1. Why is Physical Education important?

 The importance of Physical Education is it makes an individual well-rounded


through properly selected physical activities. It does not just develop the
physical health but also in other aspects just like mental health. In addition to
that, students that don’t have an active lifestyle at their home can participate
and challenge themselves to be healthy, it will help them to become aware
of the essence of a healthy lifestyle. Also Physical Education will enhance the
level of competency and confidence of an individual through joining activities
that can develop their skills such as dancing and sports.
2. What is the role of folk dances in the culture of the people?
 Folk dances serve as a symbolism of the culture of a particular nation. For
example, here in the Philippines, folk dances mirror the everyday activities
and experiences of our ancestors. It will serve as a recognition to the nature
of the people living in a particular place, describing their habits, customs and
beliefs. For example, when someone dances carinosa, automatically that
person is a Filipino representing the Philippine culture.
3. How do values derived in studying folk dances affect the daily lives of the people?
 The values derived in studying folk dances affect the daily lives of the people
in a way that they will realize the importance of Philippine Folk Dance. They
will learn how to appreciate the beauty of these dances and at the same time
they will learn how to promote Philippine folk dances in order for it to be
preserve and be able to pass it in the next generation. Also, they will achieve
a healthy posture or body through graceful and rhythmic coordination.
4. How did the three (3) racial groups contribute to the development of Philippine Folk
Dances?
 Negritos are the offspring of Pygmies who belong to the three racial groups
(including the Indonesians and Malays), like to describe their daily activities
in the form of dancing and after such time dancing and singing became a past
time of the Filipinos. The dances came from them and it is considered as a
religious activity by the early Filipinos and during Spanish period, the
Spaniards introduced different dances that later on became the traditional
folk dances of our culture. And nowadays, it is still being promoted and
preserved by the Filipinos.
5. As a student, how can you help preserve and promote our culture heritage?
 As a student, I can help to preserve and promote our culture heritage by
participating in activities such as folk dancing. Even though I’m not that good
in dancing at least I appreciate the beauty of it. Also, I can use the social
media to promote our culture heritage by sharing posts about it.
