• Prepare tender applications and presentations

• Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications,
materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs, and construction
time.
• Preparing drafts, plan layouts and designing the site plan and
making scaled drawings of the project.
• Design and development of premium apartments and
commercial spaces, keeping in line with the Company ideology
• Finalize concept design and schematic design
• Integrate engineering element into unified design
• Prepare and administer contract documents for building
contractors.
• Liaise with other architects and interior designer in case
schematic design involves interiors
• Supervise the design development
• Track and monitor preparation of final drawings/construction
drawings by consultants and structural designs
• Ensure that the construction drawing and structural drawings
are in sync with each other
• Direct and guide draughtsman for preparation of various
drawings
• Ensure adherence of project timelines and progress

requirements of structure.

3. Third round could take place again with the above Senior Manager
or Director along with the Chairman, MD and/or Owner for the final
selection. Depending on the seniority of the appointment as well as
the complexity involved in processing the candidature, the above
different processes could happen on the same day, or even spread
out over a period of time as per the convenience of all concerned, or
as required by the priority of the appointment.
Limitations
1. No assessment device / tool is used to screen the candidate for this
role i.e. paper pencil test, Psychometric test, Situational tests, role
plays or managerial games etc.
2. Case study based interviews / tests are not conducted to indentify
the skill level.
3. More emphasizes on past records/work/project
4. Difficult to find dedicated/fulltime Architect for an organization as
most of them prefer to do freelancing.
5. Police verification is also absent.
6. Reference check is not conducted.

Synopsis
Simple selection process is followed in most of the organization
comprising of 2-3 rounds of interviews. The job specification is more
or less the same in all the organisations. Job description too is mostly
common in all the organisations where the architect needs to prepare
information about the design, materials, estimated costs, consulting
with clients and planning layout of the project. So even though the
company profile might be different, the basic skill sets to perform a
task for an architect remains the same.
