Trevor MacAusland, New Executive Director of propel ICT, has Great Expectations
Moncton, NB, February 14, 2011 – Today propel ICT, the pre-eminent group of businesses and
academia working with start-up entrepreneurs to launch and grow technology-based businesses
in New Brunswick, announced their new Executive Director, Trevor MacAusland.
Trevor has been involved in New Brunswick’s technology sector for many years, including stints
with regional success stories such as Whitehill Technologies and T4G Limited. Trevor has added
much more than that to the provincial technology scene. He is the originator of the charitable
“Geeks on Ice” hockey tournament, is a leader in the “21Inc” movement, helped build the
success of the “New Brunswick Rising Stars” program, and sits on the Board of Enterprise
Greater Moncton.
Trevor draws from a 2009 study by The Impact Group to validate his goals. “My personal
experience supports the data in the report. Start-up ICT companies often fail because there is
not enough interaction between the new businesses and experienced entrepreneurs and
investors. Under my leadership propel ICT will expand its role in bringing these people
together.”
"Trevor brings new energy and a fresh perspective to propel ICT at this time," said David
Baxter, propel ICT’s President. "He will be based in Moncton, is fluently bilingual, has an
existing relationship with many regional stakeholders and possesses a deep knowledge of the
ICT sector across New Brunswick. These were all qualities that we were looking for in an
Executive Director to solidify propel ICT as a province wide organization," added Mr. Baxter.
Trevor has high aspirations for his new role: “Mentorship using the knowledge of seasoned
advisors is the core value that will drive our long-term strategy as we look to bringing a fresh
approach to how ICT start-up acceleration is done across the entire province.” He says, “In
particular, I am planning on making propel ICT a model which the rest of the world can
emulate.”
