Shopping: In my family my dad and my mom take it in turns to do the
shopping. They go shopping twice a week and buy the necessary items: bakery products, dairy products, confectionary items and cold cuts. I believe they are very conscious shoppers, because they make a shopping list before going to the shops. Shopping habits: Various types of people have different shopping habits. There are some conscious shoppers and impulse shoppers. Conscious shoppers always make a shopping list before going shopping. However, impulse shoppers just go to the stores and buy whatever they see.
Hyper markets, or small corner shops : Personally, I believe, it’s
better to do the shopping in a hypermarket for a number of reasons. Firstly, in a hypermarket, you can get a discount if you buy in bulk. In smaller shops, the prices are usually higher, and you can’t get a discount. Secondly, the prices are lower in a hypermarket and you can participate in a loyalty programme, which means that you can earn points and reedem these points for product and articles. The prices are higher, because of the quality of the items. However, in a small corner shop the choice of articles is limited. Of course, hypermarkets also have a few drawbacks, too. Usually, they are located on the outskirts of town, so you can have parking hardships. Moreover, the majority of hypermarkets are overcrowded. Types of shops, and their products: There are a lot of types of shops. Bakeries, confectionary, butcher’s, jewellery, men’s wear shops and ladies wear shops, chemist’s, off-licence. At the baker’s, bakery products can be found such as bread, croissants, and cookies as well. Many times dairy products are also available there, such as milk, sour cream, and cheeses. At the confectioner’s you can purchase chocolate, sweets and cookies. At the chemist’s, painkillers, vitamins, medications, protein powders and other dietary supplements are available. Clothes shops sell different types of clothes, such as shirts, skirts, T-shirts, sweaters. They are also available in second-hand clothes shops, too, but of course, their quality is lower. At the stationer’s you can buy highlighters, Sellotape and compasses. There are also electrical appliances shops. where you can buy computers, coffe makers and washing machine. We usually go to the greengrocer’s, where we can buy seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Online shopping: In the old days, only brick-and-mortar shops
existed. Nowadays, you can order anything from the comfort of your home. You can order with a click of mouse or ont he phone. You can order anything from the internet today, and you can find discounted items online. You can pay by credit card, but also in cash.
Methods of payment: There are a lot of methods of payment these
days. Long ago you could only pay using banknotes and coins. Today you can also pay by credit card, but there is also internet money on Bitcoin. Most seniors today prefer to pay in cash because they are afraid others might steal their money. This is because when we pay with card, we also have to provide sensitive information such as the PIN numbers, and it takes more time. Clothes : The clothes I put on every morning depends on various factors: my mood, the weather and the occasion. For example, when the weather is bright, I always wear colourful clothes. However, when it’s dull, I usually put on dark clothes. When we go to a special occasion, that is, a wedding or a school ceremony, I dress up and wear my Sunday best. I usually go shopping for clothes at the beginning of each season. I also like end-of-season sales because I can get a lot of clothes at a very low price. I never go to second-hand clothes shops for two main reasons: on one hand, those pieces of clothing have an unpleasant smell. Ont he other hand, I wouldn’t like to wear other people’s clothes. Fashion: Nowadays, fashion is extremely important unfortunately, and everybody is judged by what they wear. I’m not fashion conscious and, honestly, I ignore fashion. However, I know a large number of people consider it very important. it’s important to dress up. For example: a job interview, an important family occasion or when you go to church at Christmas. Shopping malls Shopping malls are huge buildings where youcan find a lot of shopping and entertainment facilities. People usually buy clothes in shopping malls where they can even hang out with their friends. In a shopping mall you can not only do your daily shopping, but you can also pop in a bar or a restaurant
