LESSON: An Introduction to Drawing
(Let Us Draw the Things Around Us)

Hello, boys and girls! You will study the art of drawing in this lesson. You
love to draw, don’t you? To be able to draw, you need to learn the following
topics:
1. Art Elements: Lines, Color, Texture
2. Art Principle: Balance, Proportion, Variety
3. Art Process: Drawing, Portraits, Family Portraits, Persons, School,
Furniture, Animals/Plants.

Objectives: Explains that ART is all around and is created by different


people.
Knowing Artworks
Activity1:

Look at the pictures. Put a check (✔) on top of the picture of children
who make art works. Circle all pictures that are works of artists.
Objectives: Identifies different lines, shapes, texture used by artists in
drawing.

LESSON: Let Us Paints the Colors and Shapes of the World

You will study painting in this lesson. Other topics that will be studied are
the following:
1. Art Process: Painting and Creating Colors from Natural and Man-

A. Colors- Natural Colors, Primary Colors, Secondary Colors
B. Shapes- Geometric Shapes, Organic Shapes

Objectives: Identifies colors, both in natural and man-made objects, seen


in the surrounding.

LESSON: Let Us Learn Printmaking

You will study the process of printmaking in this lesson. You will also study
the following topics:
1. Kinds of Prints: Nature Prints and Stencil Prints
2. Art Elements: Texture and Shape
3. Art Principles: Prints that Can Be Repeated, Alternated, and
Emphasized

Objectives: Differentiates between a print and a drawing or painting

Identify the shapes of the following:


Objectives: Creates a print by applying dyes on his finger or palm or any
part of the body and pressing it to the paper, cloth, etc. to create
impression

Activity 4:

On the space below, create a print by pressing your fingers or palm


into a piece of bond paper. You may repeat your design several times on
the paper. Exhibit your work in class. Be creative.

Objectives:
Stencils a design (in recycled paper, plastic, cardboard, leaves and other
materials) and prints on paper, cloth, sinamay, bark, or a wall

Activity 5: Parts of the Plants for Printing

Materials:
gabi stalk, banana stalk, calamansi, or okra
painting materials such as dye, watercolor, or ink cotton or
sponge
paper

Procedure:
1. Put a color on the sponge or cotton. Place it on a plate.
2. Cut the okra, calamansi, banana, or gabi stalk crosswise.
3. Press the stalk on the sponge or cotton with color. Observe the
natural design in this part of the vegetable or fruit.
4. Press it on a clean sheet of paper.
5. Repeat procedures until you have formed an interesting design.( You
can use two or three kinds of plant or vegetable parts for printing.)

LESSON: Let Us Study Sculpture and 3D Craft

This lesson is all about art crafts that can be viewed at the front, side.
And at the back. They are called sculptures and 3D crafts. Other things
that you will study in this lesson are as follows:

1. Art Elements: Shape and Texture


2. Art Principles: Proportion and Emphasis

Objectives: Differentiates between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional


artwork and states the difference

Activity 1: Painting or Sculpture?


Which one is a two -dimensional artwork? Check (✔) it. Which one is a
three- dimensional artwork? Circle it.
Activity 2: Name the Materials

Can you identify materials that can be used in creating a three-


dimensional object? Match the picture with the name of the materials used
to make it.

Objectives:
Creates a useful 3D object: a pencil holder, bowl, container, using recycled
materials like plastic bottles.

Activity3: Let Us Create!

With the assistance of your parents, create a useful 3D object: a pencil


holder, bowl, container.
Materials:
 Cutter
 recycled materials like plastic bottled.
 colored paper
 glue.

Procedure:
1. Cut the plastic bottle

2. Paste it on a card board

3. Put a colored paper or any coloring materials.


Pencil and kit holders

Objectives:
Construct a mask out of a cardboard, glue, found materials, bilao, paper
plate, strings, seeds and other found materials

Let Us Make a Mask!

Activity 5:
Materials: Crayons, oil pastels, marker pen, watercolor, short folder, pair
of scissors, cutter, two pieces of rubber band.

Take note: Ask guidance from your parents or guardians.

Procedures:
1. Put the folder horizontally across the face and mark the places for the
eyes, the nose and the lips.
2. Cut out a hole on each mark.
3. Color or paint the mask with any coloring materials.
4. Cut two small holes in line with the ears.
5. Use a rubber band for tying.
