PROCEDURE FOR THE IP REGISTRATION

1. Innovator is advised to bring recommendation letter from concerned Faculty/Coordinator/

Head.
2. Innovator is advised to conduct a prior art search for product/design to check its novelty.
(Refer to Annexure - 1)
3. The IPR cell to recommend that your product falls under which type of IP.
(Copyright, Trademark, Patent, Design Registration)
4. Innovator to fill the Prior Information Consent (PIC) form along with the required details for
IP registration. (Refer Annexure-3)
5. IPR cell to process the information, get internal approvals if any in consultation with
general administration to proceed further & apply either on its own or through consultant.
6. IPR cell to follow up with the status of the applications.
7. The IPR cell in consultation with the innovator/creator to facilitate to the
objections/queries if any raised against the filed applications.
8. Once the registration certificate is obtained, the IPR cell to inform the same to the applicant,
innovator or creator.
9. The IPR cell will then, along with innovator may try to facilitate in promoting the product for
commercialization. (Through internal department or tying up with other institute like NRDC,
DSIR, etc...)

Requirement for various IP Registration

DESIGN REGISTRATION

1. 6 views of photographs Top, Bottom, all Sides and Perspective views.

(with white background, No human figure/element, or product not in use from any one
position)
2. Full details of product including salient features of the product.
3. A small write up on novelty in design, keeping in mind available related products in the
market.
4. Probable Place/Industry /Firm of use.

REGISTRATION OF TRADEMARK

1. 20 Copies of specimen artwork of the mark, which you want to get registered, rectangle in
size not more then 12 X 8 cm.
2. Proof of use if used since long.
3. Literatures of your product, like Brochures, Catalogs & other promotional literature of use of
mark.

COPYRIGHT REGISTRATION

1. 10 specimen original expression of work, which is to be applied as copyright.

2. Name,address and nationality of the applicant.
3. Title of the work.
4. Language of the work.
5. Year and country of first publication. ( name, address and nationality of the publisher)
6. Originality Certificate of the work. (Refer Annexure - 2)

PATENT REGISTRATION

1. Details of similar product already existing i.e. (prior art search) Report. (Refer Annexure – 1)
2. Full details of product including salient features of the product.
3. A small write up on novelty in design, keeping in mind available related products in the
market.
4. Probable Place/Industry /Firm of use.
5. Format for providing the details.
a Title
b Abstract
c Field of the invention
d Background of the invention
e Objects of the invention
f Description of the invention
g Brief description of the accompaning drawings
h Claims ( Feature on which we wish to clain our right)
6. Documentary proof of Priority (if filled in any other country)
