1. Explain why Rizal Works & Writings is a mandated subject to be taught to all schools in
the country?
- The teaching of Jose Rizal’s life, works, and writings is mandated by Republic Act
1425, otherwise known as the Rizal Law.  Senator Jose P. Laurel, the person who
sponsored the said law, said that since Rizal was the founder of Philippine
nationalism and has contributed much to the current standing of this nation, it is only
right that the youth as well as all the people in the country know about and learn to
imbibe the great ideals for which he died

2. Define Nationalism
-Nationalism is a way of thinking that says that some groups of humans, such as ethnic
groups, should be free to rule themselves. In other words they think that they are superior than
other race that is why they want to have their own rights and laws. Nationalists are believers in
the perfection of state. Hence, they never question the state,it’s intentions or it’s actions. Anyone
questioning the state can make them anti-national.

3. Differentiate nationalism from patriotism
