What is the fuel/oil ratio?

A 50:1 ratio with mid-grade (89 octane) or premium (93 octane) fuel can be used in all ECHO
2-stroke equipment, provided the oil is ISO-L-EGD and JASO M345 FD certified. A 50:1 Ratio =
1 US Gal. 89 octane/93 octane + 2.6 fl. oz. ECHO PowerBlend® Oil or ECHO Red Armor® Oil.

My product will not start. What could be the problem?

Flooded engine: If the starter rope was pulled several times while the choke was in the
cold/closed position and the engine will not start, the engine may be flooded.

Step #1: Check the on/off switch. Move the swtich to the run position (down).
Step #2: Move the choke lever to the run position (down).
Step #3: Depress the primer bulb until fuel enters the bulb and fuel returns back ot the fuel tank
through the clear fuel line.
Step #4: With the unit resting on the ground, depress the throttle trigger and pull the starer rope
several times back to back. A flooded engine will take approximately 6 to 8 pulls to get the
engine started.
Fuel and Oil: The fuel must be less than 30 days old (90 days with a stabilizer), mid-grade (89
octane) or premium (93 octane), free of water and dirt.

Fuel Delivery System: The fuel lines should be free of cracks and/or kinks, fuel filter should be
clean, primer bulb should fill will fuel.

Spark/Ignition System: The spark plug should be clean or replaced and gapped at 0.24"-.026".
Check all wire to make sure they are not cracked and/or pinched.

Air Intake System: The air filter should be clean, no dirt or obstructions in the air filter case.

Carburetor: The carburetor may need to be cleaned, adjusted, rebuilt or replaced.

octane) or premium (93 octane), with the proper 50:1 ratio.

Fuel Delivery System: The fuel lines should be free of cracks and/or kinks, vent line may be
pinched or bent, fuel filter should fall to the bottom of the fuel tank.

Spark/Ignition System: The spark plug should be clean or replaced and gapped at 0.24"-.026".
The ignition module/coil may need to be tested and possibly replaced (If the module/coil has
faulted, the unit will die out and will need to cool down before restarting).

Air Intake System: The choke lever should be working and not in the cold start position (up).

Carburetor: The carburetor may need to be cleaned, adjusted, rebuilt or replaced.

Is there a shoulder strap available for the Handheld Blowers?

At the current time, ECHO does not offer any shoulder straps.

My blower tubes are hard to install/remove. What could be the problem?

Initially, the blower tubes will be a tight fit. Warm, soapy water can be applied to the tubes for
ease of installation and removal.

Can additional blower tubes be used on my product?

It is not recommended to add additional blower tubes. The increase in blower tube length will
increase the engine load and reduce the engines RPM's.

How can I clean the product?

Stop the engine. Clean dirt and debris form the product using a damp cloth with a mild
detergent. Never use brake fluid, gasoline, petroleum based products, or any strong solvents to
clean your product. Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are
susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their
use.

What are the storage recommendations?

Do not store your unit for a prolonged period of time (30 days or longer) without performing
protective storage maintenance which includes the following:

Store unit in a dry, dust free place, out of the reach of children.
Place the stop switch in the stop position.
Remove accumulation of grease, oil, dirt and debris from exterior of unit.
Perform all periodic lubrication and services that are required.
Tighten all the screws and nuts.
Drain fuel tank completely. Press purge bulb 6-7 times to remove remaining fuel from
carburetor then drain the tank again. Close choke, start and run the engine until it stops due

to lack of fuel.
Allow engine to cool. Remove the spark plug lead from the spark plug. Remove the spark
plug. Pour 7 cc (0.25 oz.) of fresh, clean, two-stroke engine oil into the cylinder through the
spark plug hole.
Pull the recoil starter handle 2-3 times to distribute the oil inside the engine.
Observe the piston location through the spark plug hole. Pull the recoil handle slowly until
the piston reaches the top of its travel and leave it there.
Install the spark plug. Connect the spark plug lead to the spark plug.
Remove blower tubes from unit.
