REFLECTION

Looking at the transition of literary periods where a lot of reading materials were published, I
can say that the experience of reading literature more important than browsing information on the
internet because in reading literature it allows me to gain more knowledge about where we came from
and how past events work to shape the different cultures in our society. I imagine that when I
experience of reading literature I am like travelling in different places through my imaginations that
enable me to know see the struggles of people in the past, the true story and message behind the
poems and novels written by our great writers. Knowing the fact that in browsing the internet there are
so many websites that the contents can be edit as a result of a fake information, and as a Filipino
student it can lead me to misunderstand what our Philippine Literature is. Also, many people now,
believe instantly on what they see in the internet. We as a Filipino citizen must know the truth about our
literature like being colonized by many countries and still, our country came out with its own traditions
and culture. By experiencing of reading literature it made me realize that it is both curse and a blessing
for this lengthy period of colonization, it made us suffer, but it also made us stronger and better, each
period also emphasizes and gave birth to the firm reliance and concepts of the Filipinos, while they
applied their affection and loyalty to the nation and to the people who paved the way and opened their
eyes to the Filipinos who were deceived by the other people. Like in the time of American, it's a good
thing that they're embedding in us because we discover education, that's where we figured we wanted
to learn and improve our understanding so that we can govern our nation in our own way with total
confidence. But despite of there good contribution there is bad thing and that is calling our country as a
little America because in that era Philippine really depend on Americans and we can’t stand with our
own feet. So, I conclude that having the experience of reading literature is really important because it
will made you realized things and make you understand more our literature because you are focused
and not distracted unlike in browsing in the internet. Also, when you browse in your internet you will
attempt to just search what is its summary or conclusion instead of reading all the content in literature.
Also knowing the fact that Philippine Literature is very important, we need to comprehend that we
already have a wonderful and noble culture which can represent us as a means of assimilating other
culture by knowing the true meaning of it.
