En los casos de dolor dental, en especial con inflamación de cualquier magnitud o presencia de
heridas, la actuación del farmacéutico debe centrarse en recomendar la visita al dentista para
que determine la causa del dolor y el tratamiento específico.
• Duración del dolor dentario: Dolor de más de 48 horas.
• Indicadores de alarma:
− Dolor fuerte o persistente.
− Evidencia de hinchazón o de heridas bucales.
− Fiebre.
− Dolor de oído.
− Dolor al abrir la boca mucho.
