MINISTRY FOR THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give of
their time and care to bring Holy
Communion to our parishioners who
cannot make it to church due to
sickness or infirmity. If you know of
anyone who would like to receive communion in their
home or while hospitalized at West Lincoln Hospital,
please contact the parish office.
MEETINGS & EVENTS
At this time and until further notice, parish meetings,
bingo and other events are cancelled. It is suggested
that groups find alternate meeting places should you
wish to meet with your group.
MASS INTENTIONS 2021
If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone,
contact the parish office. The Mass stipend or offering
given is $10.00. Mass cards are $2.00.
PREAUTHORIZED DEBIT
(PAD) is offered for your donations. If you are
interested in using this convenient way to make your
offerings to the church, please contact the parish office.
Donations are processed once a month, on or about the
15th.

ANNUAL OFFENCE DECLARATIONS
It’s that time of the year again… your friendly
Responsible Faith Ministry reminder! Even though due
to Covid-19, much of the usual volunteering through
our parish has not happened for most of this year,
nonetheless, all volunteers with a police clearance
through St. Helen must complete the annual offence
declaration form.
It is very easy to complete – simply print the form,
complete the top section, sign and date it. You can
either scan it to the office email or hand it in directly at
the office. Please do this as soon as possible, since the
office needs all the forms by end of November 2020.
By doing this, you will maintain the validity of your
current police check clearance moving forward. This
means we will be able to seamlessly resume activities
once restrictions for volunteering are lifted.

 Christ the King
As for you, my flock, I shall judge between one sheep
and another. (Ezekiel 34)
Christ hands over the kingdom to God the Father, so
that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15)
The Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, and
he will separate people one from another. (Matthew 25)
In nations ruled by a royal
family, the concept of
monarchy is based on two
premises: that the king rules
by “divine right,” that is, by
the authority of God; and that
the character of the entire
nation is vested in their king,
sometimes expressed in the
idea of the sovereign being the “father” of his children,
the governed. In this light, Christ is indeed King. Jesus
is the anointed one of God, the Christus, the Messiah
raised up by the Father. And he is the very essence of
his people, the Church. His Gospel is the bond that
unites us as Church; the Eucharist, his body, gives life
to that Church.
To claim that Christ is our “King,” to proclaim
ourselves to be “Christians,” demands a clear and
conscious decision by each of us, not passive
compliance to a “herd” spirituality. To truly celebrate
this feast means to welcome Christ not just into the
compartments and slots of our lifestyles marked
“religion” but into every thread and fiber of the fabric
of our lives.
The reign of Christ begins when we see one another
as Christ. The true value of every human life is the light
that God kindles within each one of us; our worth is
found in the love of God that our lives reveal to the
world.
Before God, we stand as brothers and sisters; before
God, the distinctions of class and culture that separate
us disappear; before God, we are all loved without
condition or limit. Jesus’ parable of the sheep and the
goats challenges us to see the world in the light of
God’s compassion: as a community that is centered in
the holiness of God that dwells within every man,
woman and child; a community that sees deeper than
the externals of race, nationality, culture and language
in order to behold the love of God animating the lives
of all who draw breath; a community that reflects the
compassion and mercy of God in our care for one
another.
CCWN ANGEL WISHES
CCWN Angel Wishes was initiated by Rita
Morissette, a deceased member of our parish
in her desire to make a child's special
Christmas wish come true. We encourage you
to fulfill the special Angel Wish the child has made.
This allows the parents to breathe a sigh of relief
knowing that the sparkle of Christmas Wonder will be
possible for their child.
This generally entails a recommended financial
investment of $30-40 per child. Please select a profile
from the display in the church, write your name and
phone number on the list and return your wrapped gift
and profile card to the church by December 5th.
HELP NEEDED - ALTAR LINEN MINISTRY
The Cleaning of Altar Linens involves washing and
ironing the purificators that are used for wiping the
sacred cup during communion, and the towels that are
used on the altar by the Priests and the Eucharistic
Ministers for washing their hands. The linens are taken
home weekly after the Sunday Masses, and then
returned to the sacristy the following week. We are in
desperate need of someone to assist in this ministry
for just a few weeks. If you're interested in
volunteering for this "behind the scene" ministry of
cleaning the Altar Linens, please speak with Fr. Chris.
ADVENT RETREAT FOR BUSY
CATHOLIC WOMEN
Join retreat facilitator, Terri Pauco from the Family and
Youth Office, from the comfort of your own home, for
A Virtual Advent Retreat for Busy Catholic Women
being held through ZOOM on Dec. 12, 2020 from
9:00am to 11:30am. Women of all ages are invited to
join online to pray and explore the idea of finding peace
in the seasonal preparations and busyness of life
complicated by the pandemic. Bishop Bergie will lead a
portion of this sacred time. This event is free. Register

This year, the Daughters of St. Paul Choir’s Christmas
Concert is finally making it to Canada… virtually! The
Daughters of St. Paul are an international congregation
of religious sisters who evangelize through the media.
This year has offered the sisters the unique opportunity

Christmas,” with choir members joining in from their

COVID 19 pandemic
