LESSON TOPIC: “Wh…” Questions
TYPE OF LESSON: Revision session
VOCABULARY: all and none (general)
GRAMMAR: - Past Simple – regular/irregular verbs
- question words (who?, what?, when?, where?, why?, how long?, how much?, how
many?)
- TO BE - Past Tense (was/were)
- “yes/no” answers and negative statements
MAIN FOCUS: to check Ss knowledge of some important grammar issues taught in this unit (Past
Simple - regular/irregular verbs)
OBJECTIVES:
A) COGNITIVE OBJECTIVES: by the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:
2. underline some Past Simple verbal forms
3. fill in the correct form of the verb and turn it into negative/interrogative
4. complete a table with Infinitive, Past simple and the translation of the verb
5. speak about a past activity
6. recognize and properly use the verbs in past tense in their own statements
7. make questions for underlined words
8. select some information from the read text and complete sentences

B) AFFECTIVE OBJECTIVES:
- to create a warm atmosphere in order to offer the background for smooth, easy
conversations between teacher and students
- to make students confident in themselves when speaking a foreign language

ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE: - I assume that students already know the difference between regular /
irregular verbs and what changes appear in the structure of the tense when
using interrogative/negative forms. They are expected to use various
question words and a large amount of verbs in their statements.
ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
- if she thinks it is necessary, the teacher will offer the students guidance in
solving certain exercises;
- some Ss might have problems when working in pairs;
- a few among the Ss may be given supplementary explanations in
Romanian.
ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY: the students will be assessed on class participation
