Objectives:

Content— Students will analyze different pieces of music throughout the last 700 years by creating a Venn diagram of
music from the 1700s to now.

Language— Students will complete a Venn diagram to compare and contrast music from the 1700s to now.

Assessment:
Students will be assessed on their ability to compare and contrast music from the 1700s to now in a Venn diagram.

Small activity to see how well students perform certain tasks while listening to music (25:00)
 Students will all simulate taking a quiz while listening to metal, classical music, popular music, and country
 Students will brainstorm their thoughts and feelings on how they felt performing their task during each song.
 They will have 25 minutes to complete the quiz, every 5 minutes the music changes

After the activity, we will come together for whole group discussion to see how music has changed throughout time and how the
students performed during the quiz. (15:00)
