Course Objectives:
This subject deals with the various impacts of infrastructure projects on the components of
environment and method of assessing the impact and mitigating the same. The student is expected
to know about the various impacts of development projects on environment and the mitigating
measures.
Course Content:
1. Introduction (4 hrs)

1.2. Environmental impact assessment (EIA)
1.3. Environmental impact statement (EIS)
1.4. Objectives and types of EIA
1.5. Current issues in EIA
1.6. EIA capability and limitations
1.7. History of EIA in Nepal
1.8. Legal provisions on EIA in Nepal
