FOR THE CRAFTERS

The Prophet's ‫ ﷺ‬Noble Lineage


Supplies
A piece of paper you want to age

1/4 cup of hot, black coffee

(Tea could work too)

A shallow pan or dish or bowl

Paper towels

Jute or any string

Tape, glue

Pen or Sharpie

Pastels or crayons or any art supplies

Instructions for Aging the Paper

1. Start out with 1/4 cup of hot coffee

2. Pour the coffee into a shallow pan, dish, or bowl

3. Add in your paper to soak up the coffee. (You can crumple the paper before if you like).

4. Dry the coffee stained paper on a piece of paper towel, or hang it to dry with

clothespins.

TIP: Double dipping and letting the paper sit for a few minutes will give an even darker aged
look.

Writing and Creating


1. Once you have aged your paper for a vintage look.

2. Encourage your child to write out (trace over with ink) the lineage of the

Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬in Arabic and English. Assist them whenever needed. See

next page for the Lineage of our Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬and a template.


3. Lastly, decorate as you like. Then fold along the top of the paper to

glue the string on the inside of the fold on the back.

4. Hang up or display their project.

Events of the Prophet's Noble Birth ‫ﷺ‬


Supplies

Cardstock paper (white, green, gold,

glitter, etc.)

Any Art Supplies to decorate:

Glitter glue, paints, pencil crayons,

watercolours, pastels etc.

Cut-outs of birds, elephants, etc.

(optional)

Pen or Sharpie

Tape and glue

Instructions
1. Start by letting your child choose some memorable events from the story.

2. Decide how many folds you would need to match the number of events, then cut the

cardstock to the size of card you like.

3. Fold cardstock paper in halves, then tape them together to create an accordion fold.

(We cut three sheets of cardstock paper and taped them together to make 5 folds).

4. Let your child draw, paint, or make cut-outs to create the events, allow them to make it

their own. Assist them whenever needed.

5. Place the events on your accordion card in sequential order. (We have done a cover

page with the Prophet's ‫ ﷺ‬name and a silhouette of the green dome, followed by the
creation of his light, then the year of the elephant, then the zalmusa and we ended with

a cut-out of the sandala.

6. We finished off our design with glitter glue, decorate to your hearts content.

7. Lastly, display their card!

‫ْﺼﺮ ِ ِه‬ُ ‫ﻴﺐ ُﻋﻨ‬ ِ ِ‫ﻦ ﻃ‬ َ َ ‫أَﺑـ‬


ْ َ‫ـﺎن َﻣ ْﻮﻟِ ُﺪ ُه ﻋ‬
ِ‫ﺨ َﺘﺘَـﻢ‬ْ ‫ﻴﺐ ُﻣ ْﺒﺘَـﺪ ٍَإ ﻣِ ْﻨ ُﻪ َو ُﻣ‬ َ ِ‫ﻳَـــﺎ ﻃ‬

'Abaana mawliduhu ‘an teebi ‘unsurihi


Yaa teeba mubtada'in minhu wa mukhtatami
His noble birth revealed his pure origin [lineage]
O pure beginning [Adam] and [O pure] end [Abdullah]

Yawmun tafarrasa fihil fursu -annahumu


Qad 'undhiroo bihuloolil bu-si wanniqami
On the day [of his birth] the Persians had insight that indeed they
had been warned of impending hardships and punishments

‫ْﺼ ِﺪ ٌع‬ َ ‫ِﺴـﺮَى َوﻫْ َﻮ ُﻣﻨ‬ ُ ‫ﺎت ِإﻳ َﻮ‬

At night, the castle of the king of Persia split.
Like the unity of the king of Persia's entourage, no longer unified.

Wannaaru khaamidatul 'anfaasi min -asafin


‘Alayhi wannahru saahil ‘ayni min sadami
The breath [the flames] of the fire went out, out of sadness over it [the castle]. And the
rivers' eyes became inattentive [stopped flowing] out of sadness

‫ﺖ ﺑُﺤَ ْﻴﺮَﺗُ َﻬـﺎ‬


ْ ‫ﺎﺿ‬َ ‫ﺳـﺎ َو َة أ َ ْن َﻏ‬
َ ‫ﺳـﺎ َء‬ َ ‫َو‬
‫ﻴﻦ َﻇـﻤِ ﻲ‬ َ ِ‫ﻆ ﺣ‬ ْ ِ ‫َو ُر ﱠد َوارِ ُدﻫَـﺎ ﺑ‬
ِ ‫ــﺎﻟ َﻐ ْﻴ‬

Wa saa-a saawata -an ghaadat buhayratuhaa


Warudda waariduhaa bil ghayzhi heena zhami
The city of Sawah became grief stricken by its sea drying out.
And the one seeking it, while thirsty, was returned angrily.

ٍ َ‫ﻦ ﺑَﻠ‬
‫ـﻞ‬ ْ ِ ‫ن ﺑِﺎﻟﻨﱠـﺎرِ َﻣﺎ ﺑ‬
ْ ِ‫ﺎﻟ َﻤـﺎ ِء ﻣ‬ ‫َﻛــﺄ َ ﱠ‬
ِ‫ﻦ َﺿـﺮَم‬ ْ ِ ‫ﺣُ ْﺰﻧـﺎ ً َوﺑ‬
ْ ِ‫ـﺎﻟ َﻤﺎ ِء َﻣﺎ ﺑِـﺎﻟﻨﱠﺎرِ ﻣ‬

Ka'anna binnaari maa bilmaa-i min balalin


Huznan wabilmaa-i maa binnaari min darami
As if fire has become wet like water,
Out of sorrow, and water has become flames like fire.

‫ﺳــﺎﻃِ َﻌ ٌﺔ‬ ْ ‫ﻦ ﺗَ ْﻬﺘ ُِﻒ َو‬


َ ‫اﻷ َ ْﻧــ َﻮا ُر‬ ‫ﺠ ﱡ‬ِ ‫َو ْاﻟ‬
ِ‫ﻦ َﻛـﻠِﻢ‬ ْ ِ‫ﻦ َﻣ ْﻌﻨًﻰ َوﻣ‬ ْ ِ‫ـﻖ ﻳَ ْﻈ َﻬـﺮُ ﻣ‬‫َو ْاﻟﺤَ ﱡ‬

Wal jinnu tahtifu wal-anwaaru saati’atun


Wal Haqqu yazhharu min ma’nan wa min kalimi
All jinn were calling out, and the lights were radiating.
And the truth appeared, in meaning and in words.
‫ﺸـﺎﺋ ِﺮ ِ ﻟ َ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ن ْاﻟ َﺒ‬ ُ ‫ــﺈﻋْ َﻼ‬ َ
ِ ‫ﻋَ ُﻤﻮا َو َﺻ ﱡﻤﻮا ﻓ‬
ِ‫ﺸـﻢ‬ ِ ْ ‫ﺴ َﻤ ْﻊ َوﺑـَــﺎرِ َﻗ ُﺔ‬
َ ُ‫اﻹ ْﻧ َﺬارِ ﻟ َ ْﻢ ﺗ‬ ْ ُ‫ﺗ‬

‘Amu wa sammu fa-i’laanul bashaa-iri lam


Tusma’ wa baariqatul -indhaari lam tushami
The disbelievers became blind and deaf, for the announcements of good
News were not heard and the lightning of warning were not seen

‫ام َﻛــﺎﻫِ ﻨ ُُﻬ ْﻢ‬ ْ َ‫ﺧ َﺒﺮ‬


َ ‫اﻷ َ ْﻗ َﻮ‬ ْ َ ‫ﻦ ﺑ َ ْﻌـ ِﺪ َﻣﺎ أ‬
ْ ِ‫ﻣ‬
ِ‫ـﻢ ْاﻟ ُﻤ ْﻌـ َﻮ ﱠج ﻟ َ ْﻢ ﻳَ ُﻘـﻢ‬
ُ ‫َـﻬ‬ ُ ‫ن دِﻳﻨ‬ َ
‫ﺑِــﺄ ﱠ‬

Min ba’di maa -akhbaral -aqwaama kaahinuhum


Bi-anna deenahumul mu’wajja lam yaqumi
After the people were informed by their fortuneteller
That their crooked religion would not continue;

ُ ‫ﻦ‬ ْ ْ
‫ﺐ‬ٍ ‫ـﻬ‬ُ ‫ﺷ‬ ْ ِ‫ﻖ ﻣ‬ِ ‫َوﺑ َ ْﻌـ َﺪ َﻣﺎ ﻋَ ﺎﻳَﻨُﻮا ﻓِﻲ اﻷُﻓ‬
ِ‫ﻦ َﺻﻨَﻢ‬ْ ِ‫ض ﻣ‬ ْ ‫ـﻖ َﻣـﺎ ﻓِﻲ‬
ِ ‫اﻷ َ ْر‬ َ ‫ُﻣ ْﻨ َﻘ ﱠﻀﺔٍ َو ْﻓ‬

Wa ba’da maa ‘aayanoo fil -ufqi min shuhubin


Munqaddatin wafqa maa fil -ardi min sanami
And even after they saw luminous meteors in the sky
Falling just like all that is upon the earth of idols.

‫ﻲ ُﻣﻨ َْﻬﺰ ِ ٌم‬ ْ ‫ﻳﻖ ْاﻟ َﻮ‬


ِ ‫ﺣ‬ ِ ِ ‫ﻦ َﻃـﺮ‬ ْ َ‫ﺣﺘﱠﻰ َﻏـﺪَا ﻋ‬َ
ِ‫ﻴﻦ ﻳَ ْﻘ ُﻔﻮا ِإ ْﺛـﺮَ ُﻣﻨ َْﻬـﺰِم‬ ‫ﻦ ﱠ‬
ِ ِ‫اﻟﺸـ َﻴﺎﻃ‬ َ ِ‫ﻣ‬

Hatta ghadaa ‘an tareeqil wahyi munhazimun


Minash shayaateeni yaqfoo -ithra munhazimi
Until they fled from the path of revelation, one defeated
devil following another.
ٍ‫َﻛـﺄَﻧ ﱠ ُﻬ ْﻢ َﻫﺮَﺑـﺎ ً أَﺑْ َﻄــﺎلُ أَﺑْﺮَﻫَـﺔ‬
‫ﺣ َﺘ ْﻴـﻪِ ُرﻣِ ﻲ‬ ْ ِ‫ـﺎﻟﺤَ َﺼﻰ ﻣ‬ ْ ِ ‫ﺴ َﻜﺮ ٍ ﺑ‬ َ
َ ‫ﻦ َرا‬ ْ َ‫أ ْو ﻋ‬

Ka-annahum haraban -abtaalu -abrahatin


Aw ‘askarin bil Hasaa min raahatayhi rumee
As if they were fleeing like the warriors of Abrahah's army
Or like an army that was pelted with pebbles from his palms.

‫ـﻄﻨ ِِﻬ َﻤــﺎ‬ ْ ‫ﻴﺢ ﺑ ِ َﺒ‬ ْ َ‫ﻧ َ ْﺒ ًﺬا ﺑِﻪِ ﺑ َ ْﻌـ َﺪ ﺗ‬


ٍ ‫ﺴـ ِﺒ‬
ِ‫ﺸــﺎ ِء ُﻣ ْﻠﺘَﻘِ ـﻢ‬ َ ‫ﺣ‬ َ ْ ِ‫ـﺬ ْاﻟ ُﻤﺴﺒﺢ ﻣ‬ َ ‫ﻧ َ ْﺒ‬
ْ ‫ﻦأ‬ ِ ‫َ ﱢ‬
Nabdhan bihi ba’da tasbeehin bibatnihimaa
Nabdhal musabbihi min -ahshaa-i multaqimi
Throwing them after they glorified [Allah] in his palms
The way the glorying one [Prophet Yunus] was thrown from the
stomach of [the whale] who swallowed him.

Mascarpone Stuffed
Dates
Dessert

The Prophet's ‫ﷺ‬ loved fresh, moist dates (rutab) and he would eat

them from a plate. His favourite dates were ajwa.

Ingredients Preperation
10 dates Make a slit in the center of

each date. Remove the pit.


6 ounces mascarpone
Spoon mascarpone cheese

cheese into the slit and top with nuts.

10 pecan or walnut
TIP: Large Medjool dates are
halves
best for this recipe. You can

store dates in a cool place, in

an air-tight container, where

they keep well for several

months.

Cucumber, Chickpea
Salad
One of the Prophet's ‫ﷺ‬ favourite food was baby cucumbers. He liked

to eat baby cucumbers with dates and salt. He also told us 'to eat

and anoint ourselves with olive oil because it is from a blessed tree'.

(Ibn Maja)

Ingredients Preperation
8 Persian cucumbers, cut into Place the diced cucumbers,

chunks cherry tomatoes, chickpeas,

red onion, 1/4 cup of the feta


1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

cheese, half of the dill, half of


1 cup chickpeas (rinsed)
the parsley and half of the
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
mint into a large bowl; add

1/4 cup finely sliced red onion the lemon juice and the olive

1 tablespoon chopped fresh oil, along with a couple of

good pinches of sea salt, and


dill

gently toss together to


1 tablespoon chopped fresh

Spoon the salad out onto a

mint serving platter or into a salad

Shake

The Prophet's ‫ﷺ‬ especially loved milk and preferred drinks that

were sweet and cool. He would mix cool water with honey,

dates or raisins.

Ingredients Preperation
1.5 cups milk Peel banana and remove

pitts from dates.


1 banana
Place all ingredients into

3 Dates blender and blend until

smooth.

Pour the shake into glasses

and enjoy right away, or chill

in the fridge to enjoy later.

TIP: add a dash of cinnamon for

some extra yumminess.
