And Indonesia youth that I proud of

Let us pray with gratitude to Allah SWT so that on September 24th we still can gathered in this
room in a healthy state.
May God is pleased to keep giving peace, properity, love and blessing which are abundant for our
country. Let us also pray so that Indonesian youth continues to evolve in establishing the future
of our nation with work hard, creativity and spirit of togetherness. on this occasion I would like to
deliver a speech in

Struggle that is not playing is certainly a value that is irreplaceable. If only the oath of youth is
not born, it is possible that Indonesia cannot be united as it is today.
Talking about the position of English in Indonesia cannot be separated from Indonesian history. In
the colonial era Dutch English language was taught MULO (Meer Uitgenreid lager onder wijs).
The equivalent of Middle School and AMS) Algecneene Middlebare school) which is equivalent
to high school. Usually MULO graduates can speak English and Dutch well.
The position of English in Indonesia is as a second language, because the second language is the
language used as a communication tool. Looking at the history, Indonesia was never colonized by
the British. Almost all colonized English countries use English as their communication tool, this is
because after independence these countries are included in Commonwealth or Great Britain so
they still have a relationship with Britain. This is of course different from Indonesia which seized
its independence and after independence did not have any connection with the Netherlands.
Another thing that influenced the position of English in Indonesia came from the oath of youth
which was held on October 28, 1928. Whereas young people pledged Indonesian as the official
language and language of unity and language that showed their identity as a foreign language in
Indonesia.

However, the position of the English language union, which became the country with the
strongest power and the most influential country in the world so it is not impossible that English
became the language used as an international communication tool.
This forces other countries to learn English to gain knowledge and technology. In the economic
field, almost 50% of companies in the world require their employees to master English, this is
because most of the world economy is held by Western countries. Therefore most developing
countries are required to use English in political negotiations including in Indonesia.
As we know, the youth of my forehead with the present age are very different. Ancient youths
were very enthusiastic in defending their homeland and achieving achievements

Currently youth has lost the spirit of unite because of affected by this modern life. Youth are
more individualistic and indifferent to environment so that caused so much schism among youth.
Moreover, the youth attitude now tends to be passive and do not want to know about the
development of our country. One of the examples is the lack of their participation in local
elections. The leaders who submitted himself as a leader came mostly from the old people.
Whereas if youth participate actively involved in politics in this country, it would create a lot of
innovation to make out nation develop.
Ladies and gentlemen
Where are the youth to day ? they now have been complacent of modern age. We prefer
activities that do not have benefits such as having fun and wasting money. Even money criminals
that arise are done by the youth. Drugs also play a huge role in destroying the spirit of the youth.
In fact, they are the successors of the nation that will run this country in the future.
So that was speech I have to say, Happy youth pledge day and may we always remain united in
maintaining this independence. Tank you for your attention.
