Te avarebhyo Asakshaatkrut Dharmabbhyo upadeshena mantraan
sampraaduhu (Niruktaha)
Those seers chanted the vedas for the next generation who had no saakshat kruta dharma
– (No natural self awareness of supreme bliss)
Since they have heard/listened to, its is called heard (Shruti).

III Further after thousands of years, the third generation could not understand the inner sense of
the vedas. For that purpose the senior seers prepared vedangas (6 auxalaries to vedas) for the
understanding and learning the system of chanting. Also to know performance of sacrifices and
calculating the write time to perform and chant. Vedangas also called Imam granthas. From this
stage the tradition of guru shishya parampara began.

After so many years, when the people who wanted to learn the vedas could not grasp and learn the
vast text. Therefore Krishna dvaipaayana classified vedas for better preservation and prachar
through their lineage.
