It is difficult  Your praise and it is hidden Your virtues in all
You are visible there in all and You are there in everything
For every particle, you are created from the beginning to end
You are Sustainer of all not in this world, but in another world
You are Lord of the worlds and you are forgiver of the worlds
You are kind to all and Your kind favor is there for all persons
Those who are pious then You are merciful to such persons
Your special favour is there for them and You are kind to all
You are the owner everyone settle deeds on judgment day
In your hands is a penalty and a prize and you are the owner
All our worship is for Your sake, oh Lord of the two worlds
All slaves belong to you from the origin, if he is big or small
For all our needs you are essential and Your personality is kind
You give all one who calls you as You are a kind helper to all
Guide us such right path now, on which path who went away
With Your graces and all passed away on such a path indeed
But there will be no such way never, which is ignored by You
So who lost and misguided on such way due to your anger
This is the prayer of your slave and its is request of your lowest
Accept the prayer of Sahwi as you are an owner of two worlds

Tadhkiratal-Auliya’ by Farid-AL-Din Attar

Introduction

Farid Al-din Attar is considered one of the preeminent mystical


poets of the Persian literary tradition. The duration of his life is
uncertain, though he can be placed in the 12th and 13th centuries
C.E. born in Nishapur in what is today Iran. Attar apparently
was a pharmacist but little information about his personal life
is  known. During his lifetime he is believed to have written
approximately 9 books, including such famous works as The
Manteq Al-Tayr (The Conference of the Birds)   and The Ilahi-
Nama (The book of God) Tadhkiratal-Auliya (Muslim Saints
and Mystics) is considered world famous classical book of
Persian literature which printed and re-Printed in many
countries.

            An abridgment, translated by A.J. Arberry, of Attar's


only known prose work Tadhkirat Al-Auliya (The Memorial of
the Saints) which he worked on throughout much of his life and

which was available publicly before his death. Arberry's


translation is an abridgment. The entry on Owaise of Qarani
translated by me which was omitted in Arberry's text is added to
the above web site. In Tadhkiratal-Auliya Sheikh Farid-Al-Din
Attar wrote many chapters and in those chapters, there is full
information and details of the titles are available. His style of
writing is most interesting and for this reason, the readers will
remember the chapters from the above great book for a longer
time.
Due to many great chapters, this book is very famous in   the
world and its translations are available in many languages of the

publication note about the entry on Owasie of Qarni. Muslim
Saints and Mystics is an abridgment, translated by A.J. Arberry,
of Attar's only known prose work: Tadhkirat al-Auliya (The

what is considered the most compelling entry in this book, Attar

 Shah Jahan’s love and Mumtaz’s beauty

 No-one leaves without feelings of beauty
 After seeing the Taj Mahal’s majesty
 The Taj was reminding me of the duty of love
 And showing the king’s power of love
 Even today in the darkness of strife
 The Taj is preaching a lesson of love and life.

2. In Thy memory


 
 
Her death day came with the fragrance of the memories
 Which shaken the depth of our the saddest memories
 Even the seasonal changes and otherworldly affairs
 Could not diminish away her saddest loving memories
 Due to the saddest grief, our souls are broken
 We are worldly losers and our hearts are broken
 Oh: her saddest old memories you must not die
 Guide us to cover the deliverances of the world
 Oh: the heavenly Lord takes Thou care of this soul
 Who never faced any worldly peace and pleasure.

3.The Dim flame


 
 
At the flame of her life was going to dim
 No one of us not there to say goodbye
 It is how painful for our whole lives
 That we cannot see her at death time
 Death is sure for every human beings
 But how her strange death was true?
 Her loving relatives were far from her
 And they cannot reach for the last visit
 We should believe in the heavenly Lord
 Who made our vast and human land
  She has gained a position in the grave
 So, We should not worry Allah is great.

The author wept very much at the Kazipet graveyard
 
  The author upon his return from his service of the foreign
country visited Kazipet after a gap of many years the grave of
his grandfather and grandmother at Kazipet recently in the
month of May 2014.
  When he visited the grave of his grandfather, which is under
a big Neem tree and its shed is spread over large areas of the
graveyard and my grandmother’s grave is situated beside the

grave of my grandfather. Both graves are well maintained so


they are available in good condition.
As both graves are under the big old Neem tree so there is
too much shade, as well as so much cold and peaceful
atmosphere and comfort, is available there. So an atmosphere of
peace and comfort is   available there too much due to the
coolness of the branches of Neem tree which is prevailing in the
graveyard. For this reason, an atmosphere of coolness and peace
condition is there   and due to this reason, there will be thinking
arise in the mind of the author that both of them living in a
peaceful condition.
       However, the author wept too much there because his
grandfather who was administrator of the shrine of Kazipet for
many years and his grandmother who lived in Kazipet village
for many years and she did many endeavors there and she
helped many needy women and children there so now both of
them are buried in the graveyard of Kazipet shrine and nobody
is not there in the village to visit them from their lineage but
many unknown visitors are visiting their graves there and the
author have personally seen many flowers on the graves which
were placed by those unknown persons.

The connection of the author’s family members with Kazipet

 When my granddad Sheikh Dadan reached Kazipet on his


transfer from another place and he was attracted by the teachings
of Sufi Center at Kazipet during the period of Hazrat Syed Shah
Sarwar Biabani Radi Allahu Anhu the successor and son of great
Sufi master Hazrat Syed Shah Afzal Biabani Radi Allahu Anhu.
When my granddad became his disciple and he left immediately
the following things.

 1 .He left his superior job in the police department. 2. He left


his native place of Medak. 3. He left his big house in Medak.
 Due to the kindness and favour of Hazrat Syed Shah
Ghulam Biabani Radi Allahu Anhu my granddad had got the job
of estate administrator of Dargah Sharif and a plot of land of
1000 yards from the center of Kazipet village. On this plot, my
granddad had constructed a big house (Gulshan Manzil) on 500
yards and one big garden on 500 yards.

My name is Mohammed Abdul Hafeez and I have graduated in
commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. I am a
Translator of Islamic books and interested in Sufi books and
have translated 58 chapters from the famous Sufi book
‘Tadkiratal Awliya’ by Farid El din Attar in the year 2009 from
Urdu to English and some chapters of the book were published
on the below web site and due to kind grace and help of Allah
there is good response from its readers in large numbers on so
many web sites. 
  The book ‘Muslims Saints and Mystics’ was already
published by A. S. Noordeen Malaysia and in this book
available 55 episodes in the year 2013 and another book
Muslims Saints and Mystics also published by Kindle, Amazon
U. S. A., and in this book lengthy three episodes are available in
the year 2014.

 I am a retired secretary and worked in a Gulf country in


Saud
Arabia for many years and have one son and his name is
Mohammed Abdul Wasi Rabbani, who was studying in St.
Dominic's school Salimnagar colony Hyderabad and at K.B.N.
Engineering college Gulberga and he is an IT Engineer and
working abroad. We are having four little grandchildren and
their names are as follows and among them, Shehzan is very
smart boy and my wife’s name is Ather Fatima and my daughter
in law’s name is Juhi Yasmeen and she was educated in St.
Dominic's school Salimnagar colony Hyderabad, Vani Girls
College and Madina Girls college as an extra-ordinary and
brilliant student of these educational institutions.1. Mohammed
Sulaiman 2. Mohammed Osman 3. Mohammed Shehzan 4.
Sahrish Fatima
  I enjoy doing the translation of Sufi works and my translated
first episode is available with the following publication note of
Mr. David Rosenbaum of the New York Times which is
available on the above mentioned famous U.S.A. website.
    At Kazipet Jagir my dad, Mohammed Afzal and my brother
Mohammed Abdus Samad and Me Mohammed Abdul Hafeez
and my sister Meher Unisa were born there. In Qazipet my
father married to Akthar Begum, daughter of Mr. Abdul Majeed
of 
  Bidar district who was working at that time in the education
department as an education officer. After many years of service
at Qazipet Dargah Sharif (shrine) with great fame and good
name, my granddad passed away and upon his death, our big
house was deserted as all members of our family migrated to
Hyderabad and some other places, but my grand mom stayed in
the big lonely house with her maidservant as she never thinks to

leave the place of his great Sufi master. Upon living many years
there she had been shifted to Hyderabad when she became ill
due to the fracture of her foot, but due to her great love for the
great Sufi Center at Kazipet upon her death, we had taken her
dead body to Kazipet from Hyderabad and she was buried at the
backside of the tomb of her Murshid (spiritual master) Syed
Shah Sarwar Biabani. (R. A.) 
      During 1986 I had tried my best to re-settle my family
members from Hyderabad to Kazipet Jagir but I was not
successful in this matter as my son's (Mohammed Abdul Wasi
Rabbani) application for admission in St. Gabriel school Fatima
Nagar was not accepted there due to late submission. We are
staying in Hyderabad with our family members, but we never
miss any chance to visit the holy shrine of Hazrat Syed Shah
Afzal Biabani R. A. And Hazrat Syed Shah Sarwar Biabani R.A.
At Kazipet Jagir on regular basis.

An event of the theft during the service of a period of my


grandfather at Kazipet shrine
 
     During the period of Syed Shah Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, this
event was happening. At that time there was a grant of Rupees
fifty towards the salaries of the staff of Noban Khana (the place
from where time is announced by the beat of the drum) in which
there were some staff members used to work there and it was
headed by the supervisor. By the government of H.E.H.The
Nizam of Hyderabad, there was every month the royal grant
which was used to reach the custodian of the Qazipet shrine
through the supervisor from the government treasury. From

there it will reach the administrator of the estate and who will be
used to distribute the amount of salaries to all concerned staff.
     As per reference by Tufazal Hussain advocate that one month
the supervisor of Nobat Khana who was obtained the amount of
Rupees fifty towards the salaries from the Royal treasury office
and he was fled to Hyderabad. But in the shrine building, the
staff members were waiting for him to receive their salaries
from him and but at last, they were able to know that the
supervisor was fled from Qazipet and he was reached to
Hyderabad.
       At that time the custodian of the shrine of Kazipet was in
Hyderabad. So the estate administrator Sheikh Dadan, who was
grandfather of the translator of this book was informed the
details of this case to Tufazal Hussain advocate and this event
was mentioned by Syed Khaja Sadat Hussain Biyabani in his
Urdu book ‘Lemat Biyabani’ (This book was already translated
by me with the title of Biography of Hazrat Syed Shah Ghulam
Afzal Biabani and has been posted by in the paperback and
electronic book formats on amazon.com) and he was mentioned
the details of this event on the pages 110-111 of his book and he
was requested to take action against the supervisor of the police
department. In his reply, Tufazal Hussain advocate wrote him
that as the custodian of the shrine is present in Hyderabad and if
we start action against him, so due to kindness if the culprit will
be forgiven by him then it will be not proper in this matter to
initiate the case against him. So it is better to take the approval
of the action from the custodian of the shrine first so that it is
proper to take further action in this matter. 
     It was learned by me that the estate administrator Sheikh
Dadan was sent the letters by post to Hyderabad for the kind
perusal of the shrine custodian there.

 The estate administrator Sheikh Dadan who is the grandfather


of this translator and whose memory this event was specially
translated from the following book for the information of the
readers of the International Internet Libraries in the U.S.A.
especially for the readers of these two websites as
follows. www.calmeo.com and www.scribd.com 
     Upon this, it has happened that supervisor of Nobat Khana
after spending of the amount was reached to see the custodian
and he told him all details in this matter and he requested him to
forgive his mistake and he made loud and cry in this matter and
he requested him to allow him to join back in his post.
 It was learned later that the custodian of the shrine was kept
the supervisor at his residence in Hyderabad for a period of three
days. During that period the letters of the Estate Administrator
and the advocate was reaching for him. Upon this, he was given
the travel expenses from Hyderabad to Kazipet to the supervisor
of the Nobat Khana and was sent him from Hyderabad to
Kazipet and he was given the instruction to the estate
administrator which is as follows.
 “ That the supervisor was presented in his service and he
ashamed of his bad deed so he was forgiven his mistake in this
matter. So you also forgive him and allow him to join on his
duty. Otherwise, he is a poor person having small children with
him so they will become economically poor and will be
destroyed in this matter. Arrange the salary of Nobat Khana staff
members from another fund.”
 So after some days, the supervisor was coming back to
Qazipet from Hyderabad and he was allowed to join in his post
as per order the custodian of the shrine of Kazipet and the staff
members of the Nobat Khana was paid their salaries from the
other fund by the administrator of the estate. (Reference from

The review of my book Baba Tajuddin Nagpur

This is a valuable book with rare and interesting details from the
life of the amazing and one of the greatest Sufi Saints Tajuddin
Baba, who spent most of his life in Nagpur, in the pre
independent India.
I had come across the name of this Saint in the life history
of Shirdi Sai Baba written by Master E. Bharadvaja. It is
reported there that once Shirdi Baba confused his disciples by
mysteriously drumming on a water pot with his satka (a short
stick he used to carry with him). He explained his action by
saying, that he is extinguishing the fire which caught the hut of

Tajuddin Baba in Nagpur. Taj uddin Baba on the other hand


refused to accept a wealthy visitor called Bapu Saheb Buty as
his disciple. He asked him to seek his salvation from Shirdi
Baba. Both the saints were in communion with each other on the
spiritual plane!
Then I was fortunate enough to read the short biography of Taj
uddin Baba written by the same author Master Bharadvaja,
which impressed me immensely. The drawback of this short
although very valuable biography was that facts and details
mentioned in it are not complete or not explained in a logical
sequence. Which leads to a feeling of dissatisfaction. Still the
reader gets an idea of the overwhelming spiritual power and
universal love of Taj uddin. But it kindled my interest to know
more about this saint.
This made me always to be in search of a complete
biography of the saint with more details. As I by chance
discovered the Work of Mohammed Abdul Hafeez I was thrilled
and I ordered it immediately and am now a happy possessor of
this book.
Many important details from the life of this Sufi Saint,
which were like missing links, I could gather from this book:
1. About the ancestry of the saint.
2. His childhood and transition from the worldly life to that of
godliness; the important incidents which took place and
worked as catalysers on the way to his perfection.
3. His relation with the Maharaja of Nagpur and other
members of the aristocracy.

4. An exhaustive account of his relationship with the Hindu-


disciples and followers.
India is a country of spirituality. Many of its spiritual masters
have transcended the narrow limits of religion, preached and
practised universal humanism. It hardly mattered for them to
which religion their visitors belonged – they were helped
without any discrimination, because only their merit mattered
not their cast or creed.
Swami Veerabhrahmendra’s chief disciple was a Muslim
named Sayyed. Shirdi Baba lived in a mosque and was equally
worshipped by Muslims and Hindus likewise. Taj uddin Baba
was not different in this matter.
As Abdul Hafeez writes in this book about a Hindu-disciple,
Venkat Rao, who worked as a Railway guard. People observed
him sitting near Taj uddin, although he should have left that
place and left Nagpur in a train leaving for Bombay. His job
demanded this. But Venkat Rao does not leave that place,
because he is completely engrossed in the presence of the Baba.
To the surprise of the other people he was also seen at the same
time leaving in that train, which left for Bombay!
Western Occultism calls this phenomenon “bilocation” – a
miracle shown many times by Tajuddin Baba on account of his
supernatural powers. But the narration of Hafeez leaves one
question open: Did the Saint appear in the form of Venkat Rao
in the train? Or did he transfer this supernatural power to his
disciple so that he could appear at two places at the same time?
Spiritual masters are capable of doing both the things.

A very interesting part of this book is that it gives a glimpse


into the Muslim or Sufi occultism (see page 81) and tries to
explain how miracles happen. This theme requires to be
elaborated if the author is planning a second edition.

From the point of view of modern Indian history this book is


of immense importance. Yoga and mysticism have been not yet
fully recognised driving forces behind the Indian freedom
struggle.
The chapter called “Gandhi and Ali Brothers” depicts
Gandhis taking the audience of Taj uddin Baba and the Baba
making two predictions – one for Gandhi and another one for
the Ali Brothers. Both of them turn out to be true! I request the
author to elaborate this chapter with more details and photos if
possible. That would increase the value of this book
hundredfold!
There are certain short comings in regard to the language.
English is a foreign language. It is not always easy to chose the
right preposition or the helping verb. In spite of this the reader
sees the godly figure of the saint Taj uddin Baba shining behind
the linguistic barbed fence of a foreign language.
This is a book to be recommended for all those who are
interested in mysticism, universal love which overcomes the
narrow limits of religions and for the spiritual seekers.

In this book translation of episodes from the Urdu language


book, Aaina-e-Auliya is added which is written by Mumtaz
Mirza. This book has been translated by me into the English

language from the above old book and in which there are
available some great achievements of the Sufi saints of Sindh
Province, which are not yet known to the public are added in
this book and which are available in a very interesting style so,
for this reason, the readers will find great interest and attention
in this matter.
Due to the above facts and details, if the readers will start
reading its first page of the book and will not stop reading till
they will reach this book’s last page as some interesting events
and as well as other great miracles and endeavours of holy saints
are added in this book and these holy saints were passed away
from the world many centuries years ago.
Even though this is a small book but due to its importance it is
so great due to the coverage of many interesting events and
positive information so it is like an ocean of knowledge and
information of holy saints who were passed away from the
world upon doing their great endeavours and many hard tasks
for the preaching and propagation work of Islam so this book is
a small one but it will present the ocean of knowledge for the
guidance of people towards the right path of Islam.
At the beginning of this book, the translator’s brief biography
is added for the reader’s information and reference.
To write about these great pious personalities of the Sindh
Province is not only it is difficult, but it is a very hard task as
they did many great endeavours for the preaching and
propagation work of Islam in Sindh Province and there were no
such personalities during their time.
In this book, there are available biographies of holy Sufi
Saints of Sindh Province upon the authentic research basis. The
readers will find interest in reading this book due to the positive
information and great details of Sufi Saints in Sindh Province in

the olden days when there was no light of Islamic religion which
was not available at that time in the Sindh Province and around
this region.
This book is edited and formatted as per the great book
‘Muslim Saints and Mystics’ in the English version (Tadhkirtal
Auliya by Farid al-Din Attar) which is very famous in the
Western world among the English knowing persons. So for this
reason there will be some small differences in it while
comparing with the Urdu books and its literature. The aim of
this book is to present in the Western world where there are a
great search and demand of the books of Sufism and biographies
of holy saints who lived and spent their entire lives for the
preaching and propagation of Islamic religion in all corners of
the world as per tradition and practice of Allah’s last prophet.
Kindly note, I have added this English and Urdu books on
many international websites, and as these episodes are very
famous and popular among its Urdu readers due to their
importance for the coverage of the details of events and
information therein. But first, time these episodes are added into
the English language by me upon its translation and
interpretation and I hope that this book will become famous and
popular for this reason.

Preface of the Urdu edition

In this book, there are brief biographical details of perfect holy


persons who are added to this book and who belong to the great
Sufi chain of Naqshbandi in Sindh Province. And all these holy
people belong to the devotees and disciples of the great shrine of

the Lavari Sharif in the district Badeen. The founder of the


shrine building of Lavari Sharif was Hazrat Sultan Auliya Khaja
Mohammed Zaman and who was born in the year 1125 Hegira
and he has left this world in the year 1188 Hegira and his
mausoleum of light which is situated in Lavari Sharif and is 8
miles away from the district Badeen.
Hazrat Imam Rabbani Mujadid Alif Thani, who has written
in his book “Maktubat” that the Sufi chain of the Naqshbandi
which is compact on the Islamic Shariat law. The holy persons
of this great chain, comparing to other Sufi chains who did take
walk of their students with the state of command and for this
reason, in all Sufi chains, this Sufi order is most nearest. And for
this reason, other chains' end lies at the start of the great Sufi
chain of the Naqshbandi.The methods of these holy people
which is exactly the same as per great companions of the
prophet. Because in the first company of the holy prophet the
start of an end which is not possible for the perfect holy persons
even in the end-stage.
It is to know that this book’s Urdu translation was done by
the late Mumtaz Mirza. And afterward, Hazrat Pir Mohammed
Sadiq, who was the custodian of the shrine building of the
Lavari Sharif and who given the order for the reprint of this
book because there were required corrections of the mistakes as
well there are required must some addition in the book and
which were added. There is hope that Merciful Allah, may give
guidance to the readers of this book for the sake and the
intercession of the holy persons to follow their dear persons to
keep them on the great Sufi chain Naqshbandi.

Introduction

The founder of the Sufi chain of the Naqshbandi Hazrat


Bahauddin Mohammed Bin Ahmed Bukhari. 717-791 Hegira
and 1317-1389 A.D., and his title Naqshabnad which was
become famous because he used to give in writing the word
Allah to illiterate disciples and ask them to think over it. And to
his educated disciple he used to ask them to write by their hands
the name of Allah and see this painting by their eyes and think
of the personality of the Lord of Majesty and Bounty who fulfill
the wishes of all persons.
In the sub-continent of India and Pakistan, this Sufi chain
Naqshabandia started by Imam Rabbani Mujadad Alif Thani and

Hazrat Shaikh Ahmed Sarhindi. (970-1032 Hegira and 1562-


1625 A.D.). He was a great perfect and learned person of
Islamic law. And from his sons Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaki
Bin Khaja Mohammed Hanif Bin Khaja Abdul Ahad Bin Khaja
Mohammed Saeed Qazan Bin Imam Rabbani) from his sons
Sindh's great learned person Hazrat Khaja Abul Masakin Shaikh
Mohammed Quddus Bin Shaikh Mohammed Asharaf who has
learned knowledge from him. And his ancestor Maqdum Alam
Thatvi (1066 Hegira) who has obtained favour from his famous
son of Imam Rabbani Hazrat, Khaja Arwatal Wasqi Mohammed
Masum Sarhindi (1007-1079 Hegira) and has laid down the
foundation of the way of the Sufi chain of Naqshbandi. In this
way, in Sindh, the favours of the Naqshbandi chain get started
directly in the light of intimate knowledge of God and thinking
of Hazrat Imam Rabbani. Among all these holy persons the
founder of the shrine building of the Lavari Sharif is Hazrat
Sultan Auliya Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman and due to his
favour there was established the foundation of the great Sufi
chain of Naqshbandi in the Sindh area. And out of the area of
Sindh due to his caliph Hazrat Maqdum Auliya Hazrat Qazi Haji
Ahmed and by his source in the Eastern Panjab by Hazrat Haji
Shah Hussain who has developed this chain there. And by his
endeavours this chain is still there is found and continued.
Aaina Auliya: This is basically written in the Persian
language. And which was found in the handwritten manuscript.
And who is the author of this book? And which is still a matter
of research?. But this book which is written during the time of
Hazrat Ghouse Alam Khaja Mohammed Zaman Thani. In Sindh,
this book was published in the year 1974 by the managing
committee of the Lavari Sharif shrine. And now this book’s
Urdu edition is published by the Dada Bhai foundation.

Sultan of Auliya Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman Maqulat
Tasuf and which based on his sayings. And also it was published
a translation of his book Sindhi Abiat and which was appreciated
in the width and length of the country as well as in the
knowledge and literature circles. And this book is also part of
this series.

Mumtaz Mirza

1.Hazrat Khaja Abul Masakin Qudsarhu

His name is Mohammed. And he was the son of Khaja Ashraf


(1) and he was the grandson of Hazrat Maqdum Adam (2) and
on his ring, it was engraved the following details as follows.
“Mohammed Ashraf is the son of Adam.” It means Hazrat
Maqdum is a son of Hazrat Adam. And Mohammed, who was a
noble and excellent person and he was having the most gentle
and merciful nature. So for this reason the people of Arabia
called him with the patronymic name of Abul Masakin. He used
to distribute dresses to poor persons. And his peer of the

manifest who was Abdul Qasim. (3). But in an innermost he has


obtained favour from his ancestors as per the method of
Owasia. (4).

1. Khaja Mohammed Ashraf Bin Adam after the death of his
father in the year 1066 Hegira who was becoming a person of
guidance.
2. Maqdum Adam Thatavi well known as Maqdum Adu, who
was a Sindh province’s first personality who has laid down the
foundation of the Sufi order of Naqshbandi. He was obtained
favour from the famous son of Hazrat Imam Ahmed Mujadid
Alif Thani and his name was Hazrat Khaja Arwatal Wasqi
Mohammed Masum Sarhindi and who was born on 10th
Shawwal in the year 1007 Hegira and he died on 9th Rabbil
Awwal in the year 1079 Hegira. And on his order, he laid the
foundation of the shrine building upon his return to Thata. His
personality was a perfect personality and individuality. He was
the perfect, holy person of the Naqshbandi Sufi order in the
Sindh province. And his year of death is 1066 Hegira and he
was buried in the historical graveyard of Thatta city.
3. Hazrat Abul Qasim and his title was Noor Al-Haq Sahib
Naqshbandi Bin Daras Ibrahim Trail Thatta upon memorization
of the Holy Quran and after obtaining the knowledge of the
manifest he went in the company of the Thatta’s famous perfect
Arif Maqdum Adam and he was passed the stages of mysticism.
In the beginning period, his father Daras Ibrahim as per the
saying of Tuhfatal Karam who was a devotee of Hazrat
Bahauddin Zakaria Multani. But in the company of Hazrat
Maqdum, Hazrat Abul Qasim returned and followed
Naqshbandi way. Upon seeing his skill and ability, Hazrat Adam
has given him the order to go in the company of Hazrat Shah

Saifuddin (birth 1049 Hegira and death on 19th Jamad Thani in


the year 1095 Hegira) Bin Arwa Wasqi Khaja Masum
completed the remaining stages. Abul Qasim has reached
Sirhind from Sindh. Shah Saifuddin who was becoming very
kind to him due to his knowledge. He has increased his
knowledge of manifest as well as knowledge of the innermost
and excellence. And after this, he came one time for Thatta, and
then occasionally he used to go Sirhind from Sindh. At the last
time, Shah Saifuddin has given him an order to go to Sindh and
give propagation of the school of the thought of the Naqshbandi
Sufi chain. Maqdum Abul Qasim who, did not know about his
power of innermost as well as spiritual. So he told him that
“Hazrat I am a poor person who will hear him?.” Upon Shah,
Saifuddin told him that “There is one stone lying and so you pay
attention to it.” Still, he was paying his attention then the stone
was broken into many pieces. There is another tradition is that
there was started discharge of water from the stone. Upon this, it
was said to him that “There is such hidden power in you so why
there is a delay in this matter.” After Maqdum Abul Qasim has
reached back to Thatta and about his knowledge and excellence
which become famous in such a way that the learned persons
and as well persons of excellence who were becoming his
disciples.The fame of his favour which has reached the
subcontinent. And Delhi's one rich person Mohammed Siddiq
who lived in his company. And he died in Thatta. There were his
caliphs in Surat and Ahmedabad. During that period, if any
person visits Sirhind for the completion of the stages of the
mystic way then he will be given the order to go Thatta.
Maqdum Abul Qasim's many miracles and stories and his
favours which were compiled by Sindh's great learned person
Allama Maqdum Moin Thattvi Bin Maqdum Mohammed Amin

Bin Maqdum Taleb Allah Lakha Dal (death 1161 Hegira) who
has written in another magazine and he has died on the 7th
Shaban in the 1138 Hegira. On the mountain of Makli on the
tablet of his grave this couplet is engraved there in Persian and
its translation and interpretation is as follows.
Regarding the year of death caller who said
Abul Qasim, who is light of secret of God
The year 1138 Hegira.
Hazrat Owais Qarni belongs to the Qarn tribe of Yemen. And
he has accepted Islam without seeing the prophet. So for this
reason one who follows his method is called Owaisi. And its aim
is that darwesh or student without any spiritual master in the
manifest who follows the way of the guidance.
5. Khaja Mohammed Zaki Allah bin Khaja Mohammed Haneef
Bin Khaja Abdul Ahd Bin Qazan bin Khaja Mohammed Saeed
bin Shaikh Ahmed Mujadid Alif Thani.
6. It is the city and which is the oldest city in the Hyderabad
division in Sindh province and when its foundation stone was
laid for which historian and research scholars who are not
agreed. Pakistan’s famous research scholar and historian and
sagacious Dr. Nabi Baksh Khan Baluch’s opinion are that its
city's oldness is equal to Multan city. In this matter he has
quoted one couplet of the folk song is as follows.

When was the laying of the foundation of Thatta and Multan


That time she was collecting the earth along with her 100
friends.

By this writing, it is known that the foundation of this city


Thatta was laid before the year 671 Hegira. And fame of this
city’s beauty and greenery which reached in India and India’s

great poet Amir Khusro (651-725 Hegira/1255-1326 A.D.) At


his age of 16 or 19, he has written one couplet about Thatta city
in Persian.
Thatta city which was established in the middle period of the
14th to the 18th century and it's Sindh's very important historical
as well as it was an important commercial city of the
subcontinent. With Multan, Lahore, Agra, and Ahmedabad
Thatta have commercial relations. As per historical record, it
was the capital of the rulers of Sumeru, Sama Argan, Turqan,
Mughal, Kalhuada. As per the religion, knowledge, dictionary,
and political, it was an important city. Here in this city, there
were a total of 400 educational institutions including big and
small schools. Among them, some were at the level of the
university and some were at the college level. And in the many
thousand students who are educated and used to get as well as
training. This city was constructed on the river Sindh and which
caused its downfall. One Persian poet Mazhar Shah Qari who
was the court poet of Sultan Feroz Shah Delhi (1351-1388 A.D.)
and who said poetry about the court of the sultan. That river has
changed its direction then it has become the cause of the
downfall of this city Thatta. And from 1851 A.D., its downfall
started and the population of city people of 280000 has become
reduced to a city of 5000 people after its downfall. The city of
historical and archaeology value and which is the headquarter
of the district. The historical remains of Khaniger and Haligi are
in this district. In Makli’s graves, there are buried many
thousand learned persons, wealthy persons, rulers as well as
brave persons. Which are the signs of this historical city‘s
greatness.
7.Shaikh Mohammed Ibrahim bin Maqdum Abul Qasim
Naqshbandi, Who was the most capable and reliable son of his

father. But Maqdum Abul Qasim Naqshbandi has given his


caliphate and guidance’s permission to Khaja Abul Maskin
instead of his son. In this matter research scholar and learned
person of the Sindhi language Shams Ulema (Sun of the learned
persons) and Dr.Umar Bin Mohammed Dawud Pota who has
written that “When he was going to die then at that time there
was the willingness of the disciples of the shaikh that he should
surrender his entrusted things to his son only. But Shaikh Abul
Qasim did not accept this matter. And for many times he was
asked about Abul Maskin and who was not there as he has gone
outside to attend some work. At the time of his death Shaikh
Abul Qasim, who told his disciples “When Abul Maskin will
come back, then bring him upon my grave.”When Khaja Saheb
comes back then he has gone to the grave of his spiritual master
and he has got the spiritual entrusted things there.
8.This is the old city of the subcontinent and which is now
available in the province of Panjab in India. In the olden days,
this city was the headquarters of district Satlaj. The Chinese
traveler Hsuan Tsang (Hsuan-tsang sometimes transcribed Xuan
Tsang or Xuanzang) was a Chinese Buddhist monk who in 627
AD traveled overland from China to India to obtain Buddhist
scriptures. He returned to China in 643, bringing with him
precious manuscripts that he then translated to Chinese.) who
has mentioned this city and has written that around this city
there was found gold. And this is the reality that in the north side
of Sirhind and in the hills in which there flow small
distributaries (a branch of a river that does not return to the
mainstream after leaving it ) of the Sutlej river and in its sand
still gold is found there. In Hindi, the tiger is called Sah and the
jungle is called rand. In this area, there is heavy rainfall. And it
is exactly possible that before habitation here was found jungles.

And in which there may be found the tiger and other wild
animals there. So perhaps, for this reason, this city is called
Sahrind. During the days of the conquest of Mahmood Ghazni, it
was a well-known village. As it was a border place between
Hindus and country of the Ghazni people. And ahead of it, there
is started India territory. So, for this reason, it is called Sarhind
and its meaning is the head of India and with this name, it has
become famous. Maqdum Syed Jalaluddin Surq Bukhari (1308-
1382 A.D.) who was the spiritual master of Sultan Feroz Shah
Dehlavi. And as per his order Sultan Feroz Shah, who has
constructed one fort there and its foundation which was laid in
the year 1358 A.D.In the new city, houses were built with Pucca
bricks. In the rainy season, one brook and its name is Chua,
which covered this place. And which is passed by the bridge.
There was end of the distance between ruins places of the old
city and habitation of the new city due to the extension of the
new city’s habitation. In the archeological heritage, there is one
beautiful building that is there and which is known as the
mausoleum of Hazrat Mujjadid Alif Thani. (Death 1623 A.D.)
And which was constructed during the rule of King Shah Jehan.
And his annual death anniversary is celebrated every year on the
27th of Safar month. This holy personality which was given
perpetual fame and name to this city.
9. Khaja Mohammed Zubair was a great holy person of his time
and Qutub (a Qutb is the perfect human being, al-Insān (The
Universal Man), who leads the saintly hierarchy. The Qutb is the
Sufi spiritual leader that has a divine connection with God and
passes knowledge on which makes him central to, or the axis of,
Sufism) of guidance and person of revelation as well a person of
miracles. And his name was Mohammed Zubair and his
patronymic name is Abul Barkat and his fathers’ name is Shaikh

Abul Ali and his grandfather’s name is Hazrat Khaja Hujaat


Allah Naqshbandi. And who was his disciple and caliph. And
his date of birth is 1053 Hegira and the date of death is 4th Zil
Hajj 1152 Hegira year. And the chronogram date of death of
Mushtaq Mohammed Zubair is 1152 Hegira year.
Khaja Zubair who was the son of (10) Khaja Abu Ali and who
the grandson of Hazrat Hujjatal Allah Naqshbandi (11). Khaja
Mohammed Zubair who was excellent among the sons of Hazrat
Arwa Waqi. And he was sitting on the throne of command and
advice in Delhi. His position and status was as such that even
the rulers who used to visit him by walking in his service. One
day Khaja Abul Masakin who was in his service and at that time
the king was passed from the shrine building. The people living
in nearby areas who went on the walls of the shrine building and
have seen the king’s royal sight. There was created a wish
among the darwesh persons of the shrine and upon feeling the
desire of the darwesh persons Khaja Mohammed Zubair told
them that “Those who want to watch royal convenience of the
king so they can go and see it.”

10.Hazrat Abu Ali Bin Hazrat Qayum Salis Khaja Mohammed
Naqshaband Bin Arwa Wasqi Khaja Mohammed Masum was
born in the year 1064 hegira. He was a person of revelation and
miracles and he died in the year 1107 Hegira year and he was
buried in the tomb of Hazrat Arwa Wasqi. Hazrat Salis Khaja
Mohammed Naqshabandi who was the son of Hazrat Khaja
Mohammed Masum. He died on Friday on the 7th Ramadan in
the year 1034 Hegira. On the 11th Rabbil Awwal in the year
1079 Hegira, he sat on the throne of advice. He was sitting on
the throne of advice for a period of 35 years and then he has died
in Sirhind. He was buried in his own house which is near Fatah

Bagh. On his grave, there was constructed one very beautiful


mausoleum and in which his son Mohammed Umar and his
daughter and wife were also buried.
(11). His name was Hujjat Allah and his title was Naqshabandi.
He got the saintly dress from his father Shaikh Mohammed
Masum. He was unique in the knowledge of the manifest and
innermost. In indigence, mysticism, and piety he was very
strong and his foot was very firm. And his mausoleum is
situated in Sirhind.
Khaja Zubair upon seeing him and told him “ You are living
in Sindh (12) and before this you have not seen convenience by
the king. If you want then you go and see it.”Khaja Mohammed
told him that “I came in the presence of such king and in whose
presence he is sitting and other than him I have not to desire or
wish.” Khaja Abul Masakin who said that “He was much
happier upon hearing my reply. And he has paid much attention
to me that
“If I was engaged in the worship and mystical exercise for a
period of 12 years, then could not get such position and status as
well as mystic knowledge due to no look of knowledge of the
Shaikh. And also he has given me his caliphate.”
Sheikhs of time and as well as the learned persons of the
period who began to return towards Hazrat Khaja Abul Masakin.
The news of holiness began reaching every corner of the world.
The Sultan of Delhi who was his invisible devotee and has sent
his letter by the authorized secretary in his presence and
requested him to accept Rupees ten as daily expenses for the
public kitchen. He was taken that letter and has kept it on one of
the place and due to content of his heart till the end of life did
not pay any attention to that letter.

His public kitchen house was running like royal style.In


which there will be prepared all kinds of meals and food dishes
to darwesh persons. He used to wear always royal dresses. And
every week he used to wear new clothes by him and he used to
distribute his used clothes to the darwesh persons.

12). Pakistan’s Southeastern province is in the area of the delta
of river Sindh. And this river is the life of the vein. From this
river’s old name Sindhu word Sindh was derived from it. As per
civilization and cultural basis this area Kot Degi (district
Khairpur) Moinju Dadu (district Ladkana), Amir (district Dadu)
which is the center of old civilization and which are 5,000 years
old. Here Sindhi is the language of the majority of the people.
From the angle of knowledge and literature in this land famous
and great learning as well as people of excellence, research
scholars, historians, poets, and writers were born there. It is a
miracle of the holy persons that the people of this place have
accepted the direct effects of the Islamic values. And recognized
the truth of their hearts.

There is a tradition that Khaja Sahib usually read book


Makatib and Maraf Majjaddi. (13). There came doubt to
Mavlavi Mohammed Hashim (14) that it is a book of amulets
and from which he

13). Hazrat Mujadid Alif Thani’s written book in the Persian
language causing great diversity opinion but some letters are in
the Arabic language. The total number of letters is 536. And
every letter is like a permanent magazine and these letters he
was writing to his spiritual master Hazrat Khaja Baqi Billah,
caliph persons, disciples, members of the kingdom which he has

written by him occasionally. These letters are found in three


books and details are as follows.
A.First book :In which there are 313 letters are there. And this
book was compiled as per his wish by his caliph Moulana Yar
Mohammed Jadid Bakshi in the year 1025 Hegira. This book’s
historic name is Daral Marafat.
B.Second book : Which was compiled by his caliph Moulana
Abdul Hai Hisari Shadmani as per the saying of Hazrat Khaja
Masum in the year 1028 Hegira. This book is known with the
historic name of Noor Khaliq.
C.Third book : This book was compiled by his caliph Hazrat
Moulana Hashim Kashmi in the year 1031 Hegira by living in
his company. And in this book, there are 114 letters in it. And its
historic name is Marafal Haqaiq.
The details of books written by Hazrat Mujadad Alif Thani’s
are as follows.
A.Asbat Nabva (Arabic) and probable this is his first written
book and which is written in the year 990 or 991 Hegira during
his stay in Agra.
B.Radrufaz (Persian)
C.Resla Tahliya (Arabic). This is magazine belongs to
knowledge and as well research and which he has compiled in
the year 1010 Hegira.
D. Sharah Rubiat: This is the exegesis of the Rubiat ( quatrains)
of the Hazrat Khaja Baqi Billah. And which he has written in the
year 1313 Hegira.
H.Mubda Wa Madad: This is a Persian magazine of Majadid
Alif Thani’s fields of knowledge and learning. And which was
compiled by his caliph Moulana Mohammed Siddiq Kashmi in
the year 1019 Hegira.

J.Makashaft Aaina: This collection based on such manuscripts


of Hazrat Mujadid Alif Thani which he has written to his
disciples and which were preserved by his caliphs. And which
were compiled by his caliph Moulana Mohammed Hashim
Kashmi in the year 1051 Hegira.

used to get the attention of the people toward him. So he has


started his try to obtain that book for any pretext from him. By
acting on any act which is written in the book who can get his
lost status in this way. Afterward, he has obtained that book
from some person from him. When Khaja Abul Masakin was
able to know the intention of Mavlavi Mohammed Hashim then
he said that “ We have given this book to him. No doubt this
will remain with him.” Subhan Allah (God be praised) the
guidance is within the control of Allah. As a matter of fact,
Mavlavi Saheb never paid look of the reality and justice towards
Khaja Saheb.”
It is written in the books that when Khaja Sahib he has shown
urgency toward the journey to Makkah so some companions
who have asked the reason for his travel in urgency. In this
matter, he replied that “Noor Mohammed Abbasi (15) has a
devotion with him and upon him, there is going to fall some
difficulty.

14). Mavlavi Mohammed Hashim Thatavi was born on 10th
Rabbil Awwal in the year 1104 Hegira and he died on 6th Rajab
in the year 1174 Hegira. And he was buried in the graveyard of
Makli and his many books are in Arabic, Persian and in Sindhi
are available. His mausoleum is at the foot side of the tomb of
Hazrat Abul Qasim Naqshabandi in Makli in Thatta.

15). Miya Noor Mohammed Kalhuda Ibn Miya Yar Mohammed


Kalhuda on 11 Muharram in the year 1132 Hegira
corresponding to 13th November 1719 and later who has
become the ruler of the Sindh. From an administrative point of
the view Miya Yar Mohammed who was a great personality.
Even though his rule period, which was a time of disturbance.
In spite of that, there is no effect on his farsightedness and
practical power. He was exemplary in his bravery. He has
reorganized the irrigation system all over the Sindh province. In
agriculture his endavours and efforts which were incomparable.
It is a fact that during his period of rule the agriculture system
which in its development. Miya Mohammed Noor Kalhuda who
was the first ruler of the Sindh and due to his insight of politics,
there was established boundaries of the present-day Sindh
otherwise Sindh would have divided into many parts by way of
political and administrative basis. On the 12th Safar in the year
1167 Hegira corresponding to 1753 in the State of Jalsamar at
one place of Sarkar Kohara he has died there. And from where
his dead body was brought to Sindh and he was buried in
Mohammedabad in Taluk Mauro in the district Nav Shahar and
Feroz.

So, for this reason, it is must be required for us to go there from
here. Because of the writing of the fate which can not be
possible to be changed. If we will live here then he will request
with us. Then his wish will not be fulfilled and then he will have
a bad devotion to us. And for this reason, there will be chances
of damage to his other world. In this matter, there is mention of
the difficulty which is about the attack of the Sultan Nader Shan
in the province of the Sindh. (16) and which was a great tragedy
of the history of the Sindh Province.

Hazrat Khaja Abul Masakin who has come back with his
family members upon the performance of the Hajj pilgrimage in
Makkah

16). Nader Shah Durrani (rule period 1734-1747 A.D.) was an
Irani conqueror and who born in one village of Khurasan. And
his father was a shepherd and used to graze the sheeps and he
has spent a period of four years of his youth in the slavery of the
Uzbek people. He was fleeing from Khiwa and he has become
an employee of Ali Baig Afshar. Afshar upon watching his
bravery and faithfulness has married his daughter with him. And
he has become governor of Abuwar upon the death of Afshar.
But after some period of time, he was removed from the post of
the governor by the ruler of the Mashad Malak Mahmood Shah.
And after that Nadir Shah, who was become a looter and began
the activities of the looting and dacoits. And his basic intention
in this matter was to establish his kingdom. And for this reason,
for obtaining his aim, he was always engaged in his endeavours.
Slowly he has organized his troops. And first, he was conquered
Neshapur, and then he was occupied Mashad city. And Malik
Mahmood was killed. Shah Tamaship who has appointed Nader
Shah as commander in chief of the army. After defeating
Afghans and Turks in different wars he was declared his
kingdom at the age of 46 years and after 3 years he was gone on
the eastern side. And after conquering Ghazni in the year 1739
A.D., he was attacked in India. And he was defeated Sultan
Mohammed Shan in the Karnal field. And he was entered in
Delhi on 31 March in the year 1739 A.D. Approximately he was
in Delhi city for a period of two months and during this period
he was killed, 2000 people. Nadir Shah attacked the Sindh
province during the ruling period of the Sultan of Kalhuda Miya

Noor Mohammed Kalhuda in the year 1745 A.D., and he has


destroyed and ruined all the areas. And many libraries he was
destroyed by fire by him. At last, there was a peace treaty by
ruler Noor Mohammed Kalhuda and Nadir Shah returned back
from there. One fakir person has given him the title of “Dar
Dauran” and which due to much use has become Durrani. Nadir
Shah killed by the people of the Afshar tribe in his tent.

To Sindh. There was his stay of approximately 15 or 20 days.
He has said that “We have come back for giving especially
information about the way of the mysticism to Shaikh
Mohammed Zaman. Because these matters are not for writing as
well as not to send in the shape messages. And this is mentioned
as follows in Persian couplet and its translation and
interpretation as follows.

There are secrets in between the beloved and his lover


That even the angles Kiraman and Katibeen did not know

In short one more time he has gone towards the Arabian


country and has passed his remaining life in Makkah city with
bravery and generosity and he has left this mortal world in the
plain of Arafat on the day of Arafah. It is the second day of the
Hajj pilgrimage) on the 9th Zil Hajj in the year 1149 Hegira and
his true disciples who have buried him in Jannat Moula (Jannat
Al-Mualla is the renowned cemetery in Makkah that has the
graves of eminent individuals from Islamic history including the
wife of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) Hazrat Bibi Khudja
(R.A.) and His (P.B.U.H) two sons, companions, scholars, and
other righteous individuals.).

2. Hazrat Moulana Abdul Salam

Moulana Abdul Salam Abdal (1) who used to perform Fajar


prayer in Bhoj and he will have lunch at the time of afternoon in
Lavari Sharif. In the afternoon after taking some rest, then he
will perform Zuhar prayer in Badeen and the Asar prayer in
Joon village. Where he has a house there and from there he will
come to Lavari Sharif and will perform the Maghrib prayer.
Then he will go back to Bhoj and where he will perform Eisha
prayer.

1.He was the grandfather of Sultan Auliya Khaja Mohammed
Zaman. And he belonged to the Daras tribe. In piousness and
superiority, he was most perfect and in knowledge and intimate
of knowledge of God and he was recognized as respectable and
honorable.

3. Sultan Auliya Khaja Mohammed Zaman

He was born on 21 Ramadan in the year 1125 Hegira. His


grandfather’s name was Shaikh Abdul Salam. The year of his
birth is found from the following verse of the Holy Quran.

‫انه من عبادنا المخلصين‬


There is no doubt he is one of our loyal servants . (1). Some
mystic persons of insight have given information to Shaikh

Abdul Latif about his arrival in advance like about information


of glad tiding of the Prophet Mohammed’s arrival in the world
which was given by Prophet Eisa (A.S.). So for this reason when
there will be born in the house any son then he will carefully
look and think that where he may be such son for which there
was given the glad tiding in advance in this matter. When he

1.Shaikh Haji Abdul Latif Naqshabandi Bin Shaikh Tayyeb Bin
Shaikh Ibrahim Bin Shaikh Abdul Latif Kalan and who is
remembered generally as title of the Shaikh Haji. He was a very
pious, generous, and kind person. He has memorized the
complete holy book of the Quran. During the month of
Ramadan, he used to be engaged in the reading of the Holy
Quran. He was exemplary in the knowledge of the manifest and
innermost. And he was like a river of knowledge of God. He
was friends of the darwesh persons and he was always looking
for the host persons in his house. Before he used to live in the
old Lavari Sharif. But in childhood, he went to Thatta for
obtaining knowledge and where he has a pledge on the hands of
Hazrat Shaikh Faiz Allah Bin Maqdum Adam Naqshabandi.
And he has left his old system of the Sufi order of Suherwardia
and adopted the system of the Sufi order of Naqshabandia. Upon
the death of Hazrat Shaikh Faiz Allah then he has spent in the
company of Shaikh Abul Qasim and he has got favour from him
and who was the caliph of Maqdum Adam. There was not found
correct year of his death in any books. And by guess, it is said he
died in the year 1149 Hegira. He was buried in the old Lavari
Sharif.

born and then there was faith in his father that this such
fortunate son for him so there was the waiting eagerly by him.
And he has started his nourishment with much love. In the
books, it was written that during his childhood days he was
playing with other boys then at that time one darwesh person
who was passed from there. As soon as his look falls on his
forehead then he was able to know that he is a person of
wisdom. So then he began looking for the darwesh. As such that
there was passed time of noon for his eating meal time. One
slave girl came out of the mansion and she began calling him.
But he was very engaged in the playing that he could not pay
attention to the call of the slave girl. Upon this slave girl has
called him much harder. Upon this darwesh person who was
standing there has scolded the slave girl and he told her that “Oh
slave girl, this innocent boy did not have like such hardness.
You all people should live and like as per the willingness and
follow the boy. As there is a special look of favour of Allah
upon him. And he was declared and accepted as beloved. The
translation and interpretation of the following Persian couplet
are as follows
‫این طفل تو گرچه کود ک خود بد ست‬
‫هر دوعا لم خود طفیل اوبد ست‬

“Even though by seeing this boy is like similar to other boys but
there is the dependence of both worlds upon him.”
In short Hazrat Khaja Kalan went from there to Thatta Sharif.
And where he has begun a study in the school of (2) Mavlavi
Mohammed Sadiq. And from there he went in the company of
a peer with the pure heart

2).He was a person of knowledge and a person of excellence in


the 12th century. He was the son in law of Hazrat Maqdum
Mohammed Ashraf Naqshabandi Bin Maqdum Adam well
known as Adu Thatavi. His son Hussain known as Shaikh Abul
Hasan Saqir Madni Sindhi Muhadith who was migrated to
Madina from Thatta and he was settled down there and where he
has given benefits of the knowledge of Hadith (Hadith, Arabic
Ḥadīth (“News” or “Story”), also spelled Hadīt, the record of the
traditions or sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, revered and
received as a major source of religious law and moral guidance,
second only to the authority of the Qurʾān, the holy book of
Islam.) to Persian and Arabian countries. In the book Maqamat
Shura it is mentioned that “ Miya Mohammed Sadiq Naqshbandi
and who comprehensive of skills and who was perfect in the
knowledge of the manifest and innermost. And he was a disciple
of Qutub (Qutb, Qutub, Kutb, Kutub, or Kotb (Arabic: ‫)قطب‬,
means 'axis', 'pivot' or 'pole'. Qutb can refer to celestial
movements and used as an astronomical term or a spiritual
symbol. In Sufism, a Qutb is the perfect human being, al-Insān
al-Kāmil (The Universal Man), who leads the saintly hierarchy.)

who has left the world Syed Abdul Karim Sahib of the Baladly
village.”

favour Hazrat Sultan Auliya which was continued for a period of
six months. After six months Khaja Abul Masakin has given
him a permission letter in Persian for Irshad (showing the path
of righteousness) by his own writing as follows and its meaning
and interpretation are as follows.

“He accompanied the poor, accompanied him in abundance.”


“‫صحب مع المسكىن صحبته كثره‬

There was one school where Sultan Auliya Khaja Zaman
Auliya has studied. Maqdum Mohammed Sadiq, who was a poet
also and one couplet which was written by him is as follows and
its translation and interpretation as follows.
‫نیست دراینه کثره را وجود‬
‫از صفا عی دل شود حا صل شهود‬
There is not much in this mirror
The heart becomes the intuition
He was taken out the date of death of Hazrat Shah Habeeb
who was the father of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhattai and its
translation and interpretation are as follows.

‫الموت جسر یوصل الحبیب الی للقا ع الحبیب‬

“Death is such a bridge that sends Al-Habib (friend) to meet Al-


Habib (friend).”

His tomb is near the mausoleum of Hazrat Adam


Naqshabandi.
1. The translation of an interpretation of the full text of the
permission letter is as follows.
“It means Shaikh Mohammed says that in the way of Allah,
brother Mohammed Zaman has entered the circle of the
disciples and has spent much time in the friendship of this poor
person. And I have given him  the permission showing the path
of righteousness  of the mystic way on this condition that he

should follow in the way of Islamic law as well as on the mystic


way.”
Upon this Khaja Abul Masakin has put his holy turban on
his head. And sat him on his throne of teaching and set right his
foot wears there and he has told his disciples that while giving
his hands that “ Your good deeds may live with you. And say to
Allah to forgive for the sake of his mistakes.”
“Aulaik yad allahu saiyatuhum hasanat.”
It means “ This is such person for which his mistakes Allah
turn into good deeds.”
In Lavari Sharif (4) his year of sitting on the throne is as per
Abjad (Arabic alphabet according to the Hebrew order of letters)
calculation it is coming from the following verse.
“Enna Haza Al Malak Kareem.”
(No doubt he is from the angels.)
Hazrat Abul Masakin has given him work of the showing the
path of righteousness and as well as giving the training of the
students of the reality.

Have a pledge with him. And one who will not pledge on his
hands then he is not my disciple.” Khaja Mohammed Zamani
said that “Among old shaikhs, nobody did give such kind of
permission that during their life and they did not allow to sit one
of the disciples on the throne for showing the path of
righteousness and instructed all his disciples to have pledged on
his hands.”
4). There is mention of Lavari Sharif here. And which is located
away from the present habitation of Lavri Sharif at some
distance from Badeen district. Where the father of Sultan
Auliya, Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman Siddiqui resided there.

And where Sultan Auliya was born. When Hazrat Khaja Zaman
came there from Thatta

Then he began all his time in the room in the engagement of


worship and mystical exercises. And on Fridays, he used to
come out of the room. Sometimes he used to visit the graves of
shaikh persons. One day he took with him Sultan Auliya and has
come back after visit Makli and at that time he his look was
fallen on one stone. Khaja Abul Masakin told Hazrat Sultan
Auliya to lift that stone. And after rubbing the stone with a
saddle which changed into gold. Then he told Hazrat Abul
Masakin that “This stone is Paras (philosopher's touchstone)
and keep it safe with you. It may be useful at any time .”

Then he came to old Lavari Sharif and at that time his father left
the work of spiritual guidance as a profession and set him on the
throne showing the path of righteous guidance. During that time
the southern river was dried up. And the earth has become with
salinity and water wells have become salty. The people began
slowly leaving Lavari Sharif. But Sultan Auliya did not migrate
from old Lavari Sharif by that time and till that time his father
was living. Shaikh Abdul Latif left this mortal world in the year
1149 Hegira/1737.One year after this his grandfather, Hazrat
Abdul Salam Daras laid the foundation stone in the land of
Abdal for the new Lavari Sharif in the year 1150 Hegira/1737
and during that year he has sat on throne the showing the path of
righteousness. The new Lavari Sharif is such a center of the Sufi
chain of Naqshbandia from here, there was favour not only
spread in Sindh but it has reached favour in different places of
all over the subcontinent. The foundation of this holy and

reliable habitation which was laid down by the hands of the


Sultan Auliya.This miracle of his favour that till today there is
the sanctity of this place among all people all over Sindh
province.
The chain of the construction of Lavari Sharif is very lengthy.
Sultan Auliya has constructed one mansion for his family
members and shrine for darwesh persons and one mosque. And
for himself, he has constructed one separate room. That room
has become his last resting place. And on this room, his son
Mahboob Samad Khaja Gul Mohammed constructed the tomb.
In the present tomb the following custodians of Lavari Sharif are
buried and the details as follows.
1.Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman known as Sultan Auliya (21
Ramadan 1125 Hegira/1713 , Zeqad 1188 Hegira/1774.
2.Hazrat Khaja Gul Mohammed known as Hazrat Mahboob
Samad (11th Rabbil Awwal 1177 Hegira/1763 , 27 Rabbil Akhir
1218 Hegira/1803)
3.Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman Thani known as Saheb
Hasar (Ramadan 1199 Hegira/1784, 17 Safar 1247
Hegira/1831).
4.Hazrat Khaja Ahmed Zaman known as Imam Arifin 16th Zil
Hajj 1297 Hegira/first Rajjab 1357 Hegira).
5. Hazrat Khaja Gul Hasan known as Peer Badsha (13 Shaban
1327 Hegira/27th Ziqad 1420 Hegira).
As per tradition Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-Samad Gul
Mohammed, who has introduced the flag of the group of Lavari
Sharif named it “Kul” and for this reason, he is called ‘Saheb
Lava” and that flag is still found in Lavari Sharif. During the
time of Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman Thani Ghouse Alam
person of Hisar’s period of custodianship Ahmed Shah Abdali’s
grandson Shah Shuja who attacked Sindh. And he has looted in

all over areas of the Sindh province. The people have left the
houses of their ancestors and went to safe and secure places.
Hazrat Ghouse Alam on this occasion who has migrated from
Lavari Sharif. And he was settled down in the nearby place. The
army of Shah Shuja, who have looted very much in the area of
Lavari Sharif. And they have taken away lots of the goods and
money with them from Sindh. When there was established peace
in Sindh province, then Hazrat Ghouse Alam who has come
back to his native place. And upon this event, he has decided to
construct his mansion building for himself and tomb and living
for the darwesh persons decided the construction of the one fort.

Hazrat Sultan Auliya told him with much respect that “Your
honour this stone which is not required by me .”Then Khaja
Sahib told me that “I do not need such thing with me .” Then
Hazrat Sultan Auliya in his reply said that “ As such thing which
is not required with you and for which there is no requirement to
us .” Then he has thrown that stone in one water tank on the
way.
There is a tradition that Hazrat Khaja Abul Masakin when he
was going to Makkah then he has called all respectable and wise
persons of the city and has given advise them “ To keep this
young man (Hazrat Sultan Auliya) in agreeable and happy
condition by all means because habitation of the city which
depend upon this lucky persons’ existence and willingness. If he
will leave this city for any reason then there will be a fall in the
problems of the mountains.”
After this Sultan Auliya who has lived for some time in
Thatta but due to the enmity of Mavlavi Mohammed Hashim he
has returned back to his original native place of old Lavari

Sharif. The reason for the enmity of Mavlavi Mohammed


Hashim with Hazrat Sultan Auliya was that he was special to the
trusted person of the Hazrat Abul Msasakin.
Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi said that “ During this period
Mavlavi Mohammed Hashim, who was compiling the story of
Prophet Moosa (A.S.) and Pharaoh in the Sindhi language. But
he did not know that Allah has involved him in this dispute. So
he did not recognize the Moosa of the time. It is said that at the
time of burying in the grave he was in much trouble. But
afterward, he was forgiven for some reason. For people with
pure heart, some have seen that spiritualism of Hafiz Abul
Qasim which has freed him from the grip because he was buried
near his place.
When Hazrat Khaja Buzrug has arrived in the old Lavari area
and he was there in his company till the life of his father Shaikh
Abdul Latif. But after the death of the shaikh due to becoming
of the land as salinity and there was started discharge of water
from the earth. So for this reason Sultan Auliya migrated from
there. And at the present place, he has laid the foundation stone
of the new city. And its name was given as Lavari. And here he
used to spend much of his time in the mosque. If any student
will come in his presence then he will train him. After his living
in the new Lavari then people began visiting him in large
numbers and in a short period of time there was a started crowd
of the students there from all four sides. Shaikh Abdul Raheem
Garhudi said that “Whoever will bless one-time attention of
Khaja Saheb then he will become among famous shaikh of the
Sindh.”
There is the tradition by Shaikh Haji Mohammed Saleh that
before coming into the presence of Khaja Saheb I have traveled
and visited Rome, Syria, Arabia and Persia, Turkey, Tajik, and

many countries. And I found such grace at this place and which
could not be found even 10% of the grace at other places. There
was a result of the attention of many shaikh people upon me that
when I will engage in meditation, then I will find such width in
me that there will be entered all of the earth into me. When there
was attention upon me by Hazrat Sultan Auliya then there was
feeling with me that the power which I have obtained by visiting
all over the world and which was seized away from me. I have
tried to gather such power but I was not successful in this
matter. Then I have requested him again for his attention. Then
he gave me advice like a new student and upon which there
was fall such occurrence and its description is not possible. And
the power which gained by me and it was more than before.”
There is a tradition that “ Once Abdul Lateef Bhatai has the
intention to visit Hazrat Khaja Saheb to get favour from him.
When Shah Saheb reached the house of Hazrat Khaja Saheb
then he has sent one servant in his house so that to take
permission to enter into his house. Then he told us that “ We
ourselves are coming outside to welcome Shah Saheb.” When
the servant came outside then Shah Saheb asked with him “In
which work he was engaged.” And the servant told me that “He
was sitting silently there.” Shah Saheb told that “When he will
finish his work and he will come out side at the door. Come on
we will go inside.” When he has reached before Khaja Sahib
then he has recited one couplet in Urdu and its translation and
interpretation is as follows.

The travelers on  journey nobody know destination 


His neck is bent so how he can live without him

Hazrat Khaja Saheb in reply to the about couplet he said as


follows.

Have recital of there is nothing, nothing, and nothing 


With dagger of no, cut all relations of the world
Then we will teach you the secret of beloved by entirely

Upon this Syed, Saheb said as follows.

Lucky the pen which has written on the tablet


Friend, it has happened which is good in my fate  
 The writing which is beyond my selection 
For which to whom I should complain about the matter
Which was done only by my beloved with me 

Then he said as follows.

Sit in any group of persons who are writers of fate 


So that can change old 
and bring new writing 
By anyway, you can see the sight of your beloved 
It is possible that they advise you such teaching

     Upon this conversation, Shah Saheb has requested him to


become his disciple. And its reply he told him that “ In our
mystic way there is the prohibition of Sama meeting and music.”
Shah Saheb said that “All life he has to spend in this endeavours
and now he can not separate him from it.” After this Shah Saheb
who engaged with him in his company for some time.” At the
time of leaving Khaja Saheb has given Shah Saheb coverlet of
his caliphate as felicity. Shah Saheb has advised that at the time

of his death to be given shroud of that coverlet. Upon funeral,


this coverlet was placed on his dead body of Shah Latif. And
upon his burial, this coverlet was placed on his grave.
Hazrat Syed Saheb uses to recite the following couplets in
the praise of Khaja Saheb which is as follows.

 I have seen him oh my mother


Who got a meeting with the friend
There is no power in my tongue
So that mention about my friend

When there was asked about Khaja Saheb's status of Syed Saheb
then he has told that “He is also a person of heart like him.”
    There is a tradition which was reported by my dear friend that
“He used to say that there are many rights of the spiritual
master. Unless the disciple will not fulfill those rights then he
will not found guidance. But we have given all my rights to the
disciples so that they can get their destinations. But there is
required true devotion.”
    One day one person who told before Hazrat about caliphs of
Abdul Kareem Baladi Wale that when those darewsh passes on
the river then their foot and clothes did not wet by water.” Upon
hearing this he has become very happy and he said that “Still
day of miracle is very far and the bravery of the men which will
be seen on the day of resurrection and it will be known who will
take from their group from there safely to the Darul Salam
(heaven). There is tradition with Eisa Dasti and who said that
“We will not leave even our salt pot. We will like for our
disciples some other thing and salvation which is easy. Because
except disbeliever on any other person there will be a look

which is fallen by the holy person then there will be available


salvation to him.”
    I have heard from my father Altash Bin Haji Shamhir and
who used to say that “Still I have not visited Khaja Saheb.  I was
nearing the age of an adult. And I have heard praise of his holy
description of features. When I was heard as per praise of
description, then I used to engage in the meditation. Then I will
feel myself in the sky.”  Hafiz Abdul Malik was famous as Sain
Dana and who among the company of Hazrat Khaja Buzrug. He
was a person of fondness and condition. There is the tradition
from him that “I was passing life in my village with peace and
satisfaction then one rich person of time who came in the village
and began living. Due to much coming and going of the persons
in the village there came a disturbance in the peace and
satisfaction. So there was much sadness for me. So I went one
Farsang (Farsakh definition is - a Persian unit of distance
equal to about 4 miles) from the village in the ruined place and
began living there. And where I was engaged in my worship. On
the third day I have seen before me one person and who was
thrust into the earth up to his chest. I was surprised and asked
that person “Are you an angel or jinn?.” In a reply that person
told me that “I was among the persons who have passed away
from the world.Sultan Mahmood Ghazni when he was going on
the battle of Somanath I was with him. At the time our return
from here my days of life was over. And from that time till now
I was passing under punishment. On the first day when you
came here and engaged in the remembrance of Allah then there
decreased my punishment little to some extent. And on the
second day, I became free. Today I have such power to soul so I
have come in the shape of the body before you. So that to give
glad tidings to you that there are many of the disciples of your

spiritual master are belong to the heavenly abode.” The prophet


said that “Among my nation, there will be such group which will
enter into the paradise without accounting.” Then companions
have asked the prophet who will be such persons. He said that
“Those persons who will not involve in the work of amulet and
not they have belief in them. And they will have belief in the
creator.” One companion among the companions of the Khaja
Sahib who told that “ I used to live in service. One day one
disciple who used to live near the village came in his service.
And he has requested that “I need one teacher for the education
of the boys. If any darwesh person who is able then he should
live with me and I will fulfill his needs.” Hazrat Khaja Sahib has
given me an order so I went and lived there for some period.
One day I was sitting in the mosque then one person came there
and who was seemed like a traveler. And he was looking like a
pious person. And he said to me that “ I know to make alchemy
and if you like then I will tell you the formula.” There was no
likeness of my heart for this work. So I told him that “I do not
need alchemy. We are Fakir persons and what will do by making
gold by alchemy?.” Then he told me that “I know one recital.
And one who follows recital as per my conditions then he will
be going to see the prophet in his dream.” There came a thought
in my heart to learn this recital. On the next day when I went in
the presence of Khaja Saheb and he has told upon seeing me that
“Many of our Fakir persons who will watch the prophet in the
wake-up condition, but in spite of that we want that their
attention toward Allah.”
    Qazi Ahmed Damai who was among the special companion
of the Khaja Sahib and who said that “ When I was met first
time with Khaja Saheb then at that time I was going for the Hajj
pilgrimage along with my companions. I have heard the praise

of the Khaja Saheb before. And my heart desire to get excellent


in meeting with him before going to the Hajj pilgrimage. When I
have reached Lavari Sharif then he has given me advice on the
first night. On the next day, my companions have the intention
to go ahead from there. Then I went in his presence to get his
permission. He has told by seeing me that “ For going to Hajj
pilgrimage the man should become such and such so that he
should recognize ahead.” I was able to know the meaning of the
Khaja Sahib and so I have stayed there. Due to his favour of
kindness he used to pay attention to me daily basis. After three
days he has told me “Now if you want to go to Hajj pilgrimage
then you can proceed there.” Then I told that “ If I will get any
pious person there then whether he will have his company
there?.”He told me that “In that country, there is no person
available which is suitable for your company.” But there is one
shaikh in the country of Yemen. And he will walk and come to
see you thereupon performing of the Hajj pilgrimage. I was
reached in the Yemen country and I have heard that there is
living one pious personality. And he is generally well known
among people as Rais Mashaiq Mohammed Ali Dastar and who
used to live as a single person. On Friday I went to the Jama
mosque and where I was able to know that today shaikh coming
to the mosque. After some time there was heard loud and cry of
the shaikh’s arrival. I have seen there a large crowd of the
people with the shaikh and he is shaking his hands with the
people and during this time shaikh has seen me and he came
toward me. And he met me with much love and has paid much
respect. Then he has asked us where we are residing so that he
can come the next day to meet there.” We have informed him of
our place of residence. The next day shaikh has come to our
residence and he was with us for one hour. At the time of living,

we all went outside to leave him with respect. There was his
desire that I should return from there and for which he was
insisted on this matter. I told him that “When you will sit in the
convenience then we will leave from here.” The shaikh told me
that “ I will not like to sit in the convenience in the presence of
all of you.”
    One another friend who told me that “ I went in his presence
for any work of the world and I have requested in this matter
and at that time Haji Mohammed Saleh Kadahi who was also
present there. And who prohibited me not to approach in the
service of the spiritual master for the work of the world.” He
told while looking Haji Mohammed Saleh Kadahi that “Whether
we should follow any spiritual master for the works of the world
and then he said that in the works of the world we have to help
each other in this matter.”
    Among true companions, one friend told him that “ In one
season I have harvested maize in the field which was two
furlongs away from Lavari Sharif and from this field I used to
send some corn-cobs and other things in his service as an
offering.”
    In the next year, there was an abundance of water supply so I
have harvested rice. When I have gone in his presence and have
informed him about the harvesting of the rice in the field. He
told me that “It was better that you have not harvested in the
field.” And after this event, he has died soon. During that time
there was damage to rice cultivation by the insects that even one
grain of the rice which not get from the field. The government
workers came there to collect revenue from the field. I was
worried very much. And think that for payment of the land
revenue there is nothing with me. And which was about Rupees
hundred. When there was the measurement of my rice field then

I put 2-4 my steps away from my field and I have seen in the
direction of the Lavari Sharif and has paid attention to Khaja
Saheb in the loud voice I have requested “ This is the time of
help. Help me.” Then come back from there and sat in the
boundary of my field.” When revenue officials have completed
the measurement of the other fields then they have asked with
Bakhsu land-lord “ Whether any land is left or not?.” Bakshu
who has pointed toward my field. So the revenue official began
seeing each other. Then become angry with Bakshu that “You
are joking with us. And in that field except for thorns and
jungles, there is nothing. (for which we measure there).” Upon
saying this revenue official went away from there.Upon going
away from them Bakhsu who told me that “ Your spiritual
master has made them blind.”
     Khaja Saheb used to say that “ Those people who are buried
in the vicinity of the holy persons then they belongs to the
heavenly abode.” There is a tradition which is reported that on
the day of his death Khaja Saheb who was asking repeatedly his
companions to have provided meals soon to the group of the
persons. When the persons were eating then he was asking
whether all persons of the group have eaten meals. When all
persons of the group have eaten then he has slept on the bed by
covering himself with a coverlet and has closed his eyes. And
surrendered his soul to his creator. His death year is as follows.

‫"ورضي له قوال‬
“Be pleased with him saying "

( 1188 Hegira) and which is calculated as per his condition and


sayings and which are exactly the same.

4.Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-Samad

He was a shining pearl of the river of knowledge of God. Shaikh


Ahmed Qazi said that “With Hazrat Khaja Saheb before the
birth of Hazrat Gul Mohammed one son Abdul Lateef was born.
And who was died in the childhood period and there were no
children who were born to him. In those days I was not in his
service. Khaja Sahib who used to live in Hujra. At that time for
many companions, there was no permission to visit him in
Hujra. One day I was sitting in Hujra at his door in the opposite
of him and at that time one darwesh person came there and he
was sat along with me. I have seen that there was flowing of
tears from his eyes. Upon asking darwesh he told that “The
most severe person who was against Hazrat Khaja Saheb and his
name is Huthi and by taunt who said that your spiritual master
who has one son and who was died. And who himself has
become an elder person. And after him, his shrine building will
become ruined. And earthenware will be broken there.” Upon
hearing this he was sitting in an upright position and he has said
that” I have received glad tiding from Allah that our throne
which will continue till the time of the judgment day. In place of
earthen wares, there will come copper wares. And in the place of
no pucca houses, there will come for them palaces.”
     There is a tradition that when his first wife has died then in
the sons of Pir Ayub in the house of one pious and devout
person there was one daughter. And who has good manners. He
has sent his message through somebody who was rejected by the
girl’s parents. Then he himself has paid attention to her. At that
time there was came thinking in the hearts of the darwesh

persons that there is no scarcity of the women then why he is


insisting on this matter. ? When he has known about thinking of
the darwesh person so he told them that “The pearl for which he
has received glad tidings which will come from this oyster. At
last Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-Samad was born from that wife.”
    Mohammed Qadim who said that “I was asking questions
continuously with Allah that there will be born one son to my
spiritual master so that the lamp of this great family may set
alight always. One night I was sitting there in the mosque and
heard the barking of the dogs outside like that they were
attacking somebody. Then many persons were gathered there. I
also went to the door of the mosque. I have seen that one
Majzub (one lost in divine meditation) type person who was
there. And for which I did not see him before. And who
addressed me that “Congratulation today there was born in the
mansion of your spiritual master in the womb of his mother and
who will be Qutub (Qutb, Qutub, Kutb, Kutub or Kotb (Arabic:
‫)قطب‬, means 'axis', 'pivot' or 'pole'. ... The Qutb is the Sufi
spiritual leader that has a divine connection with God and passes
knowledge on which makes him central to, or the axis of,
Sufism, but he is unknown to the world.) of time and Ghouse (A
submission from India says the name Ghouse means "Helper,
defender" and is of Arabic origin. Search for more names by
meaning ) of the world.Upon saying this that person who was
vanished away from there. And I could able to know that
Majzub who belong to the men of the unseen.
    After someday I went in presence of of Khaja Saheb but I
forgot glad tiding of the Majzub. Upon seeing me Khaja Saheb
told me that “ It may happen like that as there is pregnancy.”
    Hazrat Khaja Gul Mohammed when he has sat in the school
where he did not show his interest in reading and writing.

During the study time, he has spent his time playing with the
boys. One day Khaja Saheb has advised his attention to reading
and writing. At that time he was in the room of Hafiz (Quran-
conner) for rest there. And now that room’s half portion which is
included in the north side bungalow. Then at that time
spirituality of the prophet has come there and told him that “Do
not involve in such trouble and we are the teacher of him.” After
that event, Khaja Saheb did not do many endeavours for the
education of Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-Samad.
     One day Hazrat Mahboob Al-Samad who told his darwesh
persons about the death details of his father that “ When he has
died some members of our family have agreed in this matter that
his final resting place will be constructed in some other place.
Due to his death all darwesh persons who were in sad condition.
And about me, it was said that this orphan may be kept away
from meetings it means from the throne. Shaikh Abdul Rahim
Garhodi come there and said that “Every prophet was buried at
the place of his residence especially the last prophet of Allah. So
Khaja Saheb should be buried at the place of his death. And the
meeting of the students will continue. He said about me that “ If
he will be orphan then he will become soon poor and otherwise
he is the treasure of Allah. And its keys have been entrusted to
him.”
    
Three days after the death of Khaja Saheb, Hazrat Khaja
Mahboob Al-Samad who sat on the throne. Among all first
Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi who has pledged on his hands.
And after him big companions who have become his disciples.
Among them are Shaikh Abu Taleb, Haji Taher, and Hafiz
Hidayat Allah who are important persons. After them, all

persons who were present there, in general, have pledged on his


hands.
    There is a tradition which is reported by the friends of the
Khaja Sahib that “ One day by seeing Khaja Mahoob Al-Samad
in the playing there came a thinking in his heart that in this
condition what benefit he can give favour to others persons.?”
Then he has paid immediate attention toward me and he said as
follows.
“Those who are empowered to give and they will give in every
condition.”
     Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi who said that “ There were
two qualities in him and which I could not see in another
shaikhs.” One for his look of the manifest for which no person
could not criticize him as per the law of Shariat of Islam. The
other is that no person is not sad about him. There are many
persons in the world who are there who make sad other persons.
But such a person is brave who is never become sad from other
persons.”
    He was such a person of manners that he never called any
person without respect. If in the meeting place there will be
available the companions of Khaja Sahib then he will not keep
his foot in the straight direction. About his knowledge of
manifest as well as innermost which will be known if there will
be a discussion about such kind of matter with him in the above
subjects.  
Syed Mohammed and Qazi Ahmed Damami who were two
persons of the knowledge and excellence and who said that “In
spite of their much knowledge and wisdom but we are before
him like the student of the school.” Throughout the day his
meeting will be continued and there was no restriction of any
person to enter his meeting place at any time. Due to the

gathering of the companions his heart never becoming tight. He


used to sit in the shrine building while smiling face always. He
used and to try to please the friends very much. He will look
with respect elders and with the look of courage to young
persons and affection to the children. When anybody will
request him for the prayer then he will be used to say that “
Allah will do good.” If he will response then the work will be
done soon. If there will hesitate then there will be a doubt about
the completion of that work.
     There are many of his miracles and it is not possible to gather
all of them. Some of his miracles are mentioned as follows.
    Syed Alam Lahore who said that “ When he has gone to
Makkah for the Hajj pilgrimage then at that time one young
person who met with me at the Safa place and he has told me
that “ To give your hand for devotion to me as in the mystic
way I am your spiritual master.” Upon saying this he has
vanished away from my look. When I went to Jumra's place then
that person blessed me with his visit. One time I have seen that
he is standing in Kaba. I have asked many Arab persons about
him but nobody did not inform me of his details. And nor they
did not know any information about him. By chance after Hajj
pilgrimage I have heard by some persons that one pious person
from Lavari Sharif is residing there and who is a great pious
person. After preparation I went to see that pious person. And
upon seeing him I have recognized him. And he was same
person which I have seen him in Makkah city.
Syed Habib Shah Poshangi who was a special companion of
the king in his area in one period and who has said about the
event of his becoming his disciple that “ One time we are
fighting with the infidel persons at the bank of the river in which
there was the defeat to us in the battle. There was overpower

upon us by the opposite army. In the confusion many of our


companions who were fallen in the river water. And I was also
among them. I have tried my best to come out of the river but
could not succeed in this matter. In such a helpless condition, I
have remembered many shaikh persons in the nearby area to
take me out of the river water. Suddenly one beautiful and
graceful young person who was appeared there and the
description of beauty and grace of that young person which is
not possible by me. He caught me and in one jerk he has taken
me out of the river water but soon he has vanished away from
there. So I was surprised by this matter. But decided in the heart
that from today onwards he is my spiritual master. Then I have
disconnection my relation with the world soon and started a
journey to search that shaikh. I have searched all areas of
Khorasan and Mavra Nahar. And reached up to Delhi but could
not find him. When Madad Khan Pathan decided to attack on the
Sindh province then I have joined his army with this idea that
there may be possible to get some information about that young
man. When I have entered Sindh when heard about any sheikh
then I have gone in his presence but could be successful in my
aim. At last in the city of Hala Kandi, I was able to know that
there is one pious person in Lavari Sharif. At that time there was
confusion and riots were there in the country so for this reason
I have returned back from there. When the conditions were
improved then I have reached Lavari Sharif. When I have visited
then I have recognized him this that prince who has saved me
from the punishment of river. Then I was lived in Lavari Sharif
and demanded knowledge of mysticism. He has given me
teaching and he has shown much of his interest. All these effects
are due to his attention.”

    Shaikh Karim Allah said that “I have asked one proposal for
marriage. But the dealing which was reached up to the marriage
level. There was a fondness for me to visit Lavari Sharif. And
much time I have spent in Lavari Sharif. Suddenly there came
one person from the village and he told that “Your father in law
has broken your marriage proposal and now he has fixed this
proposal to some other place. And there will be marriage in the
tomorrow night.” 
    When this matter was reached to Hazrat Khaja mahboob Al-
Samad then he has called me in his presence and he has asked
me “What is your opinion”? I told him that “ There is no cure
for it. There is the promise of tonight and there is a journey of
ten days.” He then said that “ There will be good from Allah.
But for one time it is required by you to go.” As per his saying I
was started from there. Upon covering a distance of three kose
(conversion suggested a kos to be approximately 2 English
miles.) I was tired and there was the start of the nightfall there.
So I have finished my travel. And the next day I have covered
the journey of 4-5 kose and nightfall started and I have stayed at
that place. I have the feeling that there were waves of the earth
under my foot. And I worried that if such will be condition then
how I will reach my village?. Then away from the way I have
gone and slept at that place. When I was waking up and when
there was a morning I have seen one village near that place. And
it was the same as my village. I was surprised what is the story
in this matter,? When I have reached near the village and find
one person there who knows me. Then I came to know that I
have reached my village. With that known person I have asked
my problem and then he has told that “There was a promise of
marriage yesterday night but suddenly there was a broken fire in
the house. When there was extinguish the fire from one side then

there was the start of fire from another side. And in this way, the
whole night passed away. Tonight one black snake appeared in
the house which was moving around the girl. Now I am coming
from there.” From this matter, there was satisfaction for me.
And I went to my house and
talk about my marriage with my father in law. But my father in
law refused my marriage proposal. The village headman belongs
to the Parkar Blaooch tribe and his name was Jogi and who was
instigated by me. So he was angry with me and he abused me
very much. I was worried very much and went to the mosque.
Began thinking that I did not come here by myself.? Then began
thinking that to watch what will be going to happen?. Still, even
some moments were not passed away then village head mans’
elder son who was falling from the upper side and died there and
still this mourning was in progress than at that time there was
heard weeping and loud and cry from outside of the village. It
was known that the village head man’s younger son who has
gone on the hunting and he was falling from the horse and died
by breaking his neck. Upon this head man of the village began
thinking that this has happened because he was making me
angry. Then he came near to me and began regretting and he
said to me that “Stood the proposal is yours.” Then at that time,
my marriage was done.
It is said by Khaja Saheb about Hazrat Mahoob Al-Samad that
“ He is Qutub (Qutub (Qutb, Qutub, Kutb, Kutub, or Kotb
(Arabic: ‫)قطب‬, means 'axis', 'pivot' or 'pole'. ... The Qutb is the
Sufi spiritual leader that has a divine connection with God and
passes knowledge on which makes him central to, or the axis of,
Sufism, but he is unknown to the world.) for showing the path of
righteousness and Qutub of orbit and his way of life is Qalandari

(daunt-less spirit). Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi said that “ He


is protectors of duties, dauntless person and generous person and
like him is not there and will never be there.”
Once about the works of this world and religion and he said
that “Many persons who want that after finishing of such and
such work then they will engage in the remembrance of Allah.
This absurd thinking that unless and until there will be not taken
out about wishes of the world, then by that time there will be
not be returned to Allah.”

As there will be not possible two works by one hand


In the same way, two beloveds could not live in one heart

It means the wishes of the world and religion


which is not possible to live in one heart

He used to say that “ When there will be overpowered by


love mundane on the camel then he leaves eating and drinking
for a period of four months. But if there will be overpowered of
the love of Allah on any person then what will be his
condition?.” He used to say that “Before 18 years this world
which seemed good for us. After this for a period of 30 years,
both worlds which were seemed equal. But now it seemed
another world good.”
He left this mortal world in between Maghrib and Eisha prayer
time on 27th Rabbial Thani in the year 1218 Hegira
corresponding to 14th October in the year 1803 A.D. His date of
the death year is calculated from the following verse of the Holy
Quran.

‫وقضي ا هلل امر‬

5.Hazrat Ghouse Alam Khaja Thani

Hazrat Ghouse Alam Khaja Thani was born in the month of


Ramadan in the year 1199 Hegira corresponding to July 1784
A.D.There is a tradition by Hafiz Hidayat Allah that Khaja
Buzrug who has given him two glad tidings that we will come
into life a second time. And upon you, there will be evident the
reality of the Prophet Mohammad. Hafiz Hidath Allah’s friends
used to tell him that “ Those persons who left from this world
and among them, no person did not come back to this date.
Against of this practice, how it will happen.?”But Hafiz Saheb
used to say that “ He has belief upon his spiritual master and it
will happen.” When Hafiz Saheb was able to know that in the
house of Hazrat Mahboob Al-Samad one boy was born and his
name was given as per his ancestor’s name Mohammed Zaman.
Then he told his friends that “Khaja Buzrag which given me two
glad tidings and one among them was fulfilled. He was exactly
like Khaja Buzrag. And I hope that other glad tidings will be
fulfilled.” When Hafiz Hidayat Allah at the time of his death
who told that today there was fulfilled the promise of Khaja
Buzrag that the reality of Ahmedi in briefs and in detail which
was revealed to me.
Among the friends of Khaja Buzrag who used to say that
“Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman Thani in the shape and

appearance exactly same as per Hazrat Khaja Buzrag. As such


that from head to toe there was no difference of a mole.”
Hazrat Siddha Tora used to say that “There is the similarity
of the name which is available and in some conditions there is
also, the possibility of reality’s one shape and every person’s
body shape will be different but Hazrat Ghouse Alam in the
name, the body is as per his sample and which was exactly the
same and similar as per Hazrat Khaja Buzrag.”
Mir Noor Ali Shah used to say that “ In a manifest way
Ghouse Alam who has been appointed by Khaja Mahboob Al-
Samad as his successor. But in reality, he was a perfect pious
personality. And who was reached on the position of perfection
in the innermost. Since the beginning due to favour of his
ancestor, he has been an Awasie. Mir Noor Ali Shah used to say
that “Once still he did not become adult than at the time of mid-
morning he has called me to bring a coat for him and then he
was wearing it. I was surprised as the season was very hot. I
have asked him the reason in this matter then he has told me that
“ In such and such country there was severe rainfall. And due to
this reason, there were falling off the house walls in the large
numbers. We were watching this proceeding of a case so there
was a feeling of cold and for this reason, we have asked for a
coat to wear.”
Mir Noor Ali while mentioning this matter he was asked to
him that “ Some people who will vanish from the meeting place
and then they found there in the twinkling time of eyes after
going some distance. And what is its reason in this matter.?. He
said that “ Such people who are sitting there they themselves
done negatived by the phrase of La and then where they appear
and they are doing affirmation by phrase of Illah.”

who said that “Due to some special reason he did not use to visit
his father in the last days of illness. I have asked him that your
other son who used to visit you during your illness but Hazrat
Ghouse Alam did not come to visit you and what is its reason in
this matter?. He said that “ We did not want to give trouble to
Miya Jeo.” For Hazrat Ghouse Alam he always gives much
respect and calls him Miya Jeo. Then one time he came to visit
his father then Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-Samad upon seeing
him he was much happy and at the time of standing he has given
him a sign to bring spouted jug then Hazrat Ghouse Alam who
has brought it and presented in his service and upon this, he was
happy very much in this matter. And he told him that “This
service to you which will be sufficient till the day of the
judgment.”
Hazrat Ghouse Alam went for the Hajj pilgrimage two times
in his life period. First journey in the year 1228 Hegira
corresponding to 1813 A.D. And this journey’s chronogram date
is
‫و ذ كر اسم ربي‬
And mentioned the name of my Lord
On the day of Eid of Zil Hajj, he has started preparation for
the Hajj pilgrimage and on the 14th Zil Hajj after the
performance of Friday prayer, he has commenced his journey. A
large number of groups of the persons who bade him God bye
on the outside of the city. And he proceeded on the journey
along with his companions. By passing Katch Karn, he has
reached Mandavi Bandar. Where Sindh’s rich and wealthy
persons who were becoming his disciples. And they have
become ready to go to Makkah for the Hajj pilgrimage along

with him. And in his group, there were a hundred persons added.
At last, he has boarded the ship and he has arrived at the seaport
of Maqa.Upon his arrival city’s nobles and respectable persons
have come on the seaport to welcome him there. The Arab
world’s famous learned person and Mufti Shaikh Mohammed
Abid Madni who has the devotion of heart to him and who was
there on the seaport to welcome him and once he has visited
Lavari Sharif from Madina. There is tradition reported by
Shaikh Abid that “ When he got down from ship than the other
people who moved forward and kissed his hands. When he has
looked at me then he has shaken my hands and embarrassed me.
And by holding my hands he has gone to my house. From his
love I have felt that he has not known me before but even
though it was my first meeting with him. One darwesh person by
folding his hands has told him that our residence is on the other
side. By the sign he was pointed towards him and he told him
that such and such a person who is taking to his house. Then he
was there in my house for three days. And remaining days he
was with his disciples in his residence. There was such effect of
his love and affection upon me so I have told him that “I want to
enter into the mystical way”.He advised me. At the time of 3rd
part of the day he asked me to engage in the remembrance of
Allah. There was overpower of devotion upon me that for some
days that I have vanished away from my personality and my
knowledge of manifest which was merged in the devotion and in
the opposite of the people of the innermost I was much
delighted in this matter. And for this group, my belief was
increased very much. I have seen Hazrat’s many miracles. My
devotion which depends on two things. First is in spite of my
wide knowledge of my heart, which was careless from the
remembrance of Allah. Till such that I have entered in his

company.Hazrat Imam Azam of Kofa who has acquired


teaching of knowledge of innermost from Hazrat Imam Jafer Al-
Sadiq. Who said that “This life’s last two years which will not
get then Noman would been killed.”The second thing which
forced me to enter into the mystic way is that his carelessness
about the world. We learned people do not have much devotion
then the other person who have interest towards Sufism. I have
seen many people who have claim of the Sufism but in them
there is no reality at all. So for this reason my heart which was
showing interest to enter in the group of such persons.Once one
Shaikh from Egypt came to Makkah and with him there was a
large number of group persons.And many persons of Makkah
people who return with them.I went to meet with him along with
learned persons of Makkah. I have seen them that there were
happy for the benefit of the religion and they were regretting for
the loss of the world and due to this observation my heart which
was become very tight. And I have come back from there.And
from that day till now from Rome to Syria I have not seen such
person like Khaja Mohammed Zaman Thani and I have tried my
best but he did not become happy or sad for the benefit or loss of
the world.”
At last he has come to Jeddah. And from where upon
arrangement of convenience he was reached to Makkah city. He
was getting down from convenience at the outside of the city
and by walking he was entered into the holy Harem of Makkah
along with his two servants. Hafiz Maluk who said that “ At the
place of Sa’I (Sa’i (Arabic: ‫ )السعي‬is one of the integral rites of
Hajj and Umrah and refers to the ritual of walking back and
forth seven times between the two small hills of Safa and
Marwa, located adjacent to the Kaaba in Masjid al-Haram.) He

which is as follows.
‫مفلسا نه امدم د ر کوعی تو‬
‫شی هلل از جما ل ال و عی تو‬
He did not use to take care of the show and in Sindh, he used
to wear a cap and a coat, but in Arabia as per customs of the
country he was used to wearing a shirt and turban. He used to
prohibit his disciples not to gather around him. So that there will
be no fame of him. In spite of it by seeing the light of his face
many pilgrims of the Hajj of many countries who did not know
him and used to say to him that you are Sultan of India.
He usually engages in the Twaf (Linguistically, the word is
derived from the Arabic verb Taafa (Arabic: ‫ )طاف‬which means
“to walk around” or “To encircle something”. Its technical
meaning is to perform seven anti-clockwise circuits of the
Kaaba. One complete circuit of the Kaaba is known as a Shawt
(Arabic: ‫ )شوط‬during the night time. And in the daytime after
performing his religious duties, he used to sit all-time in a silent
position. When he has started a journey for Madina then he has
covered the journey from Asar time to Eisha prayer by walk.
And in Madina he stayed for a period of five months and most
time he used to sit before the mausoleum of the prophet in
meditation. Hafiz Mamluk used to say that in Madina one group
which was arrived from Samarqand which had much devotion
with Hazrat Khaja Ahrar and most time they used to be
presence in his service. The people of this group used to say that
“ In your spiritual master there are all qualities which are written
by Khaja Ahrar in his book Maqamat. It will be very good that
Hazrat may bless us with a visit to our country so that people
living there may get benefits and favour from a new way.”

In the month of Ramadan, he went back to Makkah and he


was reached from there to Arafat by walk. Hafiz Mamlok has
said that “When we were in the sea, then at that time there was a
flood which encircles us. And ship began bending to one side.
The people become very much worried and there was started
loud and cry in this matter. But he was sitting in a much
peaceful condition in a serious situation and they have requested
him for prayer. In the reply, he said that “Have satisfaction and
there will be good from the side of Allah.” And after some time
there was less of the flood. On the return journey when we have
reached Hudaida seaport and by that time season of departure of
the ships started there but he has stopped his departure and he
has stayed there. The face of the companions which showed him
that they want to continue their journey. And in this matter, they
have requested him but he was not given permission to them.
Hafiz Maluk said that Hazrat told him that “He has stayed here
for a few days as our holy persons have prohibited him to
continue the journey. In which there will be some wisdom surer.
That day is not far from us on which day we will reach in the
good condition of life.” Hafiz said that “I have seen that in the
group there was left an amount of five Riyals with them. And in
this condition, we were worried very much. We have informed
this reality in the service of the Shaikh. He said that “Do not
worry still there are expenses of one day. And all our works
have surrendered to Allah.” Then we have seen that one person
came there in his service of Khaja Saheb and presented him a
huge amount and went away from there. We could not recognize
who was that person and it was not known from which place he
has come there.”
At last, on the 12th Shawwal in the year 1230 Hegira, he has
reached with his group at the Mandvi Bandar. And in the same

month of 14th Shawwal at the time of the third part of the day he
was reached to Vimakan place. And this place is situated away
from Lavari Sharif and in the night he stayed there and in the
early morning, he went to his house.
For the second Hajj pilgrimage, he has started the journey in
the month of Safar in the year 1238 Hegira corresponding to
October 1822. Hafiz said that “He has stayed for 40 days in
Mandavi Bandar of waiting for coming of the ship to travel. At
the time of the journey, he has collected a large number of
foodstuffs and drink items with him. Due to the opposite winds,
there was spent much time on the sea journey. The crew of the
ship has given much trouble to the poor Hajj pilgrims. He has
called me and given an order that “ From foodstuff, there may
be given food items to children and old persons as per
requirement.” And the order was fulfilled in this matter. And at
last, there was left foodstuff stock for some days only.” The
persons were worried about this matter. He has called me and
told me to ask with captain where is any near beach and how far
it is near.? I have asked the captain and who said that the beach
of the mountain of Naus is near. And it is at a distance of four
days journey. I have told Hazrat full details on this matter. He
was silent for some time then he was told that “Stand and see
whether there is found any fort.” I stood and came outside but
could not find any fort. He has given me a second-time order.
Then I went outside and have seen as far as possible and find
something like a cloud. Upon hearing this he was smiling and he
said this is Naus. I have informed the captain and who was
angry with me. And he told me with anger that “Naus mountain
is at a distance of 100 kose from here.” In short, I was silent.
After some time Naus mountain was, seen there. At that time he
has given me the order to go said to the captain of the ship to

divert the ship’s direction to that side so that the people can take
water and other things from there.” When I have told this matter
to the captain then he said that “ Most of the time was wasted in
this matter and at this time direction of winds is right and if we
go at the side of the mountain then our journey will not be
finished. There is a difficulty of two days. But there will be
covered a long journey.” I went into the presence of Khaja
Saheb and told him full story. He has sent me again to see the
captain and tell him that “Mankind is worried very much and
there is required to do something for them in this matter.” I have
explained the captain very much but he did not understand my
talking with him.The behavior of the captain which was the
cause of unpleasant for him and he said that “If he did not agree
then let him leave. This ship is surrender to Allah. And what he
wills which will be happening?.” Hafiz said that “ At that time
winds started from the opposite direction and endeavours of the
captain which was proved useless and fleet, which was reached
near the sweet water. When we have reached on the seaport and
at that time he got down from the ship and he said that “The
person of the ship in-charge is not a person of justice. And we
do not want him.” He has not even taken back the ship fare
amount from him. He was there for some days for not finding
another ship for the journey. One day he told me to go and see
whether any boat is coming there?. On the outside, I could not
find any boat there. So I have come back. After one hour as per
his order, I went outside and have seen the boat there. I have
come back in his presence and told him that “Yes, there is a boat
but it is not known in which direction it is going.?”
He told me that “ The boat is coming for us. I went and
inquired that the boat is coming in such a direction for which
there is our journey place. The crewman was a pious person.

With servants of the Hazrat, he was treated with much humility,


sincerely, and with love. One friend said that “Once he was
performing the prayer in the boat and he was sitting near to him.
Suddenly there was came thinking in my mind about my house
and for this reason, I have become worried about this matter.
When he has finished his prayer then he has told me that “Upon
making a decision of the journey there should not have to worry
about the backside.”
When he reached Makkah then he has told that “The prayers
of newcomers in Makkah which will be accepted in the first
three days there.” The darwesh persons have asked which kind
of prayers should be asked with Allah?.” He has said that “ The
student should require presence of Allah.So for this reason from
him it should be asked that thing.”
One day there was started discussion about Hajj pilgrimage
in his meeting place and he said that “ There are three kinds of
Haji persons as follows.
1.One who will be watching the painting and pattern on walls
and doors and for which he will be content in this matter.
2.One who will watch painting and pattern and who will have
some intentions to have some favours.
3.The work of this third group is separate.
Hafiz said that during this journey has given a warning to
some persons among his companions that “What has happened
to you all.? You all have left your household and country on the
backside. And have suffered the difficulties of the journey. And
in spite of this, you are wasting time in the carelessness.”
Once one group of Jogi (Hindu ascetic) persons of Jaipur
while visiting was reached to Saihun.In Saihun the group leader
has heard praise of Hazrat Ghouse Alam. In the heart of that

Hindu monk, there was found great fondness to meet with him.
He has left his companions there and while taking two servants
he has reached Badeen on foot. Then he has left servants in
Badeen and then he went alone to Lavari Sharif. Hazrat has
included him in his mystic way. And made him rich in one of his
looks.

When there be horse most fast and powerful


And riders will be active then it will be good work

In the same way, if the spiritual master is perfect and student


who will have the desire to get favour from him so then there
will be no such thing as this.
In the house, there was one fakir who unprecedented and who
has a habit of eating opium. One day morning he has said that “
Due to helpless condition of my habit of opium I have eaten
some opium then suddenly from the flag side two persons came
there in the white dress. And they began moving towards me.
And they came near me at the distance of one foot. And during
this time I have eaten some quantity of the opium. They said by
looking at me that “ We have brought you up to this place but
you have not left this bad habit.” Upon saying this they both
have vanished away from there. Then I was able to know that
these were souls. After this, I have repented in this matter and
thrown the balance quantity of opium in the fire.
There were many Hindu people who were among his disciples.
He used to teach them of the Islamic creed in the loneliness and
then afterward he will add them in a mystic way.
Once he has seen one darwesh who has the book of Masnavi
Jalaluddin Rumi in his hands and he was busy in reading it. He
has told him that “By reading only books there will not find

God. But the student should pay attention by heart to Allah.


Moulana Rumi has written at the end of Masnavi's book that “I
have not written Masnavi that people carry it in their necks like
the pocket edition of the Quran Sharif. But Masnavi is like a
ladder of reality. And by putting the step on it, then you can go
to the sky. And not this that by putting a ladder in the neck and
to go to one city to another city. And by doing so there will not
find the aim.”
It's poetry of the Masnavi (The title Masnavi-ye-Ma'navi
(Persian: ‫وی‬¥¥‫وی معن‬¥¥‫ )مثن‬means "The Spiritual Couplets". The
Masnavi is a poetic collection of anecdotes and stories derived
from the Quran, Hadith sources, and everyday tales. Stories are
told to illustrate a point and each moral is discussed in detail.) of
Moulana Rumi which is the ladder of the sky. And one who will
step on it then he will reach on the roof. It means he will be
successful in its higher aims. Even though the roof of the sky
seemed green, but you climb on this roof and which is over on
the sky.
He used to say that “ Some shaikhs who did not ask a question
for them with Allah in this world. So that there will be salvation
for them in the other world.”
Mir Noor Ali said that “There was the fondness for one
person to follow the way of the mysticism. He has visited many
Shaikh persons. But his heart was not liked any place. At last, he
was forced to teach him. I have engaged him unwillingly in the
endeavours. That person also promised that he will be engaged
in the endeavours.Still, he was not reached at the height then he
has taken my permission and went to Marvand.One day I was
sitting in the presence of Khaja Saheb then at that time I have
remembered that person so I have told Khaja Saheb that “ Your
honour have paid attention and see on which stage that person is

there now?.”The other day Khaja Saheb smiled and said to me


that “ Have you not inquired about your disciple.? So I asked
what is the matter.?” He said “ He is in Kabul. Whatever you
have shown him on the way of the mysticism which he has
forgotten.”
Mir Mahmood Bahram Shaheed told me that “My wife was
suffering from a dangerous disease which called quinsy and her
illness which was increased so for this reason we have
disappointed from her life. My wife upon seeing the death time
near then she has called me and all her daughters and she told
that big daughter she is eligible for marriage and so to take care
of her in every way. During this time I have seen that Khaja
Saheb has come there and by signs, he was telling me that you
do not worry and we are with you. Upon seeing the surprise
event I have told my wife that you do not worry that Hazrat
Ghouse Alam who is present here.” Upon my saying this he has
vanished away from here. But there was a satisfaction to all
household persons due to the visit of him. Now there is good
and also it was happened as such that my wife was recovering
from a dangerous illness.” Mir Noor Ali told me that “My wife
in her last days of the illness she told me that there is a very hard
time so there was fear for me that how she will die.?” I have
told that “ Do not worry Khaja Saheb who will come at the time.
And due to his miracle, your end will be good. Then I sat
thereby paying attention to him. And he came there. I have told
that “Hazrat Khaja Kalan and Hazrat Mahboob Al-Samad who
came there. He said that “ You did not have faith in those holy
persons. And you have paid attention to me.” I have told that “
They have got religious instruction from your side. He told me
that “ The coming of those holy persons was due to my religious

instruction only. But it is required to keep faith in strong


condition.”
The great shaikh told that “I have told Hazrat with a sad heart
that I am seeing your inclination for the other world. But this is
not the time for your going from this world. He told that “Hazrat
Sulaiman who was given a large kingdom but he also left from
this world. And this world is a mortal place. I have requested
him that this fate may be changed at some other time so that
Hazrat Ghouse Madni will be grown up. Upon this, he has told
that “For all big and small there is one only Sustainer.”
Hafiz Maluk said that “ On 16th Safar in the year 1247
Hegira corresponding to 28th July in the year 1831 he was
advised that to tell Hafiz Sad Allah to give him a funeral bath
and his grave should be in the eastern direction of the tomb of
Hazrat Khaja Kalan and for the sake of respect keep my grave in
the lower level as much as possible. Hafiz Sad Allah was Quran-
Conner, reader and he was his disciple. And Hazrat used to hear
the Quran at the backside of him during the month of Ramadan.
And his village which was at the distance of two days of the
traveling time from his house. And he was staying there. On the
16th date Hazrat has informed him in a spiritual way. Hazrat
Ghouse Alam on 17th date on Wednesday at the time evening
twilight left this mortal world and Hafiz Sad Allah who has
reached there. And he has given him a funeral bath on a
Thursday morning. His chronogram date is found from the
following date.
‫گفت ها تف برب خلوت او‬
There was heard invisible call that he was met with his creator

On the third day his son, Hazrat Khaja Ghouse Madni asked
by Hafiz Sad Allah how he has reached at the time.?. He said
that “On 16th Safar for some work he has left the house
urgently. And told the wife that I will come back before sunrise
time. My wife upon my return has informed me that “Upon your
going from the house there was a call from the outside of the
house is Sad Allah is there in the house?. Then I went outside of
the house. I have recognized the voice of Hazrat Ghouse Alam.
When there was a call for the second time then I went to the
door and have seen Hazrat Ghouse Alam who was standing
there. Then I went for four steps further and put my hands on the
earth and kissed his foot with respect. He has asked that “
Whether Hafiz did not there.”? I have told him that “Your
honour just now he is coming back.” He said, “ When he will
come back then send him to our side.” By saying this he has
vanished away from my look. I have seen at that place with my
eyes his face and body there.” Hafiz used to say that upon
hearing this I was surprised what is the event.? Why he has
called me in this way.? And the meal was ready and I have eaten
the meals somehow or other and went on walking. By the time
of the afternoon I have reached the graveyard of Kot Shah. And
where there is the grave of my grandfather Hafiz Eidu. Hafiz
Eidu has given a funeral bath of Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-
Samad. I thought to have some rest there. When there will a
decrease in the day heat so that then I will continue my journey.
Then I sat at the grave of my grandfather. In the meditation, by
earthly eyes, I was seeing that Hafiz came out of the grave, and
in the earth, his half-length of the body was there and who has
seen me and told me that” You have called there but still you
are sitting here.” My wisdom which was surprised and began

running from there and at least by evening time I was reached


here.”
God be praised, his apparent earthly existence which was to
look in an unconscious condition. Sometimes he was seen by
opening his eyes and in an innermost way, he was giving
information about persons of the many places who are died and
as well as details of the living persons.
6.Hazrat Khaja Abdul Lateef Saqeer

He was the younger brother of Hazrat Ghouse Alam and son of


Hazrat Mahboob Al-Samad’s son. He was mystic of time and he
was a perfect pious person. At one time there was prevailed as
such occurrence that he has become a Majzub (one lost in divine
meditation) and in one cold winter night there was prevailed
condition of absorption upon him, then he went without wearing
slippers, and without covering the body and head outside in the
streets. And he was repeating this couplet which is as follows.

What is the power of the earth to say, potters


That's why you made me and why broke me
One day in the fondness he has told the Hazrat Ghouse Alam
that if there will be your permission is there then he can separate
truth from the false. And he has told him that “ You did not
come into the world for this work.? And for this matter, there is
a special person who is there and who is known as Mahdi Muad
(A.S.).
One day he has said that there is holiness for this house. There
is regret that we will not care for it as such. Shaikh

Mahkumuddin Sailani when he has passed from this house then


there was no habitation there. In spite of this he has passed
without wearing footwear from there. When it was asked by
him, then he has told that “ This is a place of such holy person
that and who will be leader of the world.” Shaikh Abdul
Raheem Garhudi who did not live ever in the house without
ablution. And he used to keep the mouth’s saliva in the clothes.
And he did not throw to the earth. And in this place, he did not
wear his slippers.” Hazrat Abdul Latif has given him permission
to enter students in the way of mysticism three times by Hazrat
Ghouse Alam. He has much love with Hazrat Ghouse Alam.
One day he has said to Ghouse Alam that “He has seen one
event in the dream that one among us of two brothers one will
have died. As the existence of the world is dependent on you. So
you should be safe. And I will accept my departure. There was
an epidemic of the plague spread by Allah and in which he has
left this mortal world. At the time of his death, Hazrat Ghouse
Alam came there and stood at the side of the head. And he has
asked him “What is your condition.?” Then he has replied as
follows.

If I left the world then what is the grief there.?


Because in it there is an aim that you should be safe

Then he smiled and turned his direction to Qibla


(Etymologically, the Arabic word Qibla direction (‫ )قبلة‬means
"Qibla the direction of the Kaaba (the sacred building at Mecca),
to which Muslims turn at prayer.". In Islamic ritual and law, it
refers to a special direction faced by Muslims during prayers and
other religious contexts. ... Inside a mosque, the Qibla is usually
indicated by a mihrab, a niche in its Qibla-facing wall.). Then

Hazrat Ghouse Alam told that “ To keep him and put in the
upright position of sleep.” When they're fulfilled Hazrat’s order
then he has left the mortal world. He was died on the 15th
Shaban in the year 1236 Hegira corresponding to 18th May in
the year 1821. This event’s chronogram date is calculated from
the following couplet.
‫سا ل آن‬
‫بكمال خا كي‬
‫گفت هاتف امين بجنت رفت‬

During this year the perfect person who left


To the heavenly abode told that faithful caller

7. Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Rahmeem Garhudi

He was having a livelihood of the marvelous as well as the


exemplary personality of his time. He was the perfect caliph of
Hazrat Khaja Buzrag. He has a great position in the knowledge
of manifest. The condition of his innermost was as such that
from Thatta to Multan there was no such learned person
opposite to him. His mystic way was started as follows.
When he has seen one darwesh while going to Lavari Sharif
then he told him that “To ask your spiritual master the way on
which our prophet who was on it there it is still open for others
or it was there only for the prophet.” When darwesh went into
the presence of Hazrat Sultan Auliya Khaja Mohammed Zaman
then he has forgotten the matter of Garhudi. When he was
returning back from there Hazrat Khaja Mohammed Zaman told

him what such and such person told you. At that time darwesh
remembered the matter, he has told him all reality in his
presence.Sultan Auliya told that darwesh that “ You go and tell
darwesh that “ In the same way as bridge which was
constructed for caliph of Baghdad which is still there. And
everybody is passing from there. In the same way there was
constructed bridge for the prophet. And which is never
destructed. But the passing of the prophet was with dignity and
as per the rules and regulation and behind passing army of the
king which will be as per their dignity and as per his customs.
When Garhudi heard this then he left dialectic and discussion of
the knowledge of manifest, then he went to Lavari Sharif.
He himself said that “ When he was entered into the mystic
way then he soon the reality of the Prophet Adam (R.A.) which
known upon him. Earth’s kneading and putting in it soul and
it's reaching into the mind and coming off a sniff at that time
and all these matters which I was able to know well.”
Shaikh Abdul Raheem told that “ One day he was present in
the service of Khaja Buzrag. The prayer time of Asr prayer was
near to at finishing time. And I requested to perform the Asr
prayer. Then he says that “Our shaikhs who have performed the
prayer Asr with some delay time.” I have told that for
performing the supererogatory prayers what is the requirement
to follow shaikhs.? After a delay of some time, he has performed
the Asr prayer. Then he has paid attention to me that “ Due to
long age and weakness of the body there is delay by me to
perform the prayers.” The Shaikh told that “ Due to this
disrespect there is always causing delay to perform the Asr
prayer.”
One day there was talk among the companions and
discussion reached Mansour Hallaj and at the time of midnight.

When the discussion was reached at the point of killing and then
at that Khaja Buzrag who came in the darwesh persons. Upon
hearing the discussion, he has told that “He was Mansour who
himself mount on the scaffold. But we will not hand over our
disciples to the scaffold. His saying which was proved right
when Shaikh Abdul Raheem went for discussion with some
learned persons. Upon the death of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag, Sheikh
was lived for one year in the service of Shaikh Al-Samad. One
day there was prevailed such condition upon him and he was
called for drum beater and told him that “ To be announced in
the city that one who will pledge on his hands-on he will be
guaranteer for such person on the day of the judgment. And
make him illegal hell for him.”
When Mir Bajar Khan wants to battle the Kalhud people then
at that time he has requested help from the side of Abdul
Raheem. Shaikh told him that “ It depends upon some
conditions. And if it will be followed by you then, in that case,
your generation’s rule which will be continued up to the day of
the judgment.” All the conditions were there for the benefit of
the religious people and the end of innovation and infidelity. In
short rulers of Talpur have accepted the conditions in writing
and put the stamp on them.
One friend told me that “He was present at that time and
there came two persons and they told something in the ear of
Mir Saheb. Hazrat Shaikh told Mir Saheb that “This army is like
your family and the persons who came there in to sacrifice the
life for you. So do not conceal anything from them.”
Mir Saheb who has taken the shaikh from the army and he
was told him that “These two persons who our army detectives
and they are coming from the army of the opposite side. They
are telling that there is an army of 50,000 on the opposite side

under the commander chief of cruel and harsh person and his
name is Peroz Patani Nai. For this reason, we have kept this
matter secret that as we have only 4,000 army personnel. For
this reason, I have thought upon hearing this matter may our
army afraid of this matter. Hazrat Shaikh has told him that “ If
there will be an army of 50 lakhs then victory will be for you
only.” Then he held the beard of one military man and he has
told that “This is head of Peroz Tapani. And he did not leave it
until it was caught by Mir Bajabar Khan.Shaikh Saheb went
with Mir Bajara Khan upon to distance of one kose and he has
tied one piece of coverlet on the wooden stick and told him that
it was the flag of the Islamic Army. Mir Saheb requested “ Your
honour prayer for the army.” He told him that “I am praying for
the army. Now you proceed further.” Shaikh was sat in some
area which was separate from the battlefield. And from that
place, he began watching the battle in the field. After some time
he was stood from the place and make clean the earth by his
hands and spread musk on it. And he was sat there on the knees
with much respect for a period of much time. Upon this, he was
stood and said that “ Two leaders who have reached there upon
my request and now they have returned back upon giving
congratulation of the victory in the battlefield.”
After some time one messenger came from the army who
have given information about the victory of army Mir Bajar
Khan. He also said that “Peroz Tapani was killed by the person
whose beard was caught by the shaikh. Upon this victory, he has
thanked Allah and he has declared this victory as the victory of
Islam.
Mir Fatah Ali's elder son Mir Alhyar was sat on the throne
and at that time he has passed from there where court
proceeding was in progress. Upon seeing Hazrat, Mir Saheb

who get down from the throne and he went two steps further to
welcome him and around the throne, a large number of army
personnel were present there in the royal court. When Mir Saheb
went near Shaikh Saheb then at that time he has slapped him
with much force. And for which his head’s turban was falling
down on the earth. For the second slap, he has stretched his hand
then there came army personnel in between them. Mir Saheb
was stopped by army personnel. But due to the coming of the
army men in between them, Shaikh Saheb could not slap him.
Hazrat Shaikh told that “There was filled wind of the
government in his head. And with one slap he has freed him
from the world.” So for this reason Mir Alhayar Khan has spent
his remaining life becoming a Majzub person.
He was a perfect learned person of his time. He does not have
the faith of the general and customary book of Islamic
jurisprudence. He used to take help from his wisdom and
intelligence. Due to taking of his decision by wisdom and
understanding and for this reason some learned persons of his
time who have written for the legal opinion of innovator for him
and that this person who gives a religious decision by his
options. And for this reason, he is creating innovation in the
religion of Islam. And upon agreeing it there will be given him
punishment and for this reason, learned person who has gathered
in the capital of Sindh Khudabad. And they have called Shaikh
Saheb there.Shaikh Saheb was ready to go there but he has sent
a message that there should be one judge and who should be
Syed person ( a Muslim claiming descent from Muhammad,
especially through Husayn, the prophet's younger grandson.). He
will not have a discussion with individual persons so they should
elect one learned person as their leader with which he will have
discussions with me and other persons can help him and give

him references and texts by taking from the books. The ruler of
the time and learned person who have accepted his terms and
conditions.
Syed Jamal who was from Ghotki village selected as a judge.
(1).
When Shaikh Saheb was reached Khudabad then he has
advised his companions as per the verse of the Quran “ All of
you do not enter through one gate but enter through different
gates.

1). This discussion took place at Khuldabad which was the
capital of Sindh province which was there in district Dadu.
Where all learned of Sindh who was gathered there. For Shaikh
Garhudi it was said that he is a person the innovator. Shaikh
Garhudi has replied by reasonable answers for it by the Quran
and Hadith (sayings of the holy prophet). At last, the judge has
given his judgment that there is not have innovation in him. He
is light of the Holy Quran and Hadith.”
And reach to different mosques and he himself went there in
the dress of customary and while keeping rag dress in the
armpit. And wearing a coverlet on his head. And from it, there
was seen turban. And he has entered into the mosque. There was
the month of Ramadan. Upon entering the mosque he has
demanded water. And he said that he wants to drink water. The
learned persons have prohibited. Upon this Shaikh, Saheb told
that he is a traveler. The learned persons said that “There is
prohibition is better.” Upon this, he began reading the verse
from the Quran as follows.
(Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or
on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from
days later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom,

the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of
his own free will,- it is better for him. And it is better for you,
that ye fast if ye only knew.-Surah Baqarah 2:184. And he also
read this saying of the prophet “It means keep fasting in the
travel is like the person who is breaking the fast in his house.”
One of his servants has brought water in his service. He drank
water and then he came there and sat. The learned persons of
time recognized him that “ This is Shaik Abdul Rahim.”The
judge told him that there is no doubt in this innovation. The
Shaikh has asked the judge that the prophet when raided on the
camel and who gathered the companions and he drank water. Is
this also an innovation. During this time there was spread the
news of the arrival of the Shaikh in the city like jungle fire.
From the city a, learned persons, nobles and advisors from the
court and who were gathered in the mosque. The discussion was
continued from Zuhar prayer to Asr prayer. Learned persons
began questioning by opening the books. He began answering as
per light of the Quran and sayings of the prophet. And by
repeating he began saying that “ Entrusted person should do
justice. Because I am answering as per reasons of Quran and
Hadith (sayings of the prophet).
And as per the consensus of the companions of the prophet
and thinking of jurists and I do not consider inferior jurists.
During this time one student said that “ Maqdum Mohammed
Hashim who wrote like this.” Then Shaikh has lifted one inkpot
and has thrown at him. The tree of the knowledge planted by
him still not become green. If there is no reason to bring 4th-
grade reason otherwise do not talk absurd matter. This student
due to the hurt of the shaikh who has reached the guidance. And
he has become a person's mystic way.

In short the learned persons there were become helpless to


answer Shaikh’s questions. The judge told who has clarified that
“ In this person from where came innovation. ?He is a
personality, knowing the Quran and the light of the Hadith. Then
he has pledged on the hands of the shaikh has become his
disciple. Hazrat Shaikh told him “To go his village soon so that
you can reach the graveyard of your ancestors”.Shah Saheb went
to his village very soon. And he has reached 3 farsangs away
from his village. Then at that time, he left the mortal world. The
persons are known to him who taken his funeral to the graveyard
of his ancestors and buried him there.
Among true friends, one has reported one tradition that
“There was one idol temple of Hindus persons at a distance of
20 farsangs from Garhud in the desert area in which there were
doing all kinds of the bad things. There was the intention of the
shaikh that it should be destroyed by anyway. One time he was
going to Lavari Sharif. On the way, he has met some persons
who were going to Lavari Sharif. They told Shaikh that in the
temple there are more activities than before. Upon hearing this
there was passion. And he said to his companions that “Return
back, now it has become compulsory to destroy the temple.”
Then he has sent one darwesh in the side of Hazrat Khaja
Mahboob Al-Samad that darwesh went into his service and has
informed his intention and he said to him when he was coming
here then Shaikh has recited this couplet.
“ Those who piercing his ears by his happiness, what for him
who is his mother?.And there is nothing name of his father .”

Upon reciting this couplet Shaikh Saheb began weeping, but I


could not weep. And for this, there was caused sadness to

Khaja Saheb and who said that “Hazrat Shaikh has ended his
life”
Upon reaching Garhud Hazrat Shaikh has announced that
“This Al-Jihad fi Sabilillah (The Arabic phrase Al-Jihad fi
Sabilillah means striving or fighting in the path of Allah
(Gawrych, 2002) and is referred to in the Qur'an (Holbrook,
2010). Fundamental to this fight has been an underlying just
cause for Allah. There is now one chance available for every
performer of the prayer to join in it and have got success in this
matter. The number of the companions with the shaikh was
equal to the 313 equal to the participants of the Bader battle in
Madina. When he has reached near infidels then he has sent his
message to them that “Abdul Raheem who has reached near you
and he is waiting for that you should leave misguidance and
should return to Islam. If you want trail then this fakir is ready
for it and otherwise, there will be Jihad.” The idol-worshippers
who have offered him to give wealth which he has refused. And
at the other side infidels began the collection of the arms supply
for the battle. There was a fight before but for he has offered
four conditions and if it will be accepted among them then there
will be easy to decide. The following are his four conditions as
follows.
The Hindu chief comes to us and we will lock him in the
room without windows for a period of 40 days. In the same way,
I will also live for 40 days in the room in the locked condition.
During this period one who dies that his army should accept the
defeat.
There will be allotted one field in which there will be a standing
Muslim army on one side and on the other side, the Hindu army
will stay there. Them we and Hindu chief will participate in
customary Sindhi wrestling three times. If I will be successful,

then the Hindu chief has to accept the Islamic religion otherwise
I will wear his beads and become his subordinate.
For me and Hindu chief may be weighed before all and if he
will behave weight for his fatness then I will accept all of his
customs upon me. But it will be overweight in spite of my
weakness then he will have to accept the Islamic religion.
Hindu people start customs and music before their idol worship
place and when there will be fondness then I will reach there
alone. And if by apply to their use upon me and made like then I
will become obedient to them. Or I will sit the circle of the
remembrance of Allah. Then Hindu chief should come there
alone and he did away from a distance of 19 feet, then at that
time he should recite the Islamic creed in the loud voice and will
be entered in to fold of Islam. This is Jehad for which we have
come here.
Upon this message, he has called his companions and has
asked with them what is your opinion in this matter.? And all of
them said in one voice that “There is the same opinion from our
side which is as per your opinion.” He said that” He has liked
this matter. The infidels did not agree with the four conditions
and the battle was started for this reason.” When he himself
went to the battlefield. And on the way, he has called in the loud
voice young man Rama Talpur and said that come on “Now
there is your time.” All were surprised about this matter. During
the battle time, Rama has seen that the chief of the Hindus who
were coming on the horseback by holding a spear in his hand.
He made the slogan of Allah Akbar (Allah is great) and fired on
the chest of the Hindu chief and for this reason, he was died by
falling from the horse. Due to the death Hindu chief, all armies
of the infidels were fled from the battlefield. The Muslims have

destroyed the idol worship place and announced their Azan call.
And smashed all idols.
Hazrat Shaikh did not use any weapon in this hand in all battle
nor did not use words of cursed in this matter. He said as
follows.
“You alone do we serve and from You alone do we seek help.”
There were many injuries by swords and spears and for this
reason, he has to drink a cup of martyrdom. There is a matter of
surprise that there were deep wounds and severe injuries to the
Shaikh in spite of that there were no dropped any drop of the
blood from his body. And wounds which have seemed like
white. His dead body was taken from the battled field to Gurhud
Sharif and he was buried there. And his tomb was built by Mir
Ahmed Khan Shahwani. The date of martyrdom is calculated
from the following couplet.
‫چون تا ریخ وصا لش جستم ازدل‬
‫جواب آمد بحق خلوت گزیده‬
Because I searched for my heart about his death date
Then the answer came that he has gone to meet Allah

8. Hazrat Maqdum Auliya Qazi Ahmed (1)

He came into this mortal world in the year 1112 Hegira


corresponding to 1700 years. His father Khaja Mohammed
Siddiq who was a friend of Allah. Since childhood, Maqdum
Ahmed's attention has to indigence. He has obtained his primary
education from his father. Upon obtaining his education he was
admitted to the school in the Lucky village in the Saihan district.
When he has finished his education then government at that time
was given post-Qazi (A Qadi (Arabic: ‫قاضي‬, romanized: Qāḍī;

also Qazi, cadi, kadi or Kazi) is the magistrate or judge of a


Sharia court, who also exercises extrajudicial functions, such as
mediation, guardianship over orphans and minors, and
supervision and auditing of public works). And for this reason,
he has become well known and famous. He has such authority
on Islamic jurisprudence that in the whole country his Islamic
legal opinions were followed.
In a mystic way his pious persons who have followed the way
of life Quadra. In the beginning, Hazrat Maqdum followed this
method. Once he left his village for the pilgrimage of Hajj. And
when he arrived at the limits of Lavari Sharif then he has the
intention to meet Hazrat Sultan Aulia Hazrat Khaja
Mohammed Zaman and with his popularity, Hazrat Maqdum as
well are

Sindu. Due to the caliphate of Hazrat Sultan Auliya then he
himself has become a spiritual master for this reason. The circle
of his disciples was very large. His four caliphs who were
becoming very famous and well known
I.Syed Noor Mohammed Shah Kanda Bin Khabi Kanda Taluk
Navshar and Feroz in the district Nav Shar and Feroz.
II. Maqdum Abdul Wali Dar Bela in the district Nav Shar and
Feroz.
III.Syed Kareem Khatti, Pangharu, Taluka Hara, distric Mityali
iv. Syed Hussain Shah, Ratad Chad, Indian Panjab. And the
favour which has obtained, from which he has spread throughout

the subcontinent. And he has reached the position of the spiritual


master and he has 360 caliphs.
When he has gone into the presence of Sultan Auliya. He was
much impressed by visiting Sultan Auliya and he soon desired to
become his disciple. And due to fondness of service, he said that
“There is great, desire to include the highest grade mystic way
but at this time he is going on Hajj pilgrimage. On the return, he
will come back in his presence and will get this felicity.” Sultan
Auliya told that “Your intention is good but go while become
eligible for it.” So Maqdum began thinking in this matter. Sultan
Auliya said that “For going person there should have at least
such ability that there he can watch the reality of the Kaba and
when he will reach Madina there he should be recognized.”
When Maqdum Saheb heard these phrases then he has canceled
his trip to the Hajj pilgrimage. And has made the intention to
live in the service of Hazrat Sultan Auliya. Hazrat Maqdum has
said that he has found the kindness of Sultan Auliya. And for a
period of three days continuously he was given special attention
and royal favour which awarded to me unlimited to this lowest
person And due to his attention and favour he has acquired
such knowledge and devotion. And which will not be available
even after worship
and endeavous of many years in this matter. And in the period of
three days, he has made me perfect from an unskilled person.
Hazrat Maqdum while mentioning the event of the Hajj
pilgrimage he said that “ He has asked with Hazrat that
whether spiritual master can help in the time difficulty.?” And in
its reply, he has recited Hafiz Shiraz’s one line of the couplet.

In the loud and cry no nobody cares for another


At that time I am requesting and appeal my master

I was boarded on the ship suddenly heard the loud and cry of
the passengers even I was engaged in the meditation. But there
was such loud and cry that there tear off the hearing parts in the
ears. When I come outside then I was able to know that there
was breaking out the fire in the ship. And there is the danger of
the lives of all passengers. Upon seeing I have paid attention to
Hazrat Sultan Auliya.After passing some time fire began
extinguishing and ship with safely reached the bank of the sea.
And from that place, there was passing by foot which was
required there. One day away from companions, I was praying
Asr prayer at the foot of the mountain area. At that time some
Bedouin persons came there suddenly by holding swords in their
hands. There was no money with me, but everybody like his life
so there was fear with me. So for help immediately paid
attention to Hazrat Sultan Auliya. And by this time Bedouins
person who came very near me. With courage, I told them
Assalam Alaikum. And one Bedouins person who was ahead of
them said Walakum Salam. And all other people who were
passed from me silently.” Sultan Auliya who has helped me two
times at the time of difficulty.
After the Hajj pilgrimage, Hazrat Maqudm who has returned
back to Lavari Sharif and he was lived in service of Hazrat for
many years.
The age of Hazrat Maqdum was more than 100 years. He has
left this mortal world on 16th Zeqad in the year 1223 Hegira
corresponding to 3rd February in the year 1809. His date of
death is calculated from the following text.
‫شاه شمش جهان بود سا یه فردوس‬
Shah Shamsh was the king of the sun of the world and the
shadow of heaven.

He was buried in the tomb in the village which was habituated


by him, Qazi Ahmed.

9. Hazrat Abu Taleb Aghmi


He was among the four caliphs of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag. He was
given permission to teach but with difficulty, he did give
religious instruction. It is said that he has given religious
instructions to two persons. The two people whom he has given
teaching among one is Mir Mohammed Madni. And his
piousness and fame available in different countries. Shaikh Abu
Taleb did not like his fame. He used to graze cattle and get wool
from cattle. And with this work, he used to get his livelihood. It
is said that upon the death of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag, Hafiz
Hidayat did not found there. But he came there after two hours.
Upon coming there he told Hazrat Abu Taleb that “You have got
the power to give rebirth dead persons. So have courage so that
Hazrat may live again.” Upon this Hazrat Abu Taleb told him
that “But there is the willingness of Allah in this matter
otherwise due to kindness of Allah and favour of the spiritual
master has such power with me that if I will pay attention then
from time of the prophet Adam till this time all dead persons
will become alive. And they will bring their heads from the
earth and they will stand there.”
One of his friend said that “One who was sitting with Haji
Saleh Kadhi and he began laughing. And its reason he said while
looking at me that he was looking the condition of Hazrat Abu
Taleb Aghmi so there came laughing to me that in his house
there is nothing to eat. He went to river for fishing hunting but

still could not find hunting. The angels are presenting before
him the world by decoration. By moving his neck he was
refusing it. If they bring it on his right side then he is moving his
head toward the opposite side. If they present before the left side
then he is moving head opposite side.”
His holy tomb is situated in Saeedpur in the district of
Hyderabad in Sindh province and which is resort of all of
mankind.

10. Hazrat Mohammed Saleh Khadi


Among the disciples of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag, there will not find
such a person of miracles like Hazrat Mohammed Saleh Khadi.
He was a person of courage, wise, and patron. One of the friend
said that “Once this darwesh was coming to Lavari Sharif along
with his friends. On the way some boys who were playing in one
city and among them Ghulam Ali Talpur who was also present
there. And afterward who was become ruler of the Sindh
province. Among children, he was seeing Ghulam Ali Talpur
and he was watching the fate of this boy. Perhaps he will
become ruler of the country. But there is not seen anything in his
deeds.
His elder son Shaikh Saifuddin used to say that “My father
did not ever stretch his foot toward Lavari Sharif. Either he will
be on the journey or in his house. And the style of his which did
not ever change. One day I told him that “This is easy to do now
but what we will do after death?.” He said that “At that time
there will be no difficulty as Allah will keep us in his protection.

I am not among such persons. When death will come then the
people of time will see it and will surprise.” No doubt when
shaikh died then at that time people have seen that he was in the
condition of meditation.

11. Hazrat Shaikh Hafiz Taher

Among the disciples of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag, there will not find
such a person of knowledge of God like Hazrat Shaikh Hafiz
Taher. Once Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi who has sent a
message to him that “ In between you and Allah there is the
difference of a cord in the veil so come on so that we can
remove it also.” He has sent a reply message that this cord was
broken automatically.
One friend told that “ There was prevailed starvation and
there was no fall of any rainy drops. And the people were
worried about this matter. They have asked me to walk before
all of them and we all went in the presence of Hazrat Shaikh
Hafiz Taher. I have told shaikh to pray for the rainfall. Then
shaikh told that “ Make his hut new.” I have informed this
matter to all persons. Still, we have finished this work then
heavy rainfall was started.

Then I went to see the shaikh and has asked with him
“Whether your old hut which was stopping the mercy of Allah.”
He smiled and said that “ It is no such but I have seen that there
is much requirement of the prayer. I thought people are very
poor. So I have pointed out a sign of the repair of my hut.
Because who thinks some small service of his dear person as
much more in this matter. Then I could understand this matter
and this proved as correct.”
Abdul Rahman Bin Qasim said that “Hazrat Shaikh said that
if you face any difficulty then remember me.” After some time
there was a chance for me to visit Shah Bandar. I did not know
the condition and there was travel in the river water and even
there was the condition of the flood in the river. But there was
necessary to pass from there. There was nightfall and for which
my heart was drowning. And during this time I have
remembered Shaikh’s saying. Then I have remembered him by
my heart. Due to the power of Allah there was appeared
suddenly one person and who has given me the courage and has
shown the way. I have walked some distance then I found one
hillock there. I have reached it. After some time the same person
who was appeared there and who has brought milk pot and
bread. And he said “Leave here vessels and I will collect by
myself by tomorrow morning. You go on this side. And on this
side, there is much dryness there”. I wake up in the morning I
have seen the milk pot carefully and on it was written Haji
Taher. On this, there was believed in the night Haji Taher
himself came there. After a long period of time, he was met with
then shaikh has asked: “What you have done for my vessels of

the milk.” Then I remembered the event. Then shaikh smiled


and he said that “ We have collected our vessels from there.”

12. Hazrat Shaikh Kachi

Among the disciples of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag, there will not find
such a person of a big companion like Hazrat Shaikh Kachi. He
has spent much time in the service and love of Hazrat Khaja
Mahboub Al-Samad. As per the order of Hazrat Khaja Mahboob
Al-Samad, he was shifted to the Kach area. So, for this reason,
he has spent the last days of his life there. Where he is well
known and famous as Peer Pakhadu.
     Shaikh Saheb’s servant has reported one tradition that “
There was one sheep with the shaikh. And which was eaten by
the people of the street. Then shaikh has called people about his
sheep with them but all were refused that they did not have
information about his sheep. Then shaikh in helpless condition
has called his sheep and due to the power of Allah among the
people offering, there were 11 persons who have eaten the meat
of the sheep have made voices like sheep. And all the people
were surprised. The relatives of those 11 thieves persons who
have brought 11 sheep for the shaikh. And regretted and asked
for forgiveness with him on behalf of the thieves. Shaikh has
accepted one sheep and forgiven all 11 thieves then they come
back in their original shape.
   From among  Shaikh Saheb’s servants one servant went into
his service on the 8th Zill hajj and by desire and with much
sadness he told him that “Tomorrow all people will gather in
plain of Arafat. Shaikh has asked him “ Whether you are

interested to go on the Hajj pilgrimage.” And he told him “Yes”.


Shaikh has one cart which is kept at the door. He was pointed to
it and said to him that “This is our boat. You sleep on it in the
night time and which will reach you plain of Arafat.” I thought
in my heart that the shaikh ignoring me. But in the night I went
outside and sleep on the cart. When I wake up then I found it in
the plain of Arafat. And has performed all rituals of the Hajj
pilgrimage. And in the same way, I have reached back to my
village. I went in the presence of the shaikh then he was smiled
and told me that “Whether our boat was fast.”
      He has left this mortal world in the year 1227 Hegira
corresponding to 1812. On his grave, there was constructed a
very beautiful building. And around it, there was constructed a
beautiful fort. Shoeb Kachi migrated to Kach upon the order of
Hazrat Khaja Mahboob Al-Samad and for this connection, he is
well known as Kachi. His tomb is found in the Kach.

                                  
           
                              13.Khaja Ali Mohammed Majzub 

Shaikh Sidharat who said that “The Majzub (one lost in divine
meditation) who used to say that “ In intoxication and
consciousness these both things are in my control. I can live in
any of the condition as per my desired. But in the condition of
intoxication (majzubiat), I am happy.”
    There is a tradition that Shaikh Majzub who like very much
bread made of jaggery. The people of that time know well that if
the shaikh will be given bread filled with jaggery then he will
pray for the completion of their aims and he will give glad

tidings. Especially for the birth of the children, lost things, and
for these matters, he will think of himself as a source from the
side of Allah. This matter which belongs to him and becomes
such famous that till now disciples in Lavari Sharif for the
solution of their problems for the soul of the shaikh they
recitation of the whole book of the Quran on the bread filled
with jaggery.
  The  compiler of Margub Arbab said that his father told him
that “During the period of looting of Mad Khan Pathan people
began living the cities and then they fled away to the desert
places. In such a confusing period I have lost my 3 camels. I
have searched very much but could not find where they have
gone. ? Then I have cooked sweet bread and pour upon them
much ghee and presented In service of the Shaikh. The shaikh
told that “ Your work is completed.” Still, Shaikh Saheb did not
eat one loaf of the bread then I have told him that “If the camels
reach tonight to the house then it will be good.” The shaikh
Saheb was spitting the loaf of the sweet bread and he said that “I
will send you camels tonight.” After that Shaikh Saheb was
eaten the sweet bread. Upon eating the bread Shaikh Saheb told
that “I am tired, so much.” I have believed the saying of the
Shaikh Majzub and slept with carelessness in the night. Early in
the morning, somebody has knocked on the door.
I went outside and have seen that my cousin's brother and whose
name Bihar was standing there holding 3 camels. And I have
asked him where you bring the camels. He was replied that “In
the morning my she-camel fled away by be sacred and I went
behind of her and saw that three camels are standing there, so I
have taken them from there and come here.

   Shaikh Majzub has spent lost days of life in the Umarkot. One
day he began running at the bank of Lanba reservoir and he said
that “He will dive here and come out in the Lavari Sharif.” He
was fallen into the water tank by running there. And he has
offered his soul in the presence of Allah. He was buried at the
bank of the water tank. He was only 30 years old when he has
died.

                     14. Hazrat Shaikh Mohammed

He was a Majzub shaikh. And he was among students of Khaja


Buzrag. Most of the time he used to pass in the plain and jungle
areas. Once he was silent for a period of 12 years. And he did
not say any word and after that, he began talking.

    He himself told that there were given to him three things
which are as follows.
1.He was able to know the condition of the whole world.
2.I know about each particle of the world and other things that I
will find doubts, dangers, and hope which are created in the
hearts of the people.
3. As I have got such spiritual power that I can go each and
every place by my body and can do any work there as per wish.

                                15.Hazrat Shaikh Mahboob

He was chief of the Majzub persons of Hazrat Sultan Auliya and


much time he used spent in the village Hala Kandi. The needy
persons used to stay in the way with the trays of the different
kinds of meals as well as fruits. With this thinking that perhaps
this fakir may take and eat it. If he will eat anything then the

work of that person will be completed. And that person will find
his work as his will and wish.

                                16.Hazrat Shaikh Mohammed Momen

Among the persons of Hazrat Sultan Auliya, there will not find
any such person of the higher status like Hazrat Shaikh
Mohammed Momen.
    One day he was sitting in the shrine building of Hazrat Khaja
Buzrag then one darwesh person came inside and he said that
“In the sitting place there was one coverlet which belongs to me
and which was lost. And I searched very much but could not
find it there.”Khaja Buzrag has looked at Hazrat Mohammed
Momen and told him that there should be done work of this
fakir. Shaikh Mohammed Momen who was stood from the
shrine building and has gone outside. And at the same moment,
he has come back there and in his hands, there was coverlet with
him. In his hands, there was the same coverlet that was lost
there. He has handed over that coverlet to that darwesh person.
There was a doubt to the persons who were present that the
coverlet which was with Shaikh Mohammed Momen. So for this
reason he has brought it back soon. When Hazrat Khaja Buzrag
went to his mansion then those persons caught him and told him
“You have worried unnecessarily that darwesh person.” He said
that “ May Allah keep him in his protection. He is not a thief to
hid coverlet of the darwesh person. When Hazrat was pointed
toward me and I came outside. And I have seen all earth by
inner eye and then was able to know that one person who goes
with the coverlet. By walking he has reaching Bahauddin
village. Then I have stretched my hand and I have taken that
coverlet from his shoulder.”

17.Hazrat Shaikh Ilyas

He was among the persons of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag. And he has


spent of his time with Hazrat Mahboob Al-Samad. He has with
him a strange livelihood. Even he has a weak body and by age,
he was an older person. In the last part of life, he has a problem
with eyesight. In spite of this due to his fear and in presence
nobody among the person present there who did not speak in the
meeting place. He has reached the status of very important
personalities of saintliness. His year of death is 1232 Heigra
corresponding to year 1816. His tomb is situated in the north
graveyard of Plaja city.

       

                   18.Hazrat Shaikh Eisa Dasti

This darwesh is among those 10 darwesh people who went for


the camel grazing. Here such an event is pointed out in which
one person has given a camel as an offering to Hazrat Khaja
Buzrag. By smiling, he has given this offering to the darwesh
persons. And he has told them to watch it so it may not happen
that this camel may go from there.”In short 8 darwesh persons
have accepted the responsibility of watching the camel. They put
much fodder of the Pelo tree (Salvadora Persica) before the
camel and darwesh persons who sat around the camel in the
meditation. In the middle of the condition of destruction, they

were busy as such that their full night was passed away in such
condition. During such time camel left from there. When they
come out of their meditation they found the missing of the camel
from there. These were persons of engrossment who used to live
condition of engrossment. One time they spent under the tree for
a period of 9 months full in the condition of meditation. And
during this time they did not eat anything nor drink water. When
there came order of Allah then they stood from meditation. To
Mir Noor Ali they said that “Still You did not come out from
attribute of remembrance of Allah.”
      He has left this mortal world in the year 1243 Hegira
corresponding to the year 1827. First, he was buried on the
wayside. Afterward, Shaikh Siddha Tora has taken him from
there and when he has buried at the present place. His body was
in complete shape even after the passing of time of nine months.
As such that his holy stomach was in good condition.
   One fakir person told that “ He was used to be in his service
during his life period. After a period of nine months when his
dead body was kept at a new place then it was felt that his holy
stomach was like a living person. The coverlet of his shroud was
in good condition.”
  Shaikh Sidharth uses to say that “Hazrat Shaikh who not happy
for the second burial. When as per the people’s will there will be
burial in another place and then there will be much rainfall.” It
has happened that when they have completed burial then rainfall
was started. (1).

                                  19.Hazrat Shaikh Sadha Tora

Hazrat Shaikh Sadha Tora was a special companion of Hazrat


Khaja Buzrag. He came in the service of his shaikh for the
attainment of favour. Shaikh Eisa Dasti said that “ Hazrat
Shaikh Sadha Tora is king.” And his sins are like rewards with
Allah.Upon the death of Hazrat Khaja Buzrag who used to live
in the much-worried condition. In such a worrying condition, he
went on the journey in the careless condition. During the
journey period, he has seen Khaja Safi Allah. Khaja Safi Allah
was from Kabul Afghanistan. He was also called Khaja Safi
Allah Kalbi. Mavlavi Hashim’s grandson Ibrahim Thatvi who
was his caliphate and who recognize him and called him and
said to him that “If you live sometime in his company I will give
you permission of showing the path of righteousness.” But
shaikh’s heart did not accept it. And he has continued his
journey. During this journey, he went in the presence of Shaikh
Haji Faqir Allah Alawi Shikarpuri. (1) but he could not find
peace at that place.
    He used to say about his travel to Jalsamer where he has seen
one person there. And who has wear the dress of the Hindu
persons. And he was doing there carpenter work. And who
recognize me and who himself called him toward his side.
1). Shah Faqir Allah Alawi Bin Abdul Rahman was born at the
beginning of the 11th century in the area of Jalalabad in Rotass
and for the completion of the knowledge of manifest which was
done in the different places of Afghanistan and in India. In the
higher Sufi chain of the Naqshandia he has pledged on the
hands-on Shaikh Adam Banuri’s disciple Shaikh Saeed’s caliph
Shaikh Mohammed Saeed. After tour and travel of different
countries, he has come back in the year 1150 Hegira and he was
settled down in the city of Shkirpur in Sindh. And where he died

on 3rd Safar in the year 1195 Hegira. He used to write poetry in


Arabic, Persian, and Pashtu languages. In Sufism his book
Maktubat Alwai which his special book. Also, there are 17 other
books which were written by him.

     He was asked to sit there. In the evening he has taken me to


his house. He has taken out the dress of the Hindus and he wears
the dress of the Muslims then we both have performed the
prayer together. I have slept after Eisha's prayer but I was there
in the wake-up condition. I have seen that after Eisha's prayer he
was in mediation till the time of the morning. At the time of
Fajar prayer I wake up and both of us have prayed. Then he has
to wear the dress of the Hindu persons. In the day time, I have
taken permission from him to go from there. While saying God
bye to me he has told that “In your heart, there are three things.
When there will be available the following things to you.”
1. Comfort and peace in your heart.?
2. You have a thought in your heart that you are fakir and who
will accept your marriage proposal.
3. In your heart, there is the danger that when I will die then
as per the connection of the dress of the Hindus they will
burn me in the pyre.

Then he has replied of these three matters is as follows.


     Except for Lavari Sharif, there will be no comfort and peace
which will be available to you. In your relatives you will
marriage will happen by the daughter of such and such person
and with such and such woman. There will be born one boy to
you and who will be a person of perfection like you. If you
believe if these two things will be proved true then believe that I

will not burn in the pyre. The angels will come and bury me.
And funeral of one infidel in the dress of Muslim which will
burn in the fire in place of me. When the two things happen true
then I have believed that the third saying which will be true.
      During his journey, Shaikh Sidda Tora has seen one Sufi
Qalandar (dauntless person). He said about him that “We have
not talked with each other. But I have seen that his status is
among a person of destruction.”
   After the return of the journey, Shaikh Sidda Tora went to see
Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi and stayed with him. And due to
his coming Shaikh Abdul Raheem Garhudi who has done much
hospitality of him. And he said that “ Tonight the prophet of
Allah has recommended Shaikh Sidda Tora.”
    Shaikh Sidda Tora used to say that “As there are Muslims and
infidels are there and in the same way there is the earth which is
Mulsim and infidel. There was fear to me always that whether
he will not be buried after death in the earth of infidel. For a
long time, I was in such worry that the prophet of Allah has
shown me Muslim earth. And he also has shown me such a
place where I will be buried after death.”
   At the last age, there was prevailed such condition that his
eyes have become red and he used to talk in loud voice. Shaikh
Garhudi told me that “There will be prevailed my condition
upon you. And this time such condition which is prevailed upon
me. So he could not lift this weight. Afterward due to the
courage and blessing of the spiritual master I have come out
from that condition.”
      He has left this mortal world in the year 1246 Hegira
corresponding to the year1830. His tomb is there on the land
which was shown to him. He used to say that “ If any person
will be buried in his surrounding then he will reach in the

presence of the prophet of Allah and for remaining intercession


work which belongs to him.”
