~Patanjali Yoga Sutra (II, 49)

The Yoga is scientific – It is about control of mind. Its central part

recognized by psychologists and medics. The simple fact that
breath can serve as a handle to our emotional state of being and

therapy, which elevates normal humans to the domain of super-
Humans. There is a tendency in many people to give exclusive or
undue importance to the technical feature of Pranayama at the cost
of its essential and subtle nature. In absence of the knowledge of,
which is the essential and the relevant aspect of the technique, and
which is the superfluous and optional aspect; the student misses the
opportunity of entering into deeper and spiritual experiences.

grasp this essential nature of the Pranayama.

Therapeutic Hand Mudras

~A 1 Day(6 hours) intensive workshop by Dr. Indu Arora
“Anyone, who can breathe do Mudras.”

Mudra is the ancient Yogic art and science of gesturing and sealing vital pranic energies in the
human body for health, well being and spiritual evolution. It also works as a therapy for the body
and mind by balancing the ratio of five elements (panch tattvas) when done with hands. Along with
Asanas, Mudras are employed along with Yogic Meditation to energize the Chakras and calm the
mind.

Description of Session: Therapeutic Gestures of Hands

Mudras have the power to help heal physically, distress mentally

or uplift spiritually depending upon the ones you choose to
practice. The physical body is made up of five elements namely -
Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Aakash (ether - the tiny intercellular
spaces in the human body) and each finger represents one element.
Imbalance of these elements disrupts the immunity system and
causes disease. When a finger representing an element is brought
into contact with the thumb, that element is brought into balance.
Therefore the disease caused by the imbalance is cured. The
joining of fingers creates an effect on the human body. Mudras
can help cure Breathing problems, Digestion Problems, help boost
the immunity, balance the metabolism, and strengthen the nervous
system & bones. It helps in Cardiac Problems, Kidney issues,
Migraines, Arthritis to name a few. There are three types of
Mudras: General, Therapeutic and Spiritual and as the name suggests is their corresponding benefit
to the respective physical, Mental or Spiritual Body. No prior knowledge required to attend this
workshop.

Yoga for Doshas

3 Hour Training and Practice ~Dr. Indu Arora
Yoga is an extraordinary practice for entering the state of body-centered restful awareness. It
awakens grace and restores your sense of balance and wholeness. To reap the greatest benefits, it is
important to personalize your practice for your unique mind-body constitution or dosha.

According to ayurveda, doshas are made up of five elements: air,

space, fire, earth and water. There are three ayurvedic doshas: the
vata dosha is a combination of air and space, the pitta dosha is a
combination of fire and water, and the kapha dosha is water and
earth. Each person is thought to be born with a combination of
the three types of doshas, with one or two dominant doshas
determining our physical, mental and emotional characteristics.
An imbalance among the doshas is thought to cause illness.

However, that an asana may not be good for a particular doshic type doesn't mean that they should
never do it. It means they should practice the asana in a way which guards against any potential
imbalances

Let us connect to our true Divine essence and expand your consciousness. Whether we are
predominantly Vata, Pitta, or Kapha, let us stay focused on your intention to stay present and take
our yoga practice to a deeper level.

Workshop includes:

• What is Dosha & relationship between five elements and Yoga

• Gudelines to your dosha type
• Asanas specific to dosha
• Pranayama specific to dosha
• Ways to bring harmony in practice

Five day Meditation Intensive

~ 10 hours program (spread over 5 days)
Details of Each Session (1-hour theory & 1-hour practice)
Class I: Meditation on Breath

It's common property that anyone can meditate on. At the same time, of all the meditation topics
there are, it's probably the most beneficial to the body, for when we're dealing with the breath,
we're dealing not only with the air coming in and out of the lungs, but also with all the feelings of
energy that course throughout the body with each breath. If you can learn to become sensitive to
these feelings, and let them flow smoothly and unobstructed, you can help the body function more
easily, and give the mind a handle for dealing with pain.

Class II: Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation, also referred to as Insightful Meditation, requires or allows individuals to

be aware of their surroundings, to develop a sense of sensitivity in perceiving every moment, and
enabling them to accept stressful situations, instead of avoiding them. By being aware of the inner
state of our minds during Mindfulness Meditation, we can accept difficult situations in our lives
without much resistance.

Class III: Meditation on Light ~ Tratak

Tratak Meditation is a traditional basic exercise to acquire concentration and control the mental
waves. Tratak (fixed gazing) is an ancient yogic technique that concentrates the mind, opens the
psychic centers and awakens the life force at the base of the spine taking one deep into meditation
It brings: Controls of ciliary’s Reflex, Excitation of lachrymal glands, Stimulation of pineal glands,
Relieving of body, interior peace, Improvement of the sight, Fortification of the will and
Improvement of the memory and the concentration

Class IV: Mediation on Chakras using Mantra and Mudra

Within our bodies there are focal points of energy that we use, whether consciously or
unconsciously, to affect reality and allow us to fully experience and realize events that unfold
before us. These focal points are called Chakras. Chakras are located in important parts of your
body such as your head or heart. Any organs within the area of these Chakras are used to control;
and are, therefore, directly affected by the properties of that Chakra

Class V: Meditation on Five Sheaths (Panch Koshas)

There are five layers of our personality on the self. These five layers ‘as though’ veil the self.
Really speaking nothing can veil the inner self, but due to our excessive focus and importance to
these layers of our personality, these layers, for all practical purposes, do appear to veil the self.
We need to identify each of these properly, so that we can see. Let us explore the various
ways in which Meditation and Relaxation on these sheaths helps in benefiting
the Mind-Body relationship. The focus of this program is to learn ways to
Release tensions and emotional blockages, Relax, rejuvenate the Body and
Mind.
