PROFILE
I’m a self-starter with a strong work ethic and very good communication skills who is seeking journalism
opportunities - particularly related to radio or multimedia journalism. I consistently made the Dean’s List in my
studies at the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism and have had a variety of intense journalism-related
experiences. These journalism experiences include reporting assignments at the 2008 Olympic Games (Beijing,
China), the European Union Headquarters (Brussels, Belgium) and NPR affiliates in Columbia, Mo. and Atlanta,
Ga. In addition, for the last five summers I’ve worked on the field and in the clubhouse for the Atlanta Braves.

EXPERIENCE
INTERN, California Winter League (Baseball), Palm Springs, Ca., Jan. – April 2010
As an intern for the California Winter League, I worked with online media, media relations, promotions and marketing
for the baseball organization. Duties included running social media and blogging for the league, as well as P.A.
announcing and color commentary for radio broadcasts.

REPORTER/PRODUCER/HOST, KBIA 91.3 FM (NPR affiliate), Columbia, Mo., Aug. 2008 – Dec. 2009
Reported on a wide variety of topics, including politics, business, education and arts for daily newscasts and weekly
shows. Also hosted a regular show, “The Beat,” featuring interviews with reporters and editors from the city
newspaper, the Columbia Missourian. Additionally, I acted as the web producer for a weekly radio/talk show called
“Intersection.”

REPORTER/PRODUCER/EDITOR, Columbia Missourian, Columbia, Mo., Aug. 2008 – Dec. 2009


Worked as a multimedia reporter and production assistant for the local daily newspaper to provide additional content
to the traditional print story. Reported on and produced audio, video, photo and soundslides pieces. Also worked in
the graphics lab producing flash and information graphics.

REPORTER, WABE 90.1 FM (NPR affiliate), Atlanta, Ga., June – Aug. 2009
Reported on a wide variety of topics for daily newscasts. Also provided multimedia production for a blog in conjunction
with a radio series.

Covered the Cycling and Boxing venues as a flash quotes reporter during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
Interviewed athletes and coaches before, during and after events in a very time sensitive environment. Responsibilities
also included writing stories and press conference highlights.

As an international student, I traveled for research and articles relating to life in Denmark, the EU Headquarters in
Brussels, Belgium, and social conditions in Reykjavik, Iceland.
