On-Line Annual Memorial Service

Sunday 15th November 2020
6:30 p.m.
Liturgist: Rev. Kelli Jolly Preacher: Bishop Theophilus Rolle

Processional Hymn: # 238 VIP “Come, Ye that Love the Lord”

Call to Worship:
We remember, O God…
The countless saints of history who have blazed a trail of courage through time,
We remember, O God…
The tender touch of loved ones, the example of heroes, the healing words of
comforters, the remarkable acts of fearless ones.
We remember, O God…
The gentle strength of grandmothers, the loyalty of friends, the kindness of
strangers, the joy of children, the sacrifice of parents.
We remember, O God…
The supreme love of Jesus, the blessing of his Spirit, the reminder of his words, the
sharing of his suffering, the glory of his resurrection: shown forth in the lives of
his disciples, young and old, dead and living, articulate and silent, strange and
familiar, brilliant and ordinary.
We remember in every time and place the saints of God who have shown us the Lord.
ALL: SINCE WE ARE SURROUNDED BY SO GREAT A CLOUD OF
WITNESSES... LET US WORSHIP GOD WITH JOY!

Hymn: # 370 VIP “Angel Voices, Ever Singing”

Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Forgiveness

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
P: Let us confess our sins before God and in each other's presence.
We live in fear of death.
Forgive us, O God, for not seeing that death, as well as life, is in
your hands.
Because we see death as the end, we often live as though we have no
future, surrendering ourselves to despair.
Forgive us, O God, and remind us that Christ was raised from the dead,
the first fruits of those who have died in the faith.
We have a narrow vision of being your people.
Forgive us, O God, and open our eyes to the unity of your whole church
and all her saints spanning time and space.
We try to escape the responsibilities of today.
Forgive us, O God, for our lack of faith and our irresponsibility.
The resurrection of God's Son is our living hope.  God's Spirit forgives
and renews us in hope. Whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.
We live in this hope.  Amen.
We live forgiven under God.  Amen!  Alleluia

Collect:
Almighty God, who hast knit together thine elect in one communion and
fellowship, in the mystical body of thy Son Christ our Lord. Grant us grace so to
follow thy blessed Saints in all virtues and godly living, that we may come to
those unspeakable joys, which thou hast prepared for them that unfeignedly love
thee, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Moment of Silence

Prayers of Intercession: Bro. Colin Newton

In God alone is my soul at rest. All my help comes from Him.

He alone is my Rock, my Stronghold My Fortress, I stand firm.
Lord, hear our prayer: to You all flesh will come.
Lord, hear our prayer: to You all flesh will come.
Remember, Lord, Your servants.
Who are gone before us from this world, signed with the seal of faith, and are
sleeping the sleep of peace,
Let us remember all departed Ministers of God’s people.
They shared Your Ministry and Your work; Lord, may they now enjoy the
reward of their labours in Your vineyard, an eternal rest.
Let us remember our departed parents and grandparents.
May those who gave us life and love have life eternal in the family of Your saints
in Heaven.
Let us remember our other friends and relatives: husbands and wives, children,
grandchildren, cousins, aunts and uncles who have gone before us.
May we meet them again in the Heavenly Jerusalem. There united in perfect
friendship may we rejoice with them in praising You, Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
Lord remember us sinners, but Your servants who put our trust in Your
countless mercies. Lead us through the changing scenes of this life, the pains, the
joys and the sorrows until we see You face to face. Through Christ our Lord.
Let us pray to our Father, God of the living and the dead.
The Lord’s Prayer

Hymn: # 347 VIP “For All the Saints”

Benediction
May the strength of God sustain us; may the power of God preserve us; may
the hands of God protect us; may the way of God direct us; may the love of
God go with us this night and forever. The Lord lift up His countenance upon
us, and give us peace, this night and forever more.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy
Spirit be with you all. Amen.
