1. 32 resistors are connected in a circuit as shown in the figure. The resistance of each resistor are same
and have magnitude of 8 . Find equivalent resistance across AB.
2. To measure the resistivity () of wire, the resistance (R) of the wire is measured with a tolerance ±1%.
Percentage error in length () measurement is also 1%. To measure the diameter (D) of the wire, a screw
gauge is used in which the least count of main scale is 0.5 mm and its pitch is also 0.5 mm. There are
50 divisions on the circular scale. When the wire is placed between the jaws, 4 main scale divisions are
clearly visible, and 8th mark of circular scale match with the reference line. If the resistivity of the wire is

3. The resistance of three wires BC, CA and AB of same uniform cross–section and material are a,b and c
respectively in ohms. One end of another wire of resistance d = 5 is connected at point A and other end
can make a sliding contact with BC. A battery of constant emf = 4V is connected between A and point
of contact with BC. Further it is known that value of d is equal to sum of the three resistance a,b and c.
The minimum current drawn from the battery is i0 in amperes. Find the value of i0 .
