1 O Most High, O Mighty
Yā ʿAliyyu Yā ʿAẓīmu
* ‫ُﻢ‬9‫ﺎ َﻋِﻠ‬0 ‫ُﻢ‬9‫ﺎ َﺣِﻠ‬0 2 O Forbearing, O All-knowing
Yā Ḥalīmu Ya ʿAlīm
‫ﱢ‬ َ َ ْ_ 3 You are my Lord

Anta Rabbī

* p6 eِ ‫َوِﻋﻠُﻤﻚ َﺣْﺴ‬ 4 and Your knowledge is my
wa ʿilmuka ḥasbī sufficiency;

* d6 ‫ ﱢ‬e ‫ﻓِﻨْﻌَﻢ اﻟﱠﺮﱡب َر‬ 5 how perfect is my Lord,
fa niʿma r-Rabbu Rabbī
* p6 eِ ‫ﺐ َﺣْﺴ‬ ُ ‫َوﻧْﻌَﻢ اﻟَﺤْﺴ‬ 6 how perfect my sufficiency:

wa niʿma l-ḥasbu ḥasbī
‫ﺖ اﻟَﻌ‡†ˆُﺰ‬َ ‫ﺸﺎُء و_أْﻧ‬ƒَ ‫ َﻣْﻦ‬€ ُ ُ ‫َﺗْﻨ‬ 7 You give victory to whom You will,
* ‫ُﻢ‬9‫اﻟﱠﺮِﺣ‬ and You are the All-powerful, and the
All-Compassionate.
tanṣuru man tashā'u wa Anta l-ʿAzīzu
r-Raḥīm
َ َ – ََ ْ َ ’_ ْ َ 8 We ask Your protection, in
‫• اﻟﺤـﺮ˜ﺎِت‬6 ِ ‫•ﺴﺄﻟﻚ اﻟِﻌﺼﻤﺔ‬

* ‫َواﻟﱠﺴﮑﻨﺎِت‬ movements and rests,

Nas'āluka l-ʿiṣmata fi l-ḥarakati wa s-

sakanāti

‫ِﻠﻤﺎِت َواِﻹراداِت َواﻟﺨـَﻄﺮاِت‬ž‫َواﻟ‬ 9 in words and desires and thoughts;

* ‫ِﻣَﻦ اﻟﺸﮑﻮِك َواﻟﻈﻨﻮِن‬ 10 from doubts and imaginings,
mina sh-shukūki wa ẓ-ẓunūni
’ُl َ
* ‫َواﻷْو¬ﺎِم اﻟﱠﺴﺎِﺗَﺮِة ِﻟﻠﻘﻠﻮِب‬ 11 and the illusions that veil hearts
wa l-awhāmi s-sātirati li-l-qulūbi
ُ _
* ‫َﻋْﻦ ُﻣﻄﺎﻟَﻌِﺔ اﻟﻐُﻴﻮِب‬ 12 from beholding things unseen.
ʿan muṭālaʿati l-ghuyūb.
º ’ lُ َ ُ ْ l َ ُْ ََ
‫ ٱﻟُﻤﺆِﻣﻨﻮن َوزﻟ‡ﺰﻟﻮا‬4 ‫ﻓﻘِﺪ ﴿ ٱﺑ ِﺘ‬ 13 The believers have been tried, and
ُ ْ ً َ ً l
‫ﻘﻮُل‬0َ ‫ﺪا ۝ َوِ¿ذ‬0‫‡زﻟَﺰاﻻ ﺷِﺪ‬ mightily shaken, and lo, the
’ُ Å َ ُ َ l hypocrites and those with sickness in
‫ ـِﻬﻢ‬Êِ É‫ِﻔﻘﻮن َوٱﻟِﺬﻳَﻦ ِ–• ﻗﻠ‬Âٰ‫ٱﻟُﻤﻨ‬ their hearts say: Allah and His
‫’ُ ﱠ‬ ُ Å ََ
‫ض ﱠﻣﺎ َوَﻋﺪﻧﺎ ٱﻟﻠـﻪ َوَرُﺳﻮﻟﻪ ٓۥ ِإﻻ‬ ٌ ‫ﱠﻣَﺮ‬ messenger have promised us nothing
ُ
* ﴾ ‫ﻏُﺮوًرا‬ but delusion. [Al ‘Ahzab 33:11-12]
Fa-qadi-btuliya l-mu'minūna wa
zulzilū zilzālan shadīdan, wa idh
yaqūlu l-munāfiqūna wa lladhīna fī
qulūbihim maraḍun ma waʿadana
Llāhu wa Rasūluhu illā ghurūrā
ْ ُ ‫ْﺘﻨﺎ َواْﻧ‬Û‫َﻓَﺜﱢ‬
* ‫ﻧﺎ‬€ 14 So make us steadfast, give us the
Fa thabbitnā wa-nṣurnā
victory,
ٰ _ ‫ﱢ‬
* ‫ْﺤَﺮ‬$َ‫َوَﺳﺨْﺮ ﻟﻨﺎ ¬ﺬا اﻟ‬ 15 and subject to us this sea, [focus
wa sakhkhir lanā hadha l-baḥra Halal intent and purpose]
‫ﱠ‬ _
* ßَ‫ْﺤَﺮ ِﻟُﻤﻮ‬$َ‫ﻤﺎ َﺳﺨْﺮَت اﻟ‬Þ 16 as You subjected the sea to Moses,
kamā sakhkharta l-baḥra li-Mūsā
‫ﱠ‬ ‫ﱠ‬
* ‫َﻢ‬9¬ِ‫َوَﺳﺨْﺮَت اﻟﻨﺎَر ِ ِﻹْﺑﺮا‬ 17 the fire to Abraham,
wa sakhkharta n-nāra li-Ibrāhīma
َ ‫ﱠ‬
‫ﺪ‬0‫ﺎَل َواﻟَﺤـِﺪ‬$‫َوَﺳﺨْﺮَت اﻟِﺠ‬ 18 the mountains and iron to David,
* ‫ِﻟﺪاُووَد‬
wa sakhkharta l-jibāla wa l-ḥadīda li-
Dāwūda
َ– ‫ﺎﻃ‬9َ‫ˆـ ـَﺢ َواﻟﱠﺸ‬ã‫َوَﺳﱠﺨْﺮَت اﻟﱢ‬
æ 19 the wind and demons and jinn to
ç ِ
َ _
* ‫ﻤﺎن‬9‫َواﻟِﺠﱠﻦ ِﻟُﺴﻠ‬ Solomon.
wa sakhkharta r-rīḥa wa sh-shayāṭīna
wa l-jinna li-Sulaymān
َ _ ُ ’ _ ‫ﱢ‬
•6 – ِ ‫ﺮ ¬َﻮ ﻟﻚ‬ê‫ْﺤ‬éَ ‫ﱠﻞ‬Þ ‫َو ََﺳﺨْﺮ ﻟﻨﺎ‬ 20 And subject to us every sea You
* ‫ض َواﻟﱠﺴﻤﺎِء‬ ْ
‡ ‫اﻷر‬
possess, in the earth and sky,

Wa sakhkhir lanā kulla baḥrin huwa

laka fi l-arḍi wa s-samā'i

* ‫ﻮِت‬ë‫َواﻟُﻤﻠِﻚ َواﻟَﻤﻠ‬ 21 the physical and the spiritual,
wa l-mulki wa l-malakūti
ْ‫ﱡ‬
* ‫ْﺤَﺮ اﻵِﺧَﺮِة‬Êَ‫ﺎ َو‬9‫ْﺤَﺮ اﻟﺪﻧ‬Êَ‫َو‬ 22 the sea of this life and the sea of the
wa baḥra d-dunyā wa l-ākhirati life to come.
* ‫ٍء‬ßْ َî ‫ﱠﻞ‬Þ’ ‫َوَﺳﱢﺨْﺮ _ﻟﻨﺎ‬ 23 And subject to us everything,

wa sakhkhir lanā kulla shay'in
ْ َî ‫ﱢﻞ‬Þ’ ‫ﻮُت‬ë’‫ِﺪِە َﻣ_ﻠ‬9َ‫ﺎ َﻣْﻦ ﺑ‬0
* ‫ٍء‬ß 24 O You in whose hand is mastery of
6 ِ everything.
ya man bi yadihi malakūtu kulli shay

(۳) ﴾ ‫ﺺ‬ٓ ‫ٓﻌ‬9‫ﻛﻬ‬ò ﴿ 25 Kāf Hā Yā ʿAyn Sād (3x) [Mary 19:1]

ّ ُْ َ َ ‫’ْ ُ ْ َ ﱠ‬
* ‫ˆَﻦ‬û
‡ ‫ اﻟ‬ùç‫ﻧﺎ ﻓِﺈﻧﻚ ﺧ‬€‫اﻧ‬
ِ ‫ﺎ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ 26 Give us victory, for You are the best
Unṣurnā fa innaka khayru n-Nāṣirīna
who give victory.

َ– ‫ اﻟﻔﺎﺗﺤ‬ùُ ْ ‫َواْﻓَﺘْﺢ _ﻟﻨﺎ َﻓﺈﱠﻧَﻚ َﺧ‬

*æ 27 Clear our vision, for You are the best
ç ِ ِ ç ِ
wa-ftaḥ lanā fa innaka khayru l- who clear visions.
Fātiḥīna
َ َ ‫ْ _ َ ﱠ‬
* ‫ˆَﻦ‬ã‡‫ اﻟﻐﺎِﻓ‬ùُ ْç ‫َواﻏِﻔْﺮ ﻟﻨﺎ ﻓِﺈﻧﻚ ﺧ‬ 28 Forgive us, for You are the best of
wa-ghfir lanā fa innaka khayru l- forgivers.
Ghāfirīna
َ– ‫ اﻟﱠﺮاﺣﻤ‬ùُ ْ ‫َواْرَﺣْﻤﻨﺎ َﻓﺈﱠﻧَﻚ َﺧ‬
*æ 29 Have mercy on us, for You are the
çِ ِ ç ِ
wa-rḥamnā fa innaka khayru r- best of the merciful.
Rāḥimīna
َ– ‫ اﻟﱠﺮازﻗ‬ùُ ْ ‫َواْرُزْﻗﻨﺎ َﻓﺈﱠﻧَﻚ َﺧ‬
*æ 30 Give us sustenance, for You are the
ç ِ‡ ç ِ
wa-rzuqnā fa innaka khayru r- best of providers.
Rāziqīna
َ– ‫ﻈﺎﻟﻤ‬Å‫َواْ¬ﺪﻧﺎ َوَﻧﱢﺠﻨﺎ ﻣَﻦ اﻟَﻘْﻮم اﻟ‬
æ 31 And guide us, and save us from the
çِِ ِ ِ ِ
wrongdoing folk.

wa-hdinā wa najjinā mina l-qawmi ẓ-
ẓālimīn
َ ِ ‫ﻤﺎ‬Þ_ ‫ًﺔ‬$َ‫ﺐ _ﻟﻨﺎ رˆًﺤﺎ َﻃﱢﻴ‬
•6 – ِ þ ْ َ َ
6 ‡ َ ¬l ‫و‬ 32 And give us a goodly wind, as may be
in Your knowledge,
* ‫ِﻋﻠِﻤﻚ‬
Wa hab lanā rīḥan ṭayyibatan kamā
hiya fī ʿilmika
َ َ _ ْ ُî •ْ‫وا‬
‫¬ﺎ َﻋﻠْﻴﻨﺎ ِﻣْﻦ ﺧﺰا ِﺋ‡ﻦ َرْﺣَﻤِﺘﻚ‬ÿ 33 and release it upon us from the
storehouses of Your mercy;

wa-nshurhā ʿalaynā min khazā'ini
raḥmatika

* ‫ﺮاَﻣِﺔ‬ë‫َواْﺣِﻤﻠﻨﺎ ِﺑﻬﺎ َﺣْﻤَﻞ اﻟ‬ 34 and carry us upon it a carrying of
wa-ḥmilnā bihā ḥamla l-karāmati honor,
‫ﱢ‬
‫• اﻟﺪﻳ‡ﻦ‬6 – ِ ‫ِﺔ‬9َ‫َﻣ َﻊ اﻟﱠﺴﻼَﻣِﺔ َواﻟﻌﺎِﻓ‬ 35 with safety and well-being in the
ْ‫ﱡ‬
* ‫ﺎ َواﻵِﺧَﺮِة‬9‫َواﻟﺪﻧ‬ religion, in this world, and the world
to come.
maʿa s-salāmati wa l-ʿāfiyati fi d-dīni
wa d-dunyā wa l-ākhirati
َ ْ َî ‫ﱠ َ َ _ ’ ﱢ‬
* ‫ٍء ﻗِﺪﻳٌﺮ‬ß 6 ‫ﻞ‬Þ 4‫ِإﻧﻚ ﻋ‬
36 Truly, You have power over all
innaka ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr things.
َ ُ ’ _ ‫ُ ﱠ َ ﱢ‬Å
* ‫ ﻟﻨﺎ أﻣﻮرﻧﺎ‬ÿ ْ % ‫اﻟﻠﻬﻢ‬ 37 O Allah, facilitate our affairs for us,
Allāhumma yassir lanā umūrana
_ ’ُ
* ‫ﺪاِﻧﻨﺎ‬é‫ﻨﺎ وأ‬ÊِÉ‫َﻣ َﻊ اﻟﱠﺮاَﺣِﺔ ِﻟﻘﻠ‬
ْ 38 with ease for our hearts and bodies,
maʿa r-rāḥati li qulūbinā wa abdāninā
ْ
‫ﺎﻧﺎ‬9‫• ُدﻧ‬6 – ِ ‫ِﺔ‬9َ‫َواﻟﱠﺴﻼَﻣِﺔ َواﻟﻌﺎِﻓ‬ 39 and security and well-being in our
* ‫َوِدﻳ ِ&ﻨﺎ‬ worldly life and religion.
wa salāmati wa l-ʿāfiyati fī dunyānā
wa dīninā
َ _ ’
* ‫• َﺳﻔ‡ﺮﻧﺎ‬6 – ِ ‫ﺎ‬$ً‫َو'ْﻦ ﻟﻨﺎ ﺻﺎِﺣ‬ 40 And be our companion in our travels,
wa kun lanā Ṣāḥiban fī safarinā
ْ _ – ً َ َ َ 41 while keeping watch behind in our
* ‫• أ¬ِﻠﻨﺎ‬6 ِ ‫ﻔﺔ‬9‫وﺧِﻠ‬
wa khalīfatan fī ahlinā families;
_ _ ْ ْ َ
* ‫ ُو ُﺟﻮِە أْﻋﺪا ِﺋﻨﺎ‬4‫ﺲ َﻋ‬ ‫واﻃِﻤ‬ 42 And blind the faces of our enemies,
wa-ṭmis ʿalā wujūhi aʿdā'inā
َ َ _ ْ
‫ﺎﻧِﺘِﻬْﻢ ﻓﻼ‬,‫ َﻣ‬4‫َواْﻣَﺴﺨُﻬْﻢ َﻋ‬ 43 and change them where they stand,
‫َء‬. َ َ ‫ُﻌﻮَن اﻟُﻤ – ﱠ‬9‫ْﺴَﺘﻄ‬%َ so they can neither move nor reach
6 eِ ‫ وﻻ اﻟﻤ‬- 6 ِ ِ _ us.
* ‫ِإﻟْﻴﻨﺎ‬
wa-msakhhum ʿalā makānatihim falā
yastaṭīʿūna l-muḍiyya wa la l-majī'a
ilaynā
_ _ َ _ َ َ _
‫ أْﻋُﻴِﻨِﻬْﻢ‬4ٰٓ ‫ُء ﻟَﻄَﻤْﺴ _ﻨﺎ َﻋ‬/‫﴿ َوﻟْﻮ •ﺸ‬ 44 Had we willed, We would have
َ ُ ْ ُ ٰ ‫ ﱢ َٰ َ َ –ﱠ‬º ُ َ َ ْ َ obliterated their eyes, and they
‫ون‬€ $‫ ﻳ‬d‫ط ﻓﺄ‬€‫ﻘﻮا ٱﻟ‬$1‫ﻓﭑﺳ‬
_ٰ َ ِ ْ ُ ٰ َ ْ َ َ _ ُ َ َ ْ _ َ would race to the path, but how
4‫ﻬﻢ ﻋ‬Â‫ء ﻟﻤﺴﺨﻨ‬/‫۝ وﻟﻮ •ﺸ‬ should they see? Or had We willed,
ََ 4 ُ º ُ ٰ َ َ ْ َ َ ْ َ _ َ
‫ﺎ وﻻ‬9‫ﻌﻮا ﻣ ِﻀ‬Â‫ﺎﻧِﺘِﻬﻢ ﻓﻤﺎ ٱﺳﺘﻄ‬,‫ﻣ‬ We would have transformed them
َ
* ﴾ ‫َﻳْﺮ ِﺟُﻌﻮن‬ upon their place, so they could go
neither forward nor return. [Ya-Sin
Wa law nashā'u la-ṭamasnā ʿalā
36:66-67]
aʿyunihim fa-stbaqū ṣ-ṣirāṭa fa-anna
yubṣirūna, wa law nashā'u la

masakhnāhum ʿalā makānatihim
fama-staṭāʿū muḍiyyan wa lā yarjiʿūn

‫ِﻢ‬9‫ﺲ ۝ َوٱﻟﻘْﺮَءاِن ٱﻟَﺤ ِﻜ‬ ٓ %﴿ 45 Ya Sin. By the Wise Koran, Truly you
l _
َ– ‫۝ إﱠﻧَﻚ ﻟﻤَﻦ ٱﻟُﻤْﺮَﺳﻠ‬ are of the messengers, upon a
‫۝‬æ çِ ِ ِ _َ
َ‫ˆﻞ‬ù– – ‫ﻢ ۝ َﺗ‬9‫ط ﱡﻣْﺴَﺘﻘ‬û َ
straight path; The sending down of
‡ َ ٍ ِ ٍ ٰ ِ 4ٰ ‫ﻋ‬l the All-powerful, the All-
/‫ِﻢ ۝ ِﻟُﺘﻨِﺬَر ﻗْﻮًﻣﺎ ﱠﻣ‬9‫’ٱﻟَﻌ‡†ˆ‡ﺰ ٱﻟﱠﺮِﺣ‬ compassionate; To warn a people
َ ’ َ َ ُ ُ
‫ِﻔﻠﻮن ۝‬Â_ ٰ ‫ؤ¬ْﻢ ﻓُﻬْﻢ ﻏ‬/éَ‫أﻧِﺬَر َءا‬ whose forefathers were unwarned,
َ َl _ َl ْ َ_
‫ِ¬ْﻢ ﻓُﻬْﻢ‬ù‡ 9 ' ‫ أ‬4ٰٓ ‫ﻟﻘﺪ َﺣ ﱠﻖ ٱﻟﻘْﻮُل َﻋ‬
so they heed not. The word has truly

ٓ – ‫ﻠَﻨﺎ‬l‫َﻻ ُﻳْﺆﻣُﻨﻮَن ۝ إﱠﻧﺎ َﺟَﻌ‬

been realized against most of them,
•
َ ْ َ ِْ _ َ َ ِ ً ٰ _ ْ _ ْ ِ ٰ َ ْ _
so they believe not. Verily, We have
‫ ِإ; ٱﻷذﻗﺎِن‬:ِ ‫ﻼ ﻓ‬Â‫ِﻘِﻬﻢ أﻏﻠـ‬Â‫أﻋﻨـ‬ placed fetters on their necks, even up
َl َ ْ َ
‫ﻓُﻬﻢ _ ﱡﻣﻘَﻤُﺤﻮن ۝ َو َﺟَﻌﻠﻨﺎ ِﻣ ۢﻦ‬ to the chins, so they bend not. And
l َ 4 We have placed a barrier before
‫ ِ _ﺪﻳِﻬْﻢ َﺳﺪا َوِﻣْﻦ ﺧﻠِﻔِﻬْﻢ‬0ْ‫ أ‬æ – çْ ‫َﺑ‬
َ ُ ْ ُ َ ْ ُ َ ْ ُ ٰ َ ْ َ ْ َ 4‡ َ
them, and a barrier behind them, and
‫ون‬€ِ$‫ﻬﻢ ﻓﻬﻢ ﻻ ﻳ‬Â‫ﺳﺪا ﻓﺄﻏﺸ=ﻨ‬ covered them over, so they see
*﴾ not. [Ya-Sin 36:1-9]
Yā Sīn, wa l-Qur'āni l-Ḥakīmi, innaka
la-mina l-mursalīna, ʿalā ṣirātin
mustaqīm, tanzīla l-ʿAzīzi r-Raḥīmi, li-
tundhira qawman mā undhira
ābā'uhum fa-hum ghāfilūna, la-qad
ḥaqqa l-qawlu ʿalā aktharihim fa-
hum lā yu'minūna, innā jaʿalnā fī
aʿnāqihim aghlālan fa-hiya ila l-
adhqāni fa-hum muqmahūna, wa
jaʿalna min bayni aydīhim saddan wa
min khalfihim saddan fa-
aghshaynāhum fa-hum lā yubṣirūn.
َ
(۳) ‫ﺷﺎ¬ِﺖ اﻟُﻮ ُﺟﻮُە‬ 46 May the faces be disfigured (3x)
Shāhati l-wujūh
َ ‫ َ ﱢ‬l ُ ُ ُ ََ َ
* ‫ اﻟﻘﱡﻴﻮِم‬.
6 ‫ﻠ‬‫ﻟ‬ِ ‫ە‬‫ﻮ‬‫ﺟ‬‫ﻮ‬‫ﻟ‬‫ا‬ ‫ﺖ‬
ِ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫وﻋ‬ 47 And faces shall be humbled to the
Wa ʿanati l-wujūhu li-l-Ḥayyi l-
Living,
Qayyūmi
l ’ َْ
‫َوﻗﺪ ﺧﺎَب َﻣْﻦ َﺣَﻤَﻞ ﻇﻠًﻤﺎ‬ 48 Through Whom All exists, while
wa qad khāba man ḥamala ẓulmā whoever bears wrongdoing shall have
failed. [Taha 20:111]

 ‫ﺲ ﴾ * ﴿ ﺣٓﻢ ۝ ٓﻋٓﺴ ٓﻖ‬
ٓ ‫﴿ﻃ‬ 49 Ta Sin, Ha Mim, Ayn Sin Qaf.
﴾
Ṭā Sīn, Hā Mīm, ʿAyn Sīn Qāf
l l
‫ﺎِن ۝‬9َ‫ﻠَﺘِﻘ‬0َ ‫ْﺤَﺮْﻳ‡ﻦ‬$َ‫﴿ َﻣَﺮ َج ٱﻟ‬ 50 He has loosed the two seas that
‫َ ٌ ﱠ‬ َ
﴾ ‫ﺎِن‬9َ‫ِﻐ‬$ْ‫َﺑ ْ=ﻨُﻬَﻤﺎ َﺑْﺮزخ ﻻ َﻳ‬ meet, between them is a barrier they
do not cross. [Ar-Rahman 55:19-20]
Maraja l-baḥrayni yaltaqiyāni,
baynahumā barzakhun lā yabghiyān
(7x) ﴾َ ‫﴿ﺣٓﻢ‬ 51 Ha Mim (7x)
_ َ ُ ْ ‫ُ ﱠ ُْ َ َ ﱠ‬
‫ ﻓَﻌﻠْﻴﻨﺎ ﻻ‬€ ‫ﺣﻢ اﻷﻣﺮ وﺟﺎء اﻟﻨ‬ 52 The matter is decreed, Divine aid is at
َ ُ َ ُْ hand, against us they shall not be
* ‫ون‬€ ‫ﻳﻨ‬ victorious.
Ḥumma l-amru, wajā'a n-naṣru fa
ʿalaynā lā yunṣarūn
l َ
‫ِﺐ ِﻣَﻦ‬Âٰ‫َﺘ‬ëِ‫ˆُﻞ ٱﻟ‬ù‡ – – ‫﴿ ﺣٓﻢ ۝ ﺗ‬ 53 Ha Mim. The sending down of the

‫ِﻢ ۝ ﻏﺎِﻓ‡ﺮ‬9‫ٱﻟﻠـِﻪ ٱﻟَﻌ‡†ˆ‡ﺰ ٱﻟَﻌِﻠ‬ Book from Allah, the All-powerful, the
َ َ ۢ ‫ﱠ‬ All-knowing: Forgiver of Sins,
‫ِﺪ‬0‫ِﻞ ٱﻟﱠﺘْﻮِب ﺷِﺪ‬éِ‫ٱﻟﺬﻧِﺐ َوﻗﺎ‬ Accepter of Repentance, Terrible in
‫ﱠ ْ َ _ٰ َ ﱠ‬ َ l
‫ﻪ ِإﻻ‬Â‫ٱﻟِﻌﻘﺎِب ِذى ٱﻟﻄﻮِل ۖ ﻵ ِإﻟـ‬ Punishment, Infinite in Bounty: no
l _ ُ
﴾ ùُ ç ‫ِﻪ ٱﻟَﻤِﺼ‬9ْ‫¬َﻮ ۖ ِإﻟ‬ god but He; unto Him is the final
becoming [Ghafir 40:1-3]
Hā Mīm, tanzīlu l-Kitābi mina Llāhi l-
ʿAzīzi l-ʿAlīmi, Ghāfiri dh-dhanbi wa
qābili t-tawbi shadīdi l-ʿiqābi dhi ṭ-
ṭawli lā ilāha illa Huwa ilayhi l-masīr.
َ َ Å
﴾ ‫ﺎَرك‬$َ‫ﺎُﺑﻨﺎ * ﴿ ﺗ‬é ﴾ I ِ ‫ْﺴِﻢ ا‬Hِ ﴿ 54 Bismillah is our door,
ُ ْ
﴿ * ‫ﺲ ﴾ َﺳﻘﻔﻨﺎ‬ ٓ % ﴿ * ‫ﻄﺎُﻧﻨﺎ‬9‫ِﺣ‬
‫ﺺ ﴾ ِﻛﻔﺎَﻳُﺘـﻨﺎ * ﴿ ﺣٓﻢ ۝‬ ٓ ‫ٓﻌ‬9‫ﻛﻬ‬ò Tabaraka our walls,

‫* ٓﻋٓﺴ ٓﻖ ﴾ ِﺣﻤﺎَﻳُﺘـﻨﺎ‬ Ya Sin our roof,

ُ ُ Å _ l َ
‫ﻜُﻬُﻢ ٱﻟﻠـﻪ َو¬َﻮ ٱﻟﱠﺴِﻤﻴ ُﻊ‬9‫ِﻔ‬ë9َ‫﴿ ﻓَﺴ‬
l Kaf Ha Ya Ayn Sad our sufficiency,
﴾ ‫ُﻢ‬9‫ٱﻟَﻌِﻠ‬
Bismi Llāhi bābunā. Ha Mim Ayn Sin Qaf our protection.
Tabāraka ḥīṭānunā.
Yā Sīn saqfunā. And Allah will suffice you against
Kāf Hā Yā ʿAyn Sād kifāyatunā. them, and He is the All-hearing, the
Hā Mīm ʿAyn Sīn Qāf ḥimāyatunā. All-knowing. [Al-Baqarah 2:137]
Fa-sayakfīkahumu Llāhu wa Huwa s-
Samīʿu l-ʿAlīm

* ‫ش َﻣْﺴ ُﺒﻮٌل َﻋﻠْﻴﻨﺎ‬
‡ ‫ﺮ‬ 55 The veil of the Throne is lowered
Sitru l-ʿArshi masbūlun ʿalayna
upon us,
_ ٌ Å ُ– ْ َ َ
* ‫ ﻧﺎ ِﻇَﺮة ِإﻟْﻴﻨﺎ‬Iِ ‫ا‬æ ç ‫وﻋ‬ 56 the eye of Allah is looking at us;
wa ʿaynu Llāhi nāẓiratun ilaynā
_ َ ْ Å
*ۢ ‫ﻘﺪُر َﻋﻠْﻴﻨﺎ‬0ُ ‫ ﻻ‬I ِ ‫ ا‬Å ‫َﺤْﻮِل‬éِ 57 By the power of Allah we shall not be
ُ
‫ ٌﻂ ۝‬9‫﴿ َوٱﻟﻠـﻪ ِﻣﻦ َوَرآ ِﺋِﻬﻢ ﱡﻣِﺤ‬ overcome, and Allah encompasses
them from behind:
bi-ḥawli Llāhi lā yuqdaru ʿalaynā. Wa
Llāhu min warā'ihim muḥīṭun
_ ٌ ٌ ُ ُ
‫ح‬ê Éْ‫ﺪ ۝ ِ–• ﻟ‬9‫ْﻞ ¬َﻮ ﻗْﺮَءان ﱠﻣِﺠ‬éَ 58 Nay, it is a noble recitation, In a
ُ
* ﴾ ‫ﱠﻣْﺤﻔﻮ ٍۭظ‬ guarded tablet. [Al Buruj 85:20-22]
bal Huwa Qur'ānun Majīdun, fī
lawḥin Maḥfūẓ.
ُ‫ﻈﺎ َوُ¬َﻮ _أْرَﺣﻢ‬R ‫ِﻔ‬Âٰ‫ َﺣ‬ùٌ ْç ‫ﻠـُﻪ َﺧ‬Å‫﴿ َﻓﭑﻟ‬ 59 For Allah is best as protector, and He
(۳) ﴾ æ َ– ‫ٱﻟ ﱠ ٰﺮﺣﻤ‬ is most merciful of the merciful (3x)
çِ ِ [Joseph 12:64]
Fa-Llāhu khayrun Hāfiẓan wa Huwa
Arḥamu r-Rāḥimīn
َ Å ُ Å ‫ﱠ‬
‫ َﻰ ٱﻟﻠـﻪ ٱﻟِﺬى ﻧﱠﺰَل‬Â‫ـﱢ‬Âۧ ‫﴿ ِإن َوِﻟ ـ‬ 60 Verily, Allah is my protector, who
َ– ‫ﻠﺤ‬Âٰ‫; ٱﻟﱠﺼ‬Å ‫ﺐ َوُ¬َﻮ َﻳَﺘَﻮ‬
﴾æ َ Âٰ‫َﺘ‬ë‫ﻟ‬l‫ٱ‬ sent down the Book, and He looks
ç ِ ِ ِ after the righteous. (3x) [Al A’raf
(۳) 7:196]
Inna waliyyiya Llāhu lladhī nazzala l-
Kitāba wa Huwa yatawalla ṣ-ṣāliḥīn
ُ ‫ ُ َ _ َ ﱠ‬Å َ ْ َ
ۖ ‫ﻪ ِإﻻ ¬َﻮ‬Âٰ‫ ٱﻟﻠـﻪ ﻵ ِإﻟـ‬p eِ ‫﴿ _ ﺣ َﺴ‬ 61 Allah is my sufficiency, there is no
l ُ ُ l Å
ْ ‫ﻠﺖ ۖ و¬ﻮ رب ٱﻟَﻌ‬W‫ِﻪ ﺗَﻮ‬9ْ‫َﻋﻠ‬
‫ﱡ‬ َ َ َ god but He; on Him I rely, and He is
‫ش‬
‡ ‫ﺮ‬
l Lord of the Mighty Throne. (3x) [At-
(۳) ﴾ ‫ِﻢ‬9‫ٱﻟَﻌِﻈ‬ Tawbah 9:129]
Ḥasbiya Llāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa
ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbu l-
ʿArshi l-ʿAẓīm
‫ –ُ ﱡ‬0َ ‫ﻟِﺬي ﻻ‬Å‫ ا‬I
‫ َﻣ َﻊ اْﺳِﻤِﻪ‬€ ِ
Å
‫ا‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ِ ‫ﺴ‬ ْH 62 In the name of Allah with whose
‫ﱠ‬ – َ ْ َ – ٌ ْ َî ِ name nothing can cause harm in the
* ‫• اﻟﺴﻤﺎِء‬6 ِ ‫ض وﻻ‬ ‡ ‫• اﻷ ُر‬6 ِ ‫ء‬ß 6ُ َ earth or sky, and He is the All-
ُ َ
* (۳) ‫ﻢ‬9‫و¬ﻮ اﻟﺴِﻤﻴﻊ اﻟﻌِﻠ‬ ‫ﱠ‬ َ
hearing, the All-knowing. (3x)
Bismi Llāhi lladhī lā yaḍurru maʿa
Ismihi shay'un fi l-arḍi wa lā fi s-
samā'i wa Huwa s-Samīʿu l-ʿAlīm

 ْ‫ اﻟﱠﺘﺎﱠﻣﺎت ﻣﻦ‬I Å _ ُ ُ _ 63 I take refuge in the consummate
ِ ِ ِ ‫ِﻠ _ﻤﺎِت ا‬Yéِ ‫أﻋﻮذ‬
َ
(۳) ‫ ﻣﺎ ﺧﻠ َﻖ‬Z‫َ ﱢ‬î words of Allah from the evil of what
He has created. (3x)
Aʿūdhu bi kalimāti Llāhi t-tāmmāti
min sharri mā khalaq
‫ اﻟَﻌ ﱢ‬I Å ‫َ َ ْ َ َ ُﱠ َ ﱠ‬
46ِ ِ ‫ﺎ‬éِ ‫وﻻ ﺣﻮل وﻻ ﻗﻮة ِإﻻ‬ 64 And there is no power nor might
* (۳) ‫ِﻢ‬9‫اﻟَﻌِﻈ‬ except by Allah, the High, the Most
Great.
Wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-
Llāhi l-ʿAliyyi l-ʿAẓīm
_ ُÅ Å َ َ
‫ِﺪﻧﺎ ُﻣَﺤﱠﻤٍﺪ‬9‫ َﺳﱢ‬4‫ َﻋ‬I ‫ ا‬4‫وﺻ‬ END And Allah bless our liege lord

* ‫ًﻤﺎ‬9‫ْﺴِﻠ‬ƒ ‫ِﻪ َوَﺳﻠَﻢ‬$ِ‫َوآِﻟِﻪ َو َﺻْﺤ‬ Muhammad, and his folk and
َ– ‫ َرﱢب اﻟﻌﺎ_ﻟﻤ‬IÅ ‫َواﻟَﺤْﻤُﺪ‬
