answer sheets shall be done according to the page no. without any part of the
page getting cut. Scanning of pages under adequate light is essential.

a. Explain why Engineering Projects are viewed as Experiments.


1 b. “Engineers normally learn from their own prior designs and infer from the
analysis of operation and results” – Justify this statement by providing suitable
examples from your experience in the institution.

a. Explain Accountability. Considering yourself as an in-charge for a large


Engineering Project with participation / involvement of many engineers, how will
2 you ensure accountability without fragmentation.

b. What are Industrial Standards. Mention any four Industrial Standards


(international or national) used in the field of Production Engineering.

3 Describe Research ethics. Explain passive deception and active deception with one
example for each. What is research integrity and explain its importance.

a. “A trademark is an exclusive right granted for an invention — a product or


process that provides a new way of doing something or that offers a new technical
solution to a problem”. Indicate whether this statement is correct or not. Provide
justification for your answer.
4 b. As per the preamble of National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE),
“Engineers shall at all times recognize that their primary obligation is to protect the
safety, health, property and welfare of the public. If their professional judgment is
overruled under circumstances where the safety, health, property. or welfare of the
public are endangered, they shall notify their employer or client and such other
authority as may be appropriate”. Explain this with an example.

5 Explain the Bhopal Gas Tragedy with suitable diagram. Describe those safety
factors not followed / not practiced which led to this disaster.
