The Federal Interagency Committee on Emergency Medical Services (FICEMS) invites you to an all day
pre-‐conference event on March 2, 2011 at the EMS Today Conference in Baltimore, MD.
Federal Departments and Agencies from across the United States Government will be on hand to
provide brief overviews of their respective Emergency Medical Service (EMS) programs and activities
followed by cutting edge panels on EMS specific topics. Speakers listed below are subject to change.

x 1230 – 1315: Public Forum for Input Regarding a Federal Lead Office for EMS
FICEMS is pleased to offer attendees an opportunity to provide input regarding the concept of a
Federal Lead Agency for EMS at this public forum. Participants can provide input directly to FICEMS
on this important issue.

The Chair of the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS, Dr. Alexander G. Garza, Assistant Secretary
for Health Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Homeland Security will moderate a
panel of EMS representatives from the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Health
and Human Services, and Department of Transportation as they answer questions from the
audience about their current EMS programming.
