Philosophy in real life

Philosophy is the study of thought concerning nature, metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics,
being, knowledge, logic, and all manner of theory.
Science gives us knowledge , but only philosophy can give us wisdom.
There is no wrong in life, nothing is a mistake, experience makes perfect. Keep
smiling because life is a beautiful thing and there is so much to smile about. Life is
short, “Be happy, enjoy your sacred time on earth.”

Philosophy 1103 is one of my favourite course I’ve enjoyed every bit of it till date.
Every class of Wahid sir’s was a new experience and a lot to learn. This was the
course from which I’ve actually learned something which I can relate with life. I will
cherish them forever.
Among various topics I want to discuss about the topic ‘Fallacy’

Fallacy is when the premises don’t show proper logic to the conclusion. There is an
error in the argument of the structure of reasoning. The general premises are used in
particular cases that makes deductive argument.

the fallacy I can relate with my life incidence is ‘Appeal to Force’

Appeal to force: Force is used here instead of logic. A fallacy in which the
argument relies upon veiled threat of force, A very powerful man like attorney
general can show logic in favour of his state doing argument against them even when
they are not logical.

I always had a great interest in social science. Science might be logical but I always
found my peace in arts so I always wanted to study in arts. But my father forced me
to take science in school and then in intermediate. I always tried to make e discussion
on this but he never allowed me to do so. He was always stubborn in his decision. No
one tried to consult him since he is the family head. Where we can see appeal to force
clearly. then he wanted me to crack medical entrance exam which was also his choice
not mine. Which shows again appeal to force.

Wonderful stroke of luck was I didn’t get into medical but I got my dream come true,
got chance to study in my desired subject.

Another fallacy which I can relate is ‘appeal of inappropriate authority’

Appeal of inappropriate authority: It’s a fallacy in which a conclusion is accepted

as true simply because an expert has said that is true.

we all know about fairness cream. It says it will bright your skin. ‘Fair & Lovely,’ a
skin whitening cream marketed by Unilever in many countries in Asia and Africa,
and, in particular, India. Fair & Lovely is indeed doing well. Only because of it’s
advertisement. Millions of men and women around the world have resorted to
bleaching their skin. Which is actually racism and also very harmful of skin but still
they are doing business for years only because of some white skin actress in their
advertisement say it made their skin bright and public believe them. Where we can
see appeal of inappropriate authority clearly.
Philosophy is in all over our life.
Socrates claimed that ‘the examined life is the only one worth living’
I want to make each day worth living not only just surviving.
I’m thankful to my faculty for introducing this amazing method to us wonderfully .
