The Minidoka County Joint School District No. 331 Board of Trustee’s will pay classified
substitutes for services rendered when substituting as outlined by this pay policy.
1. All pay for classified substitutes who sub for food service subs, kindergarten provider
aides and long term subs shall be paid from a Certificate of Absence form on an hourly
basis. The total hours worked must be noted on the COA. A check-in time and check-out
time must also be noted on the Certificate of Absence. The Certificate of Absence will be
turned into the District Attendance Clerk on a weekly basis by the work site secretary.
The hourly rate of pay will be calculated for classified substitutes according to their
appropriate certification that is held on file by the District Office. The hourly
compensation will be paid on a monthly basis as part of the districts’ regular scheduled
payroll.
2. Regular School Day - Classified subs will be hired on an hourly basis. The substitute will
be notified by the district sub caller what position they are subbing for, which work site
they are to report to, the hour to report to work and the time that the substitute will cease
to work. Specific work hours for the substitute will be indicated by the classified position
for which the substitute is engaged.
3. Minimum Full Day - Classified subs will be hired on an hourly basis. The substitute will
be notified by the district sub caller what position they are subbing for, which work site
they are to report to, the hour to report to work, and the time that the substitute will cease
to work. Specific work hours for the substitute will be indicated by the classified position
for which the substitute is engaged.
4. Friday Elementary Early Release day - Classified subs will be hired on an hourly basis.
The substitute will be notified by the district sub caller what position they are subbing
for, which work site they are to report to, the hour to report to work and the time that the
substitute will cease to work. Specific work hours for the substitute will be indicated by
the classified position for which the substitute is engaged.
5. Jury Duty - If a sub is hired to substitute for a classified position employee that has been
called to Jury Duty, the school will employee the classified sub on an hourly basis.
