FileNet eForms Designer 5.0 Release Notes
What’s New in 5.0.1

What’s New in 5.0.1

Introduced in eFD-5.0.1
The following features are new for eForms Designer version 5.0.1:
NOTE The 5.0.1 release of FileNet eForms Designer is for Windows only; there is no 5.0.1 version for
Macintosh.
• You can import a graphic into a form by referring to its location on a remote server such as a web server.
You can edit or replace the graphic file in one location and have the changes automatically appear in every
form that references it.
• With the offline forms feature, users can download form policies from Workplace. Users can then open a
form when they are not connected to the network, fill out the form using the Desktop eForms application,
and then upload the form the next time they are connected to Workplace.
NOTE When you design forms that are going to be taken offline, you should select the P8 eForms fill
platform and not the Desktop eForms platform.
• FileNet eForms Designer 5.0.1 includes support for custom scripting. Form designers can use JavaScript™
to create a custom script that can be embedded in a form template.
• The buttons feature has been enhanced in this version of FileNet eForms Designer. Buttons with built-in
commands can be placed on a form template, making your form more powerful and easier to use.

Documentation
The help has been divided into two sets of topics. If you want to design a form for the P8 eForms fill platform
and you select that option in the Preferences dialog box, the help will change to the version that contains only
P8 information. If you want to design a form for the Desktop eForms, Forms Manager eForms, Open Client
eForms, or Web Services eForms fill platform and you select that option in the Preferences dialog box, the help
will change to the version that contains information for those fill environments.
