occur. If all work normally, connect the carriage motor and start the printer for other
operations.
Chapter One Negative Pressure System
1.6 Common Problems
1.Disorder of the negative pressure system: check the vacuum gauge setting and interface
connections.
2. The negative gauge displays positive pressure values: check the LED indicator lamp beside
the waste ink tank sensor interface ,make sure whether waste ink exists in the waste ink tank.
3. Values displayed on the negative pressure gauge glitter continuously: check whether air leakage
occurs in the pipes, air tank and ink tanks.
4.Printhead ink leakage: the negative pressure is too low.

Optical fiber High voltage DC12V LED 1.Check whether the connections of
connector
DC 12 V sockets are correct;
otherwise, the carriage PCB may be
damaged. Under normal conditions,
indicator lamps of DC 12 V, DC 3.3 V
and DC 2.5 V light up.

2.Check cable connections: 1 to TX

and 2 to RX (main board: 1 to TX and
2 to RX). If they are correctly
connected, cable indicator lamps will
flash : one lamp flashes quickly and
one flashes slowly.

Chapter Five Setting of Negative Pressure
Gauge (SMC ZSE30A)

This digital pressure switch is designed for inspecting and controlling vacuum with the range from 0
to 101 KPa.
)Calibration of the reference pressure of the gauge
1)
The reference pressure calibration of the gauge is to set one standard atmospheric pressure as the
reference zero point and has been completed before delivery. It does not need to be calibrated during
normal operation.
When the reference pressure is changed due to unexpected factors, it should be calibrated;
otherwise deviation will occur between the displayed pressure and the actual pressure and affect the
normal use of the gauge.
The calibration method is as follows:
1. Remove the air tube of the pressure gauge to let the air tube expose to the free air.
2. Power on the pressure gauge. The pressure gauge will display pressure values.
3. Press and hold ▲ and ▼ for over two seconds. The pressure gauge displays “0”.
The reference pressure calibration is complete.

Chapter Seven Troubleshooting
7.1 Broken lines occur during printing while the state of printheads
is normal
1. Inks on the surface of printheads
The negative pressure is too low.
The surfaces of printheads are not clean and inks cannot be sprayed completely. The remaining inks
on the surfaces of printheads block the printheads.
2. No ink on the surface of printheads
The negative pressure is too high, causing high resistance to ink flow and thus leading to
insufficient ink supply.
The voltage of printheads is too high, causing high ink supply volume and thus leading to
insufficient ink supply.
.The ink supply of the printhead of a color is high and fails during printing, and
3.
becomes normal after several passes.
Check the negative pressure system. There may be liquids in the negative pressure air tube of the
tank chain, which affects the negative pressure of the subtank (the negative pressure gauge detects
the negative pressure of the negative pressure tank).
.Broken lines occurring at a fixed position
4.
Bubbles exist in the position of the printhead.
Dirt exists at the position in the printhead surface.
Physical damages occur at the position in the printhead.
 The printhead is defective.
Chapter Seven Troubleshooting
7.2 Bad state of printheads and large area ink supply failure
. Bubbles exist in printheads.
1.
 Remove the bubbles.
. Large ink supply failure persists after bubble removing.
2.
Protecting liquids in printheads are not completely cleaned.
Soak printheads in cleaning agent for 12 hours and then remove bubbles.
7.3 Flashjet failure
1. Inspect the communication between the carriage PCB and the main board.
Observe whether the LED indicator lamps beside the optical cable module on the
carriage PCB light up.
.Check whether the connection between the printheads and the carriage PCB fails.
2.
.Check whether bubbles are effectively removed.
3.
.Check whether the data channel between the software and the carriage PCB match
4.
in lyprint software.
Chapter Seven Troubleshooting
7.4 The system is down and all printheads fail to supply inks during
printing
1. Whether displacement exist at the edge of images
Tooth skipping occurs in the long belt of the carriage.
Sliding occurs on the circle belt of the servo motor of the carriage.
The automatic media releasing motor set cause interference to circuit boards.
Faults occur in the printing software.
 The computer is incorrectly configured.
.Displacement on the edge of images and flashjet are normal, no ink supply during
2.
printing
The raster film and the linear encoder fail.
Exceptions occur in the optical fiber cables.
3. Ink supply fails for all printheads during printing
 The linear encoder is damaged.
Exceptions occur in the optical fiber cables.
The carriage PCB fails. The power supply for printheads of PE-XR382 carriage fails.
The high voltage coil does not work (for printers with high voltage coil).
Chapter Seven Troubleshooting

7.5 Suckback analysis and solutions

1. Reasons for suckback
The negative pressure is too high or is disordered.
Leakage occurs in tanks, printheads and tubes.
The sensor in the tank is not sensitive or does not work.
 Bubbles exist in the filter.
The ink pump in the main tank is empty.
2. Shut down the printer immediately when suckback occurs
Check whether the above conditions exist and solve accordingly.
Plug out the negative pressure control cable (not power supply cable or positive pressure
cable) on the ink supply PCB.
Drain the waste liquid in the ink overflow tank.
Drain the liquids in the air tube connecting the ink overflow tank and the negative
pressure tank.
Check whether there is ink in the filter in front of the 3-way valve in the negative
pressure system. If yes, drain the ink.
