Assessment

Testing; the worst feeling probably felt by all, at one time or another, either the creator,

the evaluator or the “taker,” grimaced. The main goal of assessing is to gauge a learner’s

attainment after instruction. You can call assessments a collection of things like: tests, quizzes

or examinations, ultimately, they all do the same; measure.

Assessing has many aspects. A Designer must decide why there is a need to test. What

is meant to be accomplish in testing. What is to be measured. Below is an example of true and

false questions to be administered after the instruction and according to the Terminal

Objectives. True and false questions provide the learners to decide between two alternatives.

Moreover, the learners make definite judgements. Furthermore, true and false questions are

geared to prove or disprove if a procedure will work. Since this instruction is mostly procedural it

is suitable to assess learners with non-abstract questioning, like true and false questions.

Simply the learner needs to recognize how to complete segmented tasks from the instruction.

Feedback to a learner after a test is a must. The feedback should be promptly and not be

condescending. Most learners desire feedback. Recognize partial success and encourage the

learner to review and try again. Lastly, weak or vague feedback should be avoided entirely.

Learners need to know what they did incorrectly so they can pursue information to correct their

misunderstanding of the material.
