SUPREME TEST
By WALTER ROBINSON
North Dallas, the city’s sole re-
maining undefeated football team, |
puts its spotiess record to a su-
preme test this week.
The Bulldogs, boasting four
straight victories, meet Highland
Park, the state's sixth-ranked,
AAAA team, at Highlander Field
Friday nicht. The game easily tops
‘an abbreviated week of action.
At the same time the Scots and
Bulldogs are battling at Highland- | =
er, Woodrow Wilson, which suffered
| its first setback, 27 to 24, at the
; hands of San Antonio Thomas Jef-|
|ferson last week, meets Fort
| Worth's Paschal at Dal-Hi Stadium. |
| Forest Avenue’s crippled Lions, | ¥
| humbled last week by Carter River- |
side of Fort Worth, plays host at
Dal-Hi Thursday night to Gaines-|
ville, a touted District 2-AAA!
eleven which was upset last week
| by Cleburne.
| Only one other game is on the|
bill, Crozier Tech’s engagement at
Ennis Friday night.
| Sunset and Adamson both will be
out of action this week.
The outlook:
HIGHLAND PARK over North
Dallas—Both teams are loaded with
offensive potential. The Bulldogs
appear to have the best ground at-
tack while the Seots may control
the airways. Buildog Coach Rufus
Hyde admits that he doesn’t know
just how good his team is, although
he calls it the best he’s ever had.
The Bulldogs will prove their merit
but the Scots will prove the master
in a thriller, 27 to 21,
WOODROW WILSON over Pas:
chal.—The Wildcats played their
best game last week although los-
ing to Thomas Jefferson. A fumble
on the 3-yard line and four missed
conversion tries spelled defeat. '
They're out for a scalp this week.
Woodrow, 20 to 7.
GAINESVILLE over Forest.—The |
Lions are crippled so badly that)
they may have only five backs |
available for duty. Jerry Brockway |
is definitely out and Frank White is |
doubtful. Unless the breaks are/
more favorable than they have
been for the Lions previously this
season, Gainesville, 19 to 6. |
ENNIS over Crozier Tech.—The
Wolves’ scoring punch displayed
against Fort Worth Tech last week
was impressive. But Ennis lost
last week only 33 to 27 to Paris,
