they heard people crying and screaming so they went to the feast. Both of the saw big creatures who swallowed all
of the people in the village. They hid in a hole under a big tree. Unable to wait longer, they both go out and saw the
village destroyed by the monsters. Soon as they feel asleep in the tree, a bird approachers commanded them to
follow it. The bird led them to a valley with a green that has vegetation, beautiful flowers and clear streams.

Rawera was born, the comforter. He greew up strong. He suddenly discovered a thick forest where the big
foot prints led him. He heard a loud and strange voice then ran back to his family. Because of his curiosity, he went
back to the forest with his well train pet and borrowed a weapon. The bird suddenly approaches and warned them
about the monster that lived there. The bird told about the monster who ate all of their ancestors.

Rawera bravely said that he want to kill the monsters. The bird helped them. Rawera was so determined,
they manage to kill all five giants. When he did, all the people who had been eaten by the monsters came out. They
all went back to the valley. Thanked Rawera, and all the villagers now respected Ng’uono and Jater.

The battle

“We grasp our battle-spears: we don our breast-plates of hide.

The axle of our chariots touch: our short swords meet.

Standards obscure the sun: the foe roll up like a clouds.

Arrows fall thick: the warriors press forward.

They menace our ranks: they break our line.

The left-hand trace-horse is dead::the one on the right is smitten.

The fallen horses block our wheels: they impede the yoke-horses!”

They grasp their jade drum-sticks: they beat the sounding drums.

The warriors are all dead: they lie on the moor-field.

They issued but shall not enter: they went but shall not return.

The plains are flat and wide: the way home is long.

Their swords lie beside them: their black bows, in their hand.

Though their limbs were torn, their hearts could not be repressed.

They were more than brave: they were inspired with the spirit of “wu.”

Steadfast to the end, they could not be daunted.

Their bodies were stricken, but their souls have taken immortality-

Captains among the ghost, heroes among dead.
