues to support
OGT preparation with their science
review Wednesdays as well as
providing reading and writing in
addition to skills assessments.
While seeing the loss of one of the
school’s most popular classes – golf
and bowling – due to budget cuts,
the department continues to offer
non-traditional offerings such as
introduction to sports medicine,
aerobics, and weight training.
PHS’s annual college fair
will be held from 6:30-
8pm on Wednesday,
March 9 in the PHS
cafeteria. All parents and
students are invited.
Representatives will be
available from colleges
and universities, the
military, test preparation
organizations, and
financial aid agencies.
More than fifty colleges
have already confirmed
their attendance.
In addition to the college
fair, PHS will be hosting
a Paying for College
workshop about how the
current economic
conditions can impact
financial aid and how to
simplify and maximize
financial aid for families
of all income levels. This
workshop will be held at
5:30 and 7pm in the
Community Room.

PCSD Finances
Princeton is facing an
unprecedented financial crisis
due to a combination of cuts in
state funding and rising personnel
costs. The Board last month
announced its intention to cut $8
million from the 2011-12 budget
and has identified $4.6 million in
cuts so far. The positions already
identified to be cut are: 33
certified staff (teachers), 24 non-
certified support staff, 5.75

technology, textbooks and sports
uniforms has also been frozen
