Chief Risk Officer – Karachi

The position requires a minimum of Master's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or


Finance, professional qualification from a recognized Educational Institution will be an added
advantage with at least 12-15 years of risk & compliance related experience and
demonstrated ability in quantitative analysis, in depth knowledge of SBP circulars, prudential
regulations, bank’s own SOPs and products, branch banking controls, banking practices and
procedures.

Skill Set Requirement:


The incumbent/candidate should have strong leadership, communications and consultative
skills with Knowledge of latest market trends, business practices.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

 Develop and implement a robust Risk Management Strategy.


 Ensure the development of a consistent framework.
 Directs the activities of the Risk Management operations.
 Identify, report and aggregate risks and exposures.
 Develop risk appetite and risk tolerances recognizing economy and external factors.
 Administer and organize regular Board Risk Management Committee, Credit Risk
Committee, Operational Risk Committee and participate in ALCO and IT Steering
Committees.
 Managing the Market risk based on FWBL policy, which would entail developing and
maintaining the risk evaluation models, allocation of market risk limits following the top-
to-bottom principle and group-wide risk concentration limits.
 Manage the Operational Risk of the Bank arising from any intentional or unintentional
deviation from the accepted principles during the daily operations of the bank.
 Manage the Information Security of the Bank arising from any intentional or unintentional
deviation from the accepted principles during the daily operations of the bank.
 Supervising the main areas of credit risk policy including the credit granting process,
administration, measurement and monitoring process, responsibilities, credit control and
reporting.
 Overseeing all aspects of managements’ self-assessment of strategic, financial, and
operational risks.
 Advising the CEO and senior management on the impact of various risks emanating and
recommending appropriate actions to manage the same.
 Directing the ongoing development, education, and the implementation of self-
assessment on a company wide basis of risk activities, including evaluation and
assessing the effectiveness of annual risk assessment plans and outcomes.
