IRP-Overview

Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) is working for the promotion of research culture in Pakistan.
The constant and untiring efforts of IRP for last five years have made significant change in the life
of researchers. IRP covers the entire spectrum of research facilitation with a very unique and
innovative model of research support services. IRP is regular organizer of training events
(workshops, seminars and conferences, symposium) in research method in the universities and R&D
organizations of Pakistan.

IRP-Proposal
Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) is launching an institutional one-day training on
“Citation & Referencing in Research Using EndNote X14”(latest version) and invites
Universities, R&D organization and other Public/Private Institutes to host and organize
this workshop in their own premises .

The workshop would equip the participants to shift from manual work to citation and
referencing by using EndNote® software X14. The participants will also learn to use
databases effectively for advanced searching, finding relevant resources and creating
libraries of their references. The workshop is highly interactive with major focus on hands-
on- practices and usage of software.

IRP intends to conducts this workshop for faculty members, research students and research
associates. The trained researchers with high level of motivation will produce high quality
research. The university can present to higher forums at national and international level
about improved culture of research as a result of university effort.

Such a valued learning exercises, if continue develop culture of research and development in
the institution. Regular organization of capacity building workshops for the researchers will
increase rate of university publications and improve the image in scholarly world.

Creating references and citing published work in research writing is one of the most critical
areas for publishing in the international journals of repute. The researchers of social, medical
and pure sciences need good skills for making citation acceptable for the targeted journals of
their discipline. This workshop would equip the participants to shift from manual work to
citation and referencing by using EndNote® software. The participants will also learn to use
databases effectively for advanced searching, finding relevant resources and creating
libraries of their references. The workshop is highly interactive with major focus on hands-
on- practices and usage of software.

Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) is an organization working for the promotion of research
culture in Pakistan. IRP has developed the largest database (www.pdb.irp.edu.pk) of abstracts,
published in the journals of Pakistan. IRP is managing UIP project (www.uip.lcci.org.pk) in
collaboration with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote university-industry
partnership n the area of innovative research. IRP serves in literary service, surveys and data
management, development research projects and capacity building in research.
