20 mins Students will listen to the UAE anthem.

Tr: now we will listen to the Month of the year song.

Tr: what month is this?

Ss: October.

Tr: what date is today?

Ss: 27.

Students will listen to “7 days of the week song”

tr: what day is today?

Ss: Tuesday.

Tr: how many days we have in the week?

Ss: 7.

- Prior knowledge:

Tr: let's take the attendance, please send one emoji in the chat box.

Tr: you will need an eraser, math book2, paper, pencil.

Tr will put an equation about the lesson that they took yesterday which is take
apart tens to subtract

Tr will present 54 – 13 =

Tr: what we have to do here?

We will break down 13 into 10 – 3, then we will subtract 54 – 10 = 44


Then 44 – 3 = 41
So, 54 – 13 = 41

- Modelling:

Tr: today we will learn about Regroup a Ten as Ones.

Tr: our vocabulary is, tens, ones, subtract, regroup. 

Tr will present an equation 24 – 8

Tr: here we have 24 – 8, first we will use 2 tens and 4 ones, which show 24.

Tr: next, we will subtract the ones, we need to take away 8 ones from 24.

Tr: there are 4 ones in 24, they are not enough ones to subtract, so we need to
regroup.

Tr: to regroup we need to take 1 ten from the tens column and replace it with
ten ones.

Tr: now we have 14 ones.

Tr: next subtract 8 ones, tr will subtract 8 ones.

Tr: now we have 1 ten and 6 ones left, so 24 – 8 = 16.

Tr will solve 2 more questions with the students.
