Economist: Western State Helps Secure Money Corruptor

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JOHANNESBURG - Nobel laureate economist, Joseph Stiglitz,

criticized western countries which actually opened opportunities for the corrupt. According
to Stiglitz, two-faced western countries in combating corruption. On the one hand they ask
developing countries in Africa to remove corruption. But on the other hand, money-money
proceeds of crime and corruption in Africa actually stored in safe banks in western
countries. "Developed countries should not wash their hands just like that. They must take
responsibility," said former World Bank chief economist, told CNN Wednesday.
