Introduction
“Games with rules and structures are a valuable medium to children, teenagers and
adults to have the opportunity to learn in an environment where they feel free and with
trust, so it is important in the teaching of English language” [ CITATION Per18 \l 12298 ].
For this reason, a great occasion to learn English is with traditional games that permit
the improvement of vocabulary and structure, permitting the students to have fluency at
the moment to speak. And for that reason, it has decided to adapt the game “quemados”
to this purpose.
This is an Ecuadorian game that consists of guessing the object that is described, giving
clues about it. Being the keywords "hot" to the player knows he was right and "cold" to
the player continues to decipher the keyword. For this reason, one person describes the
object or word and others try to find the correct option.
Participants
1. Storyteller: It is the person that talks about the game and how it works.
2. Teacher: It is the person who supervises the normal development of the game.
3. Students: They are the principal participant who has to develop the game.
Game process
Storyteller: Good morning, in this beautiful day, we are going to teach you a
traditional game whose name is “quemados”. “Quemados” is a traditional game
where a person must find the word according to a description giving to the teacher.
Teacher: Dear students, please pay attention. I am going to say some sentences
describing an object or a verb. Each one of you should say me the word that you
think is correct. I will say “cold” if your answer is incorrect and “hot” if your
answer is correct.
Student 1: Walk
Teacher: Cold
Student 2: Run
Teacher: Hot. Perfect! Run in Spanish is “correr”. You can see the action in this
picture. (The teacher shows the picture and makes them repeat the word).
Student 2: It is a sport.
Teacher: Yes, hot! Another clue, you move through the water by moving the body.
Student 3: Swim.
Teacher: Let’s see another verb. It is when your mother prepares something in the
kitchen.
Teacher: Hot!
Student 5: Cook
1. The teacher can select a particular vocabulary and give their students specific
words to learn more vocabulary.
2. Participation in class, the game requires the participation of the students because
they must find words to keep with the world.
3. Students can learn new vocabulary in relation to the topic that checks in classes.

“Los juegos con reglas y estructuras son un medio valioso para que niños, adolescentes
y adultos tengan la oportunidad de aprender en un entorno donde se sientan libres y con
confianza, por lo que es importante en la enseñanza del idioma inglés” (Inglés, 2018).
Por esta razón, una gran ocasión para aprender inglés son los juegos tradicionales que
permiten mejorar el vocabulario y la estructura, permitiendo que los estudiantes tengan
fluidez al momento de hablar. Y por eso, ha decidido adaptar el juego “quemados” a tal
fin.

Narrador: Buenos días, en este hermoso día, les vamos a enseñar un juego tradicional
que se llama “quemados”. “Quemados” es un juego tradicional donde una persona debe
encontrar la palabra de acuerdo a una descripción que le da el maestro.
Maestra: Estimados estudiantes, presten atención. Voy a decir unas frases que describen
un objeto o un verbo. Cada uno de ustedes debería decirme la palabra que crea que es
correcta. Diré "frío" si su respuesta es incorrecta y "caliente" si su respuesta es correcta.
Maestro: Primero, este es un verbo. Es cuando las personas o los animales se mueven
tan rápido.
Estudiante 1: Caminar
Maestro: Frío
Estudiante 2: Correr
Maestra: Caliente. ¡Perfecto! Correr en español es "correr". Puedes ver la acción en esta
imagen. (El maestro les muestra la imagen y les hace repetir la palabra).
Estudiante 2: Es un deporte.
Maestra: ¡Sí, caliente! Otra pista, te mueves por el agua moviendo el cuerpo.
Estudiante 3: Nadar.
Maestra: ¡Caliente!
Estudiante 5: Cocinero
3. Los estudiantes pueden aprender vocabulario nuevo en relación con el tema que se
revisa en las clases.
