The Office of the Dean of Students is dealing with the various
students' related activities, University level functions and ceremonies. (Annexure-1).
In addition to above it is also submitted that the interest of the
students in Hobby Classes, especially Videography course, is increasing every year,
and keeping in view of the interests showd by the students, the Hon'ble Vice
Chancellor has been pleased to increase the number of seats in each trade from the
session 2008-09. Accordingly some more batches and trade have to be inducted from
the ensuing session.
In this connection it is to point out that the SONY HANDYCAM
(Video Camera) has been purchased in the month of March 2008 by which the
functions organized by the University in the month of April and May have been
covered successfully by the students/staff of Videography section of Hobby Centre.
Since the supporting software of Sony Handycam for preparing CD/DVD could not
be purchased, therefore, the following items are needed for preparing CD/DVD and
proper training to the students in the Hobby Centre.

May kindly refer to the Notification No.RAc/Mtg./Sum.Vac./2007-08/2920 dated March

26, 2008 issued by the Registrar, BHU, notifying that the University hostels are to be vacated by
the students during summer vacation. The inmates shall vacate their hostel-rooms within 48
hours of the completion of their respective examinations excluding the students of Institute of
Medical Sciences. During the Summer Vacation certain categories of Students/Research
Scholars may be allowed to stay in the campus to continue their work for which they will be
provided accommodation in earmarked Summer Hostel through the Dean of Students.
In this connection, it is submitted that the following hostels may be earmarked as
Summer Hostels for the session 2007-2008 according to the consent received from the
concerned Dean/Director.

Only those Students/Research Scholars who are in actual need to continue their research
during summer vacation may be given accommodation in the hostels. They should route their
applications through their Supervisors, Head of the Department and Dean of the Faculty with
the undertaking that they will not keep any guest/unauthorized person in their rooms.
Nevertheless, the respective supervisors, while forwarding the application of his/her research
scholars may also confirm on prescribed proforma that he/she will also be available during the
period of his/her research scholars’ stay in summer vacation to supervise the research work.
Necessary fee for Summer Hostel, as per previous year, may be realized from the Research
Scholars. All such applications should be submitted to the Office of the Dean of Students. The
students of the Institutes may submit their applications to the Director/Hostel Coordinators.
Allotment of Summer Hostel is purely temporary and only it will be valid till the Summer
Vacation. No further extension will be allowed in any case as soon as the new academic session
starts in the month of July 2008.

2008, it is found that one bill of M/s. Kanu Babu Decorator, Varanasi is pending
due to shortage of fund Rs.2,951/= only under "Special Fund-Donation Made to
BHU".
