Activity • The lesson will begin by grouping students into groups

of two or three around the room but keeping them in
view of the whiteboard. This way students can pay
attention and participate in the lesson. I will begin this
science lesson by introducing what the five senses are
and how humans use them in everyday life. Each group
will receive two to three worksheets about the five
senses. After about 10 to 15 fifteen minutes there will
be a brief discussion about the five senses to check the
students’ understanding. We will then turn to the
interactive white board to continue our lesson about the
five senses. We will be using Smart Exchange
interactive assignment by Katie RCOE called “My Five
Senses Finding the Correct Picture”.

• I will demonstrate the activity to allow students to view

how it is done first.
o Students will take turns in their groups coming
to the whiteboard to practice moving the image
of the correct object match to the sense above.
Pedagogy

The students will have to pick one object from

the group of at the bottom of the board.
 • Each slide will ask to find something that we can touch,
taste, see, hear, or smell.

• While students are taking turns at the white board the

rest of the class will remain in their seats with their
groups.

• Students will continue to take turns in their groups until

all five slides have the correct sense matched. Students
will have an additional worksheet to mimic the
whiteboard lesson. I will allow students to work
together on this assignment to encourage further
teamwork.
