1 Fire Water Pump (Engine Driven)

Engine driven Fire pump use for fire fighting system shall be of the centrifugal end-suction type, with
pump casing of cast iron, impeller of bronze with bronze packed glands and a stainless steel drive shaft.
The engine shall be suitable for fire pump and diesel fuel type, four strokes complete in all respect. The
pump shall have a capacity as mentioned below.

The pump shall be directly coupled to an motor driving the pump so that the pump delivers the
specified water flow rates at the specified delivery pressures. The torque / speed characteristics shall be
selected to match the pump operation. Pump shall be heavy duty continuous operation type suitable to
operation at 400C above ambient temperature. The pump shall be minimum 65% efficient.

The pump and the motor shall be mounted on a common base-plate shall be installed on a concrete

4.3 Flexible Joint

4.8 Pressure Release Valve
Supply of Pressure Release valve of 4 inch (100mm) dia of cast iron / brass body with adjustable knob
to adjust set pressure for release excess pressure from the sytem to safe the fire fighting system network
to drain. The valve shall be installed at pump house in discharge header. The valve shall be suitable to
withstand pressure of 12kg/cm². Inlet / outlet shall be flanged / threaded end type.

4.9 Pressure Gauge

Supply of of 40mm dial type Pressure Gauges including supply of all accessories and consumable. The
range shall be 0-250 psi.

4.10 Pressure Switch

Supply of Pressure Switch complete with sensing element, enclosure material, 15 mm NPT pressure
connection, direct mounting electrical connection, other material etc.accepted/approved by the
Consultant.

4.11 Auto Air - Vent Valve

Supply of Auto Air vent valve of 1 inch (25mm) dia of 1" dia inlet BSP, bronze made with rubber ball

shall be used with 40mm dia internal Hydrant unit (where to reduce high pressure is necessary). Valve
body shall be made with hot pressed brass, seat of stainless steel ANSI304. Shall be suitable for 80°C.
Initial pressure shall be 15 bar, adjustable final pressure shall be 0.5bar (min), 7bar (max).

5 FIRE HOSE CABINET
 Supply of Fire Hose of 2½" (63mm) dia 30 meter long suitable to install inside the Hydrant cabinet. The
hose shall confirming to BS 6391 . The Hose shall be UL Listed & Burst Pressure shall be not less that
600 psi and working pressure 200 psi, shall be made with special quality EPDM rubber as internal
lining, suitable to withstand heat and polluted water, heat and abrasion resistance, Jacketting shall be
made up of 100% polyester for extra sthrength. Hose shall be 30meter long in a single length and shall
be with male coupling in one end other end with female coupling. Couplings shall be binded with hose
with copper wire properly. Instantaneous couplings shall be made with bronze / alluminium alloy,
polished / hard anodized to confirm BS 336. Hydrant cabinet of suitble size : 43" X 36" X 12" (wide x
height x depth) or as per site measurement and requirement / Rrecommendation of Consultant/PD.

6 Pillar Hydrant (Double Headed)

Supply of cast iron body Double Headed Pillar Hydrant complete with two nos. cast brass made

flanged end. The Hydrant Shall be suitable to withstand test pressure of 300 psi (min). Color of the units
shall be red/apprdoved by the manufacturer or as per code.

7 Fire Brigade Connection : 4 - Way

Supply of 4-Way Fire Brigade Connection with Cabinet, complete in all respect with all accessories. The

having 6" dia (150mm) flanged type outlet directly connected with stand pipe. It will have also one
25mm dia drain valve for drainage of water, rubber blank cap and chain for protection. Outlet 150mm
dia shall be as per ANSI-B-16B-16.5B. or equivalent and Shall be suitable to withstand pressure of
20kg/cm². It shall be manufactured according to BS standard & suitable for using with fire service &

8 Fire Rated Door

shall be 40mm and filled with fire proof / resisting materials of minimum two hours rated. Country of

16 Electrical Cabling Work :

Supply of single/multi core Fire rated PVC insulated, PVC sheathed electrical cable of copper conductor
of following size as direction The work shall be complete with water grade PVC conduit, required ECC,
conduit bends, tees, junction box, pull box etc. complete as per direction and standard. Cutting of wall,
floor, roof etc. mending good the damage shall be as per direction. All horizontal cable work through
PVC conduits shall be concealed between RCC floor slab and floor tiles,necessary cutting (if any) shall
be done as required in walls and in floors.Termination and cable jointing shall be done as per standard
practise.The authority shall supply required power up to pump house. Cable shall be BRB/Paradise.

17 Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Balancing :

Installation the hole system.
 After complete proper installation the system shall be tested, commissioned and balanced of the system
shall be done as per direction and recommendation of the Manufacturer & NFPA. Pipe work system
shall be tested at 250 psi/ 15 bar pressure for 24 hours without any leakage. All the individual items
shall be tested separately upto the satisfaction of the Consultant/PD. After proper testing, commissioning
and balancing the system shall run for seven days upto the satisfaction of the Owner.

18 Documentation :
After complete installation, testing commissioning and balancing the system the contractor shall have to
provide as built drawing as per specification.

19 Training & Fire Drill :

After complete installation, testing commissioning and balancing the system the contractor shall have to
provide training programme to the representatives of the Client. Fire drill shall be performed before
handing over the system to the Owner. Fire Drill shall be performed at least once in a month for 12
months defect liability period.
