COURSE DESCRIPTION
This subject covers the design and investigation of wooden structural members using Allowable Stress Design and NSCP code specifications.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)


a. Hold lead roles in the practice of Civil Engineering and its related fields.
b. Continue to gain new knowledge and skills through personal and professional development.
c. Exemplify the Josenian values and the spirit of “ Caritas et Scientia” (Love and Knowledge) through involvement in community-oriented endeavors.

PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES


a. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, physical and information sciences, and engineering sciences to the practice of civil engineering.
b. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
c. An ability to design, build, improve, and install systems or processes which meet desired needs within realistic constraints.
e. An ability to recognize, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
f. An understanding on the effects and impact of civil engineering projects on nature and society, and of the civil engineer’s social and ethical responsibilities.

CLASSROOM POLICIES:

5. No special quiz will be administered unless recommended by the dept. Chair or Dean.
