B.TECH.CORRESPONDENCE-CUM-CONTACT COURSE – 2009-2010


INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION TO THE APPLICANT
A. GENERAL:
I. All entries should be in the candidates’s own handwriting (in English) and the candidate will be held personally
responsible for any incorrect entry that he/she makes.
II. Any false or incorrect statement in the application detected at any stage, will render the admission of the
candidate null and void.
III. Application which is incomplete and which does not have relevant certificates is liable to be rejected.
IV. Hall Tickets will be sent to candidates by post. In case of non-receipt of Hall Ticket, it is the responsibility of the
candidate to personally contact office of the Director, Admissions, JNTUH, Kukatpally, Hyderabad atleast 3
days prior to the date of examination with two passport size attested photographs. A fee of Rs. 20/- to be paid
for issue of Duplicate Hall Ticket through D.D. in favour of Registrar, JNTUH, Hyderabad.
V. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission of the candidate at any stage, when, it is detected that
the admission is against rules.
VI. The candidates are advised to refer to rules of admission of the B.Tech. Correspondence-cum-contact course
before filling in the application.
VII. One recent passport size photograph must be attached to the application.
VIII. No age limit is prescribed for eligibility to apply.
IX. Fee once paid will not be refunded even if the application is rejected.
X. The photographs affixed on the application form and on the Hall Ticket sheet should be identical and attested by
the Principal of the Polytechnic last studied or by the employer.
XI. The signatures of the candidates on the Hall Ticket sheet are to be attested by the Principal of the Polytechnic
last studied or by the employer.
XII. If any dispute regarding admissions to B.Tech. (C.C.C) arises, the jurisdiction shall remain with the Courts of
Hyderabad only and the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.
B. APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE FOLLOWING :
I. Acknowledgement Card with address and stamp.
II. Demand Draft on any nationalized Bank for Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of Registrar, JNTUH, payable at Hyderabad.
III. Main application form, duly filled in.
IV. Certified copy of marks and Diploma Certificates.
V. Certificate of service, Employment and ‘No Objection‘
VI. Caste Certificate, if any
VII. Attested copy of SSC/HSC/SSLC in proof of age.
VIII. Attested copy of Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last studied.
IX. Certificate in support of claim for reservation under CAP, NCC, SP, PH categories. (Harizental reservations)
X. Address Slips.
XI. Hall Ticket sheet (Original and Duplicate) duty filled in with Photographs affixed and duly attested.
XII. Five self addressed envelopes of 25x10 cms. Size duly stamped (affixed Rs.5.00 stamps).
Note: The candidate should arrange the documents in the above mentioned order and fasten them securely with a
tag.

C. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION:


The filled in application with all the certificates as mentioned in ‘B‘ should be sent to Director, admissions,
JNT University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad – 500 085, by Hand or Registered Post so as to
reach him before 4.00 P.M. on 30-01-2010.
Application received after the due date will not be entertained. The Director, Admissions is not responsible for
any postal delay.
Note: Applications which are incomplete, which do not have the required Certificates and which do not have the Bank
Draft for Rs. 500/- will be rejected.

Contact centres may be deleted added at the time of admissions. If minimum of 15 candidates are not admitted /
registered, that centre may be deleted and students may be adjusted at different contact centres.
II. The course shall be of a minimum duration of 4 years and a maximum of 8 years. There shall be a Contact Programme at
the centres allotted, for a period of 3 to 4 weeks in every academic year. Attendance at the Practical classes of the Contact
programme is compulsory. The contact centre allotted at the time of admission is final and there will not be transfer to
other contact centres either for contact programme or for examination.

III. ELIGIBILITY:
a) Educational Qualifications:
Only those candidates who have obtained a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering from the State Board and Technical
Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics and Communication
Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, as equivalent thereto,
are eligible for admission to the B.Tech. Correspondence-cum-Contact Course in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering as
the case may be. Other Diploma certificates holders should attact a equivalent certificate from State Board of Technical
Education of Andhra Pradesh State.
b) Employment.
The candidate must be currently employed within the State of Andhra Pradesh. Those who are in the employment of State
or Central Government Organisations / Public Sector Undertakings, Local bodies, Universities and other similar Quasi-
Government Organisations, recognized undertakings Private Sector organizations located within the State of Andhra Pradesh
are eligible.
Private sector organizations shall furnish documentary evidence for the recognition, such as APGST Registration, Industrial
licence, Approval / licence from concerned Government or Public Sector Departments.

IV. AGE LIMITS:
No age limits are prescribed for admission to this course.

V. Reservation of Seats for Certain Categories of Candidates:


1) Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes:
a) 15% of seats are reserved for S.C. candidates.
b) 6% of seats are reserved for ST. candidates.

2. BACKWARD CALASSES:
29% of seats in each course of study are reserved for Backward Class (A, B, C, D, E Groups) and they will be allotted for
groups as:
A : 7 %;
B : 10 %;
C : 1 %;
D : 7 %;
E : 4 %.
The Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Backward Class Candidates seeking admission shall produce Community Certificate
in the prescribed form, not bolow the rank of MRO, appended to the application, in support of the social status claim. If the
community certificate is not furnished in the prescribed form, it shall not be accepted.
Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules and may other orders of this University and Governement, the genuineness
of Social Status claim of the various candidates seeking admission under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward
Class category shall be verified by the Directror of Social Welfare, Director of Tribal Welfare, Director of Backward Classes
respectively whose decision in this regard shall be final.
If no suitable candidates are available in any of the reservation groups, then the unutilized seats shall be added to the general
pool.

3. N.C.C., Sport, Physically Handicapped, CAP Categories: (Horizontal reservations)


The following percentage of reservation under NCC, Sports, CAP, Physically Handicapped categories is provided.
CAP : 2%
Sports : ½%
Physically Handicapped : 3%
N.C.C. : 1%
While giving admission to these categories in 1,2 and 3 the latest guidelines issued by Govt. of A.P. will be followed.

4. RESERVATION OF SEATS FOR WOMEN:


Reservation is as per the G.O.Ms.No.75 of Edn., (EC.2) dt. 13-03-96, 33 1/3% of the seats in each course in each institution
shall be reserved in favour of women candidates from each category i.e., open competition, SC. ST. BC. (A, B, C, D,E) CAP
quota, NCC, PH, Games/Sports. This rule of reservation shall not be applicable if women candidates selected on merit in
each category from 33 1/3% or more therein. In the absence of suitable women candidate in the respective categories,
these seats shall be filled with men candidates of the same category.

VI. SELECTION OF CANDIDATES:


i) An entrance examination shall be held for admission to B.Tech. Correspondence-Cum-Contact Programme as per the
scheme and syllabus prescribed by JNT University Hyderabad.
ii) Selection will be made strictly in order of merit in the entrance examination. In case of a tie in the aggregate, marks
obtained in the Engineering subject and if the tie still continues, the marks obtained in Mathematics/Physics Paper will
be taken into account to decide the relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the papers, they
will be bracketed together for the purpose of award of rank.

Age of candidate will be considered at the time of admission for resolving the tie, the older candidate being given
preference. There shall be separate ranking for each branch.
III) OC/BC candidates are eligible if he/she secure 25% of marks in the entrance examination. No minimum marks in the
entrance examination for SC/ST candidates. The cut off marks may be increated or decreated depending on the no. of
candidates.

VII. GENERAL:
Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad may on their own
motion or on the application of any person and after due proper enquiry and after giving the person concerned an opportunity
to explain, order the withholding of the publication of the name of a candidate who has been provisionally selected, cancel
the admission if already made, or debar any candidate from applying for admission to the B.Tech. Correspondence-cum-
contact course permanently or for a specified period, if in the opinion of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, such
candidate has furnished incorrect particulars or suppressed relevant information in the application or in the documents
attached thereto or in the statements made to the University or has adopted any other fraudulent means.
Every care will be taken in avoid errors in the evaluation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and ranking. Hence, request for re-
totalling or personal identification of scripts will not be entertained.
Photographs enclosed must be recent ones and should have been taken after 1-1-2010

VIII. DECLARATION FORMS:


i) Every candidate will have to give a declaration as follows : “I declare that the foregoing statements are true. Any statement
made in the application, if found incorrect on scrutiny, will render the application liable to rejection and admission, if granted
on the basis of such incorrect information will stand cancelled”.
ii) Every Candidate will have to give a declaration, at the time of admission, as follows: “I declare that I have not joined and will
not join any course of study of any University / Institute during the period of my study of B.Tech (CCC) in this University. I
have read the rules of admission and I agree to abide by them.”

IX. FEE:
The following fee are payable:
i) Entrance Examination Fee : Rs.500/-
The entrance Examination fee of Rs.500/- must be paid through crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar,
JNT University Hyderabad payable at Hyderabad on any Natinalised bank. Application forms not accompanying the
Demand draft will be summarily rejected.

Note: ii) Admission Fee Rs.200/-


iii) Tuition Fee per year Rs.12000/-
iv) Counselling Fee Rs. 500/-
v) Books/Notes Rs. 2000/-

X. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad will have the power to amend or alter these rules from time to time
without any notice.

XI. List of Nationalized Banks:

Note:

1. Reservation shall be available only to the Children of Ex-Servicemen Armed Personnel, B.S.F. & C.R.P.F. who
are residing for a minimum period of five years in Andhra Pradesh. Copies of residence certificate signed by
M.R.O. from where the candidates claim the residence of his parents a certificate from Zilla Sainik Welfare
Officer as to the eligibility, specifying category must be enclosed.

2. Candidates who do not come under any of the above categories (i) and (iv) will not be eligible for consideration
under the reserved category.

NOTE :
1. Question paper consists of 200 Multiple choice type questions with distribution as indicated above.
2. Each question carries one mark.
3. Cadidates will not be admitted into the Entrance Test hall once the examination commences i.e. after 10.00 A.M.
and will not be allowed to leave before 12.30 P.M.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Candidates will not be admitted after the commencement of the Test i.e. after 10.00 A.M. and not
allowed to leave before the last 30 minutes of the Examination.

2. The Hall Ticket shall be produced at the time of examination, failing which the candidate will not be
allowed to appear for the examination.
3. Use HB pencil only to darken the circles. Darken the appropriate circles of 1,2,3 or 4 in the OMR
sheet corresponding to correct answer to the concerned question number in the sheet.
4. THE HALL TICKET SHALL BE PRESERVED TILL THE TIME OF ADMISSION, without which
the candidate is not eligible for admission.
5. Mathematical tables, Calculators, Mobiles and other electronic gadgets will not be allowed for
examination.
6. No travelling expenses will be paid for journey undertaken for appearing for the Entrance
Examination.
7. Adoption of any kind of unfair means at the time of examination or taking part in any act of
impersonation will render the applicant liable for cancellation of his/her script and forfeiture of his/
her claim for appearing for the examination. Decision of the Chief Superintendent of the
Examination Centre shall be final in all these matters.
8. Issue of Hall Ticket and appearance at the Examination does not automatically entitle a candidate
