What You Need To Know About Candida Overgrowth Symptoms

Word count: 549

There is a normal amount of yeast fungi inside the body, and usually, they are not really
considered toxic, except when they multiply too fast that an infection occurs. One of these
yeast fungi is Candida, which thrives on moist areas and surfaces, such as the intestines,
the vagina, the skin, and the mouth. There are nearly 150 species of Candida, 10 of which
are hazardous to the human body and can cause infections, if not kept at a manageable level.

Candida toxins enter the bloodstream through the bowel wall. The most common of these
toxins is acetaldehyde, a prime waste product of the yeast fungi, which is easily
transformed by the liver into alcohol. A healthy bowel would have a balanced environment,
which has more friendly bacteria (about 95%) and less pathogens (15%), which include
Candida Albicans. The healthy bacteria, also called probiotics, keep the yeast fungi in
check, but it is when there is a proliferation of the Candida Albicans that the balance is
disrupted and an infection results. From a simple, single cell, this candida fungi can multiply
into large colonies, and can send out toxins into the bloodstream, thereby creating various
diseases in the human body.

Common Candida Overgrowth Symptoms

Some of the most common candida overgrowth symptoms include frequent migraines,
sleeplessness, flatulence, a feeling of being bloated and general fatigue. Usually, a person
with candida overgrowth symptoms would often feel cravings for sugar, which feed the
yeast fungi. There are other symptoms such as itching, redness in the affected area, acid
reflux, chronic pain, indigestion, frequent irritability and anxiety.

If the infection occurs in the vagina, there is often intense itchiness and a yellowish-white
discharge is often noticeable. There can also be a burning sensation during urination,
menstruation or sexual inercourse. It is estimated that about 75% of all women around the
world would have a yeast infection at one point or another, while about 40% - 45% would
have recurring yeast infections all throughout their lives.

Men can also be infected with yeast infections, especially during unprotected sex. This
infection can be prevented by wearing condoms during sexual intercourse. The most
common symptoms of yeast infections in the male genital area is a burning sensation or
tenderness at the tip of the penis. Sometimes, red rashes may also appear in the genital
area.

Candida infections are highly transmittable through sexual contact. The fungi can also
migrate from one part of the body to another, and candida overgrowth symptoms can occur
in one part of the system (like the digestive system) one day and on another area (like the
skin) the next day.
Treating Candida Overgrowth Symptoms

The best way to treat candida overgrowth symptoms is to keep your immune system healthy
and stay on a diet that is low in sugar and yeast. By following a yeast-free diet, the
overgrowth of the yeast fungi will be minimized, and the infection will be avoided.

Small changes in your lifestyle and diet, such as doing regular exercises, eating fresh fruits
and vegetables, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep are simple, easy to follow
ways to prevent yeast infections. Practicing daily hygiene is also necessary to keep your
body healthy and resistant to the Candida fungi, as well as to all other forms of infections.
