WELCOME
LETTER
TO ALL ATTENDEES
2020 WORLD LANGUAGE TEACHER SUMMIT PLAYBOOK

Welcome Letter to All

Attendees
Welcome to this 2020 online conference for World Language Teachers. It’s been an
incredibly crazy year for everyone and exactly because of that, I’m so excited to share
another amazing group of presenters.

My wish is that these sessions help you re-energize, re-excite and rejuvenate your
passion for sharing your language(s) and help you discover new ways to keep your
students captivated and exploring the world through languages.

I think you’ll quickly begin to see that while this has been a challenging year as a
teacher, it’s also created a unique atmosphere of accelerated improvements in teaching
techniques and tools, and at the same time a renewed focus on going back to the
basics.

In the end, teaching languages is about you sharing your passion with others. And I’m
looking forward to our fabulous group of speakers helping you do that throughout this
World Language Teacher Summit.

-Jared, Host of the World Language Teacher Summit

ABOUT YOUR HOST

ROMEY
2020 WORLD LANGUAGE TEACHER SUMMIT PLAYBOOK

Your Host, Jared Romey

Hello! Jared Romey here.

Hi, I'm Jared! I’m the creator of SpeakingLatino.com, where

my wife Diana and I help Spanish teachers create more
time in their lives to spend with their families and still be
amazing teachers.

My life-long love of languages began with exposure to

Mandarin as a small child and has continued through
immersion learning in Portuguese, years of studying
German, fun experiences with Italian, a quick dabble with
Jared Romey, Host World Language Teacher
Esperanto and of course my 20+ year journey with Spanish. Summit

My mission is to bring you the tips, techniques and education leaders that show how to
share your passion for world languages with your students. When they enjoy the
language learning process, they are more engaged, motivated and excited about
languages and cultures.

For a long time, I heard from person after person that they had been teaching for years
(sometimes 15+ years) and never had access to free language teaching professional
development. So, I decided to do something about that and created the World
Language Teacher Summit.

Learning languages absolutely changed my life and I want to help you share that same
opportunity with your students.

Please join me and thousands of teachers for this World Language Teacher Summit!
